First of the month. Payday. Momma and I dropped the kid off at his workplace, and we headed off into the sunrise at about 0750. We had all sorts of stops to make and all kinds of stores to hit....spent a lot of money, but it was all on necessary items; what can I say?

We did manage to fill my truck up with gas at $2.99 a gallon in Grand Rapids; that was nice. Then we headed back, picked up the kid at his workplace at 1630, and came home. Stopped at Subway for sandwiches because Momma didn't feel like cooking. Once we unloaded all the groceries and other purchases, I parked my truck in the garage, and got out Momma's truck and drove into one of the little towns just to the west of us; filled her truck up at $3.02 a gallon....that was also nice. Most places around here are charging $3.40-something.

On the trip out to the gas station, it started to snow. It was cold all day today (wind was savage) but it didn't start spitting snow until after 1800 (that's 6 PM for you civilians). I pulled up to the pump and the hood was covered with graupel, that hard, pellety snow that almost looks like hail. It quit by the time I left to come home, but it was still the first snow of the season. There will be more to come, (sigh).

I also knew that Halloween was over, because all of the stores had Christmas trees and twinkling lights up already. (SMH) Oh well, that's capitalism, I guess. And now I think I'm finally tired enough to sleep, so I am off to the arms of Morpheus.

Good night, sweet dreams, and blessings to all here.

Had a rough day here as well. Just wondering why gas here is close to 3.60.

Why didn't you go back to the cheapest? Are they rationing? Pleasant dreams and God bless.

No, no rationing, but we were doing our shopping in Grand Rapids, nearly two hours from home, and we only drove one vehicle. By the time we got home last night, I was not about to drive for another four hours just to save three cents a gallon on gasoline, lol! So I went 12 miles and got gas for her and went home. :)

Sounds reasonable:)

Yesterday I paid $3.99 a gallon for gas.
Today I bought a carton of eggs at the grocery store.
The carton said they were large eggs.
I opened the carton, and the eggs inside looked like small size to me, but that's all that was available.
I think inflation has hit, and has hit hard.:swoon:.

The last time I saw gas this high was after Obama was elected; I remember paying in excess of $4.00 a gallon the whole time he was in office. Now we have Obama 2.1, and we're right back to the same thing again.

A lot of the stores around here are starting to show shortages of food items---one of our biggest grocery chains (Meijer's) has a lot of bare shelves. Canned goods, vegetables, meat---all scarce. The stores that do have meat are charging absolutely outrageous prices for it---we bought stuff like bologna and ham yesterday, but we didn't buy so much as a crumb of beef---we couldn't afford it. Other stores have shortages in other things; a lot of the cheap Chinese junk like sandals and plastic toys and Christmas decorations and whatnot simply cannot be had for any price, because it can't be shipped; it sits on container ships in the ocean off California. (shrug)

I'm not sure where all of this is going to end up, but I very strongly suspect that We The People are going to end up getting the knife in the back because of it. The people who are pretending to be our government have absolutely no clue whatsoever what they're doing, and they're going to drive us into a nose-dive that's going to result in extremely ugly circumstances, I'm afraid. Once people get fed up with paying the mortgage money for gas to get to work and back, once they get sick and tired of not being able to cut their grass because gasoline-powered mowers are banned, or blow snow out of their driveways for the same reason, and most especially, once they get good and hungry because they is no food to be had, and what food can be had costs a king's ransom----all while the political fat cats sit on their well-padded keesters and suffer no impediments to their gilded lifestyles whatsoever, I think the People will finally be shaken out of their postwar complacency and take matters into their own hands.

Then, there will be changes. Some of them won't be good.

Yeah I read that when the board was revived later today.
Board goes down. Board comes back up. New rule on what can no longer be said. Hmmm.

This place is becoming another Reddit gulag. Scary. I had hoped and assumed that as a fairly conservative Christian site that welcomes diverse views, we’d be different. I guess not. If free speech is dead here, it’s dead everywhere. Christ, have mercy. China-think, here we come.

I am expecting that if wokeness continues marching on that CF cannot continue as it was. There is no room in wokedom for the unwoke, so either CF bends or breaks or more hopefully wokedom breaks.

I think this is the end, Chevy. :( Our freedoms are truly dead.
