Jeremiah 12:1-13 Lord, I plead my case before You, even though I know that You are right. Why do the unrighteous prosper? They grow and bear fruit, Your precepts are ever on their lips, yet far from their hearts. You know me, Lord, You see me, test my devotion to You and judge those who are unfaithful, I ask.

How long must the ungodly peoples desecrate Your Land? They say; “God does not see what we do”. Your righteous people cannot compete with those who despise them. Even so called friends turn against us: they are untrustworthy.

I have abandoned Israel and given My beloved people into the power of their enemies. They broke our covenant, so I turned My face from them.

The leaders of Israel have made My pleasant Land a desolation, to My sorrow. Evil peoples have taken over the Land from end to end, there is no peace for anyone. Whatever these people do, their harvest is a disappointment because of the Lord’s anger.

Jeremiah 12:14-17 These are the Words of the Lord about all those evil neighbors who have encroached onto the land which I allotted to My people, Israel, as their holding: I shall uproot them. Also, I shall uproot Judah from among them, but after I have uprooted them, I shall have pity on them and bring them back to the Land. IF they will learn the ways of My people, THEN Judah can establish families among My people. But any nation that will not listen, I will destroy.
Reference; REB. Some verses abridged.

Lord, bring on Your judgement….. Many people profess to follow You, but true Christianity is far from their hearts. Isaiah 1:18-20, Romans 10:9-10, Isaiah 48:1-2.

Your true Christian peoples are persecuted and oppressed… 1 John 3:13-14, 1 Peter 1:6

Test my devotion to You…. Everyone will face trials and testing. Luke 21:35, 1 Peter 4:12 If we stand firm, the Lord promises protection. Psalms 23:4, Isaiah 41:13, Isaiah 43:2

The ancient Israelites broke the Covenant and so were exiled out of the holy Land and dispersed. Jeremiah 7:15 Jeremiah 2:7, Ezekiel 36:16-19, Amos 9:9

The atheistic, apostate and false religion followers…. who mostly inhabit the entire area of the holy Land at present, are an anathema to God. There can be no peace or prosperity like this. This is our situation today. Psalms 74:20, Ezekiel 36:3-7.

All the evil neighbors will be removed from all of the holy Land. Judah, too will be uprooted. Obadiah 12-16, Amos 2:4-6, Ezekiel 21:4

The condition for any Jews to come back again, is that they acknowledge the Messiah Jesus and follow the way of Christianity. Isaiah 26:8-9, Jeremiah 13:11, 1 John 2:22-23, Zephaniah 1:12

Any people group that refuses to listen will be destroyed….. Isaiah 1:27-28, Isaiah 66:15-17, Hebrews 10:26-27, Isaiah 66:24 & 15-17

The Land of Israel is the heritage of the Lord’s faithful Christian believers, now the righteous Israelites of God. Galatians 6:16 They will gather and settle there, Psalms 107:1-3, after the Lord clears and cleanses the Land, as He says He will in verse 14. Deuteronomy 32:34-43, Zephaniah 1:1-18, Isaiah 35:1-10, Revelation 6:12:17

You could have posted the first 20 chapters of Jeremiah really. The whole discourse is about the time of Jacob's Trouble. Israel will indeed break the covenant and go after other gods, but that hasn't happened yet. Israelites means Israelites. This isn't about you. This isn't about the church, let alone the church replacing Israel. Coveting is ugly and ugly doctrine follows it. There are many wolves in sheep's clothing in the church and they all hate Israel because they first hated God. What they DO reveals what they really believe, not what they say. Many search the scriptures, not to learn to walk in the ways of God for themselves, but to use God to control others and hammer their enemies. Coveting, jealousy, and bitterness are all blinding, and revealing.

But it is. WE Christians are the Israel of God. Galatians 6:14-16

Jeremiah 12:14 is perfectly plain; the Jewish State of Israel will be punished and only a remnant will survive. Romans 9:27
God WILL have His faithful peoples in His holy Land. Ezekiel 34:11-16, Isaiah 35:1-10, Romans 9:24-26
Great will be that time!

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.

Paul is simply saying that peace and mercy is for all who walk in faith, whether circumcised or not. Peace and mercy is for them [Gentiles to whom he is writing] AND upon the Israel of God. He makes a clear distinction.

Much has been written about this 'kai', or 'and' in Galatians 6:16.
I do not believe it means Christians and Israel separately. We Christians are the Overcomers for God, which Jacob was. We emulate him and are now the true Israelites of God.
The fate of Jewish Israel is their virtual demise and only a remnant will join with their Christian brethren. The nation that bears the proper fruit. Matthew 21:43.

You can take the word "and" out if you want to I suppose. It seems better to me to leave it and just accept that Paul was making a distinction. Why force it into what you want to believe? Why not let the words on the page build the house of understanding?

As my Revised English Bible does. There is no 'and' in verse 16.

It is those who demand that the Lord take them to heaven before any hard times come, who must have Jewish Israel on earth, to go thru the GT and who insist Paul is saying the Jews are the Israel of God.
A belief which cuts across just about all the rest of Paul's teachings.

Jeremiah 10:1-25 Listen Israel, My people. This is what the Lord says: Do not learn the ways of the nations or be worried by signs and portents. It is other peoples who are terrified by them. For the gods’ of the nations are shams, just as dumb as scarecrows. Do not fear them, they can do no harm, nor can they do any good. Where can any other be found like You, Lord? You are great and mighty, fear of You is a fitting tribute for the King of the nations. One and all, the nations are stupid and foolish, making idols of materialistic things and worshipping false gods. But the Lord is God in truth, a living God, the eternal King. The earth quakes and no nation can endure His fury. You can be sure, those false gods will disappear on the Day of the Lord’s wrath.

God made the heavens and the earth by His power, wisdom and knowledge. He controls the wind and rain. Everyone is brutish and ignorant and those who teach false doctrines, promote idolatry and divination will be discredited and will perish when the Day of Reckoning comes. Jacob’s God is not like these, for He is the creator of the universe. Israel are the people He claims as His own. Y’hovah/Y’eshuah is His Name.

Gather up your belongings, to leave the Land you who live under siege. For this is what the Lord says: This time, I shall throw out the whole population of the Land, I shall press them and squeeze them dry.

[Zion says:] Oh! The pain of my afflictions, I am laid low and must endure it. My dwellings are destroyed and my people have gone away. Their leaders are senseless, they do not enquire of the Lord, so their flock is scattered. Listen; a rumor comes, a great uproar from the North – a great horde is ready to make Judah desolate. Pour out Your fury on those nations that do not acknowledge You, for they have swallowed Jacob and desecrated his Land.

I am aware, Lord, that one’s ways are not of our own choosing, nor is it within our power to determine our course in life. Correct me, Lord, but with justice, not with anger, lest I be destroyed Ref: REB,NIV. Abridged and paraphrased

Do not be worried about earthquakes and storms, etc. They are natural events, we just hear about them more, due to better news reporting. We must avoid the idols of our time: materialism, atheism and false religions. Luke 21:34-36

On the Lord’s Day of vengeance, He will judge the idolaters and the godless leaders. Isaiah 66:15-17, Jeremiah 3:23-25, Ezekiel 20:30-31, Micah 5:10-15, Revelation 6:12-17

My people, the Israelites of God; get out, for this time the Land of Greater Israel will be cleared of all evil and apostate people’. Ezekiel 21:3, Jeremiah 12:14 All the Holy Land will become empty and desolate, then it will be regenerated, Isaiah 35:1-10, Ezekiel 36:8, and His people will gather to live there in peace and security. Isaiah 62:1-5, Zechariah 10:8-12, Ezekiel 34:11-16, Romans 9:24-26

A horde assembles against Judah” Psalm 83 – an Ishmaelite confederation. Micah 4:1

pour out Your fury’, the Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath against His enemies, those peoples and nations that do not acknowledge the Lord and hate His people. Haggai 2:22, Isaiah 66:15-16, Zech. 3:8, 2 Peter 3:7, Revelation 6:12-17

The Lord controls our destiny. We plead for His justice and mercy. Psalm 37:1-40 Pray for His protection on the great Day of His wrath against the nations.

Proverbs 3:25-26, Isaiah 43:2, 1 Corinthians 10:13, +

Some translations do remove the "and" in order to exalt themselves. However, check the original Greek. "Kai" is there plainly. But, this discussion isn't going to go anywhere. Why would you listen to me, who you do not know?

Believing that Paul was referring to two peoples in Galatians 6:16, creates a Biblical contradiction, as verses 14-15 prove.

I know that a general Jewish redemption is widely taught to Christians. But it is wrong and over 20 Prophesies say how the Lord will Judge and punish Judah. Only a remnant will survive. Isaiah 6:11-13, Amos 2:4-5, Romans 9:27, +
As Jeremiah 10:18 says.

We Christian believers ARE the Overcomers for God; literally the Israelites of God. As seen in each of the seven Church's of Revelation.

If the church is Israel, then it means the church is wrestling with God only to prevail at the very end. That is what Israel means. The just live by faith. Those without faith live by the law, given to Israel, a people in whom there is no faith, as Moses said. All God's covenants are good and shall come to pass.

From the Greek:

c. it joins to partitive words the general notion; so that it is equivalent to and in general, and in a word, in short: ...καί ἐπί τόν Ἰσραήλ τοῦ Θεοῦ, Galatians 6:16

I disagree. He was saying that those who walk in faith are the Israel of God.

In the following passage is there a distinction between "His servants" and those "that fear Him" or is it two different ways of referring to the same people?

Revelation 19:5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

All His servants fear Him, right? So, this is not referring to one group of "His servants" and another group of those that fear Him. It's just describing one group who are His servants that fear Him. Similarly, Galatians 6:14-16 is describing people who walk according to the rule of being made a new creation in Christ and those people make up the Israel of God.

These scriptures from the prophet Jeremiah, are written to the Jewish people. As nothing like what is described has happened in their history as yet, then all this must be a future event:

Jeremiah 4:3-4 These are the Words of the Lord to the people of Judah and Jerusalem: Prepare the ground, do not sow among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the service of the Lord, you people of Judah, dwellers in the Land. Or else the fire of My fury may blaze up and burn unquenched, because of your evil actions.

Jeremiah 4:5-9 Declare this in all Judah; blow the trumpet throughout the Land. Assemble into fortified areas, raise the signal- To Zion! Make for safety without delay, for disaster is approaching. The Destroyer of nations has risen from His lair, He is coming to devastate your Land. To make your cities waste and empty. Go into mourning, for the fierce anger of the Lord is not averted from us. On that Day, your leaders and officers will fail, your Rabbis and prophets will be punished. Jeremiah 13:11

Jeremiah 4:11-13 At that time, the people of Jerusalem will be told: A scorching wind from the desert heights bears down upon My people. It is more than a breeze for winnowing. A wind too strong for this will come at My bidding and this will be a judgement on them. It comes like clouds advancing, a whirlwind and storms, like attacking cavalry and swifter than eagles. Woe to us! For we are ruined. Jeremiah 13:24-25, Ezekiel 21:1-7, Zephaniah 1:14-18

Jeremiah 4:14-18 & 21 Jerusalem: cleanse your wrongdoings from your hearts and you may yet be saved. How long will you keep to your evil ways?
The news of this terrible event comes to us from the North. Tell the nations, proclaim the doom of Jerusalem. A great horde is coming from a distant place, shouting out against the cities of Judah. She is encircled by it because they have rebelled against their Maker. Their own ways and deeds have brought these things upon you, this is your punishment for your rebellion seated deep within you. How long must I warn them? But My people are foolish, they know nothing of Me, they lack understanding and know nothing of doing right.

Jeremiah 4:19-20 Oh how I writhe in anguish! I cannot keep silent, for I can hear the sounds of the battle cries. Crash follows crash and the whole Land goes down in ruin. Suddenly, it happens, in an instant – all is thrown down. Revelation 6:12-17

Jeremiah 4:29 At the sound of the approaching disaster, everyone is in flight, people crawl into the bushes and climb up the hills. Every town is deserted, no one lives there. Isaiah 22:1-14, Hosea 4:1-3

Jeremiah 4:23-28 I looked at the earth and it was in chaos, reeling to and fro and in darkness. No person could be seen. I looked, and the land was like a wilderness with the towns ruined and desolate, because of the fierce anger of the Lord. The whole earth will be in mourning for this, for now that I have made known My purpose, I shall not relent or change it.

Jeremiah 30:23-24 See what a fiery wind has gone out from the Lord. A whirlwind that sweeps around the heads of the wicked, the Lord’s anger is not to be turned aside until He has fully accomplished His purpose.

Jeremiah 30:4-7 This is what the Lord says to Israel and Judah: We have heard a cry of terror, of fear without relief, every face turns pale. How awful is that Day, there has been none like it. It is a time of anguish for Jacob, yet he will come through it safely.

This describes the Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, the next prophesied event, the Sixth Seal, in the near future. It will clear the way for His people, Christian Israelites, be they true descendants of Jacob or grafted in, to gather and settle in the new nation of Beulah, in all of the holy land.

Jeremiah 30:1-3 The Lord God of Israel, tells Jeremiah to write His words: The time is coming, when I shall restore the fortunes of My people, both Judah and Israel, and bring them back to take possession of the Land which I gave to their ancestors.

Jeremiah 30:8-22 In that Day, I shall break the yoke of servitude off their necks, they will serve only Me and David, their King, raised up for them. Do not be afraid, Israel, My servants, for I shall bring you back safe from afar, all your posterity from the lands where they are now. You will be at rest once more, secure and untroubled, for I am with you, to save you. The nations will be punished and you too, will be disciplined as you deserve.

Israel and Judah were punished for their sins by exile among the nations. Yet all who despoiled you will themselves be despoiled, I will heal your wounds.

The Lord says: I shall restore the fortunes of all Israel and show my love for his dwellings. Cities and houses will be rebuilt where they once were. From them, praise and merrymaking will be heard. My people will increase and be honored, their oppressors will be punished.

A ruler will appear, one of themselves, a governor will arise from among them. I will bring him near and let him approach Me. So you will be My people and I shall be your God.

Jeremiah 30:24b In days to come, you will understand.
Ref: REB. Verses abridged.

These wonderful promises to His servants, all of the Christian peoples, all grafted into the Tree that is Jesus – their heritage regenerated, brought back safely from afar, to take possession of their Land, secure and untroubled, cities and houses rebuilt, they will increase and be honored.

It is not hard to imagine, the ‘praise and merrymaking’ of His people after such amazing promises are fulfilled.

The King mentioned in Jeremiah 30:9 will be Jesus, after His Return. But, before the Return, ‘a leader will appear, one of themselves’, he will be able to approach the Lord in the same way as Moses and David did, so long ago.

All the Lord’s righteous people, will live in peace and prosperity in the Land of Greater Israel, the new country of Beulah, Isaiah 62:1-5, after the clearance brought about by the Day of the Lord’s fiery wrath. They will send out 144,000 missionaries to proclaim the good news of the coming Kingdom of God. Isaiah 66:19.

The fate of Jewish Israel:
Jeremiah 9:7-10a These are the Words of the Lord: I shall refine and test them. How else should I deal with My people? They speak lies and place traps for the unwary. Shall I fail to punish them for this? I will exact vengeance, and on the mountains and pastures there will be weeping and wailing. Jer.3:21, Psalms 30:5

Jeremiah 9:10b-11 The Land is scorched and untrodden, not even birds or beasts remain. Jerusalem and the towns of Judah are ruined and uninhabited. Jer. 12:4

Jeremiah 9:12 Who is wise enough to understand all this? Who has the Lord’s command to explain it? Why has the Land become a dead Land, burned and laid waste?

Jeremiah 9:13-20 It is because they rejected My Law, which I set before them, they neither obeyed Me or kept My Laws. They follow the promptings of their wicked hearts, as their forefathers have taught them. Therefore, I shall make them eat and drink bitterness, I will scatter them among the nations, harass and punish them there. Wail and lament, for you have left your Land and your houses are in ruins. Isaiah 10:23, Isaiah 28:21-22

The Kingdom of Israel, conquered in 720BC and finally exiled in 712 BC, then Judah in 585BC and again in 70AD. The exile of the northern 10 tribes still applies, part of the House of Judah have returned to part of the Land, but they do not fully obey the Lord, so they and all peoples, remain under the threat of punishment.

Jeremiah 9:21-22 Death has come in the windows and entered our safe places. People in the streets and squares are cut off. Corpses lie everywhere, like swaths behind the reaper, with no one left to gather them. Joel 2:9-11, Jer. 25:33, Jer. 7:32-34

This is the result of the Great Day of the Lords vengeance and wrath. A massive CME sunstrike will ‘scorch the land ‘, ‘burned and laid waste’. Underground shelters will be the only protection. This is amazingly prophesied for the Jewish remnant, in Isaiah 29:1-4.....you will speak out of the earth. Their voices will squeak ghostlike from underground.

Jeremiah 9:25-26 The time is coming, says the Lord when I shall punish all the circumcised. The Egyptians, the Jewish people, the Edomites, the Jordanians and all who live on the fringes of the desert. For all alike are uncircumcised and even the whole House of Israel is really uncircumcised in heart. Ezekiel 30:1-5

The prophesy about scattering His people among the nations has been fulfilled and now we await the full and final regathering back into the Promised Land. In order for that to happen, the great clearance and cleansing as prophesied here and in Jeremiah 12:14, Deuteronomy 32:34-43, will take place. Then the ‘scorched Land ‘ will be regenerated as in;

Ezekiel 36:8-12 But you, Land of Israel, you will grow your fruit trees and crops, for the homecoming of My people is near. I shall settle on you the whole peoples of Israel. They will be more prosperous than in days of old. Thus you will know that I am the Lord. Jeremiah 29:13-14, Ezekiel 36:36
Reference: REB, NIV, KJV, some verses abridged.

His faithful Christian people will know the Lord by His blessings to them, not by the presence of Jesus, until His Return, to come later.

Great are the promises to His righteous people!

Jeremiah 11:6-8 The Lord said: Proclaim the terms of the Covenant to Judah. I gave solemn warning to your forefathers, obey Me – I told them. But they did not obey, so I brought upon them all the penalties that I had warned about.

Both Israel and Judah were exiled from the Land, as punishment for their sins. Jeremiah 2:1-13

Jeremiah 11:9-14 The Lord says: Now, the inhabitants of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem conspire against Me, both the House of Israel and the House of Judah have gone back to the sins of their forefathers. Therefore, I am about to bring upon them a disaster from which they cannot escape. They may cry to Me for help, but I will not listen. Do not pray for these people, for I will not listen to them when they call to Me in the hour of their disaster.

Those Jews in Israel and the rest of the Israelites scattered around the world, who refuse to acknowledge and obey the Lord, will not be protected in “the hour of disaster”.

Jeremiah 11:15-17 What right have My people to be in My holy place, with their sinful ways? Can any sacrifice or offering atone for your evil ways and ward off the disaster that threatens you? Now, you will feel sharp anguish, once you were His holy people, now, with the roar of a mighty storm, He will burn up and consume you. The Lord, who had planted you has decreed disaster for both the House of Israel and the House of Judah because of their evil ways, provoking His anger.

burn up and consume’ - The coming fire judgement, prophesied over 70 times. Isa 30:26

Jeremiah 12:14 These are the words of the Lord about all those evil neighbors who have encroached onto the Land which I allotted to My people Israel, as their holding: I shall uproot them from their places and I shall uproot the House of Judah from among them.

Jeremiah 21:14 I shall punish you as your deeds deserve, I shall kindle a fire in your Land, it will devour everything around it.

Jeremiah 25:30-33 The Lord roars from on high, He thunders from His dwelling place, He shouts against all the inhabitants of the Land. The great noise reaches the ends of the earth, the Lord brings a charge against all mankind and has handed the wicked over to the sword. Ruin spreads from nation to nation from a worldwide mighty tempest and those slain on that day will lie scattered from one end of the earth to the other, they will be as dung spread over the ground. Psalm 18:7-15, Isaiah 66: 15-17, Zeph. 3:8

Isaiah 29:5-6 Yet the horde of your enemies will crumble into dust. Suddenly, in an instant, punishment will come from the Lord with thunder, earthquake and a flame of devouring fire.
Reference: REB, NIV, KJV. Some verses abridged.

This terrible Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, will bring severe judgement to all the inhabitants of the Middle East, Ezekiel 30:1-5. The Coronal Mass Ejection that the Lord will use on that Day will affect the whole world, and then Jeremiah 30,31 and Ezekiel 36, tell us how His righteous people will gather in all the Holy Land, to be His people and the Lord, their God. Romans 9:24-26

Jeremiah 50:22-25 The noise of battle is heard in the land, the sound of destruction. See how the hammer of the whole world is broken and shattered, how desolate is Babylon among the nations! Babylon, you have set a snare for yourself, now you are caught unawares, because you challenged the Lord – the Creator. He has opened His armory and brought out the weapons of His wrath, for this is a work for the Sovereign Lord to do in the lands of His enemies.

‘Babylon’ is a metaphor for the ungodly nations and alliances. The final fulfilment of this prophecy will be the Lord’s Day of vengeance and wrath. ‘The hammer of the whole world’ refers to military power. ‘The weapon of His wrath’- will be a massive CME sunstrike. Deuteronomy 32:34-35, Isaiah 30:26-28, Isaiah 66:15-16

Jeremiah 50:26-27 & 29-30 Come against them from every quarter, destroy their food stores. Wreak destruction upon them, put all warriors to the sword. Woe betide them their Day of Reckoning has come. Rain arrows upon them from all sides, let no one escape. Repay their deeds, for they have defied the Holy One of Israel. Therefore their young men will fall in the streets and all soldiers will lie still in death on that Day. Isaiah 34:5-8, Psalms 46:8-9, Psalms 76:3

Jeremiah 50:31-32 I am against you, you proud and insolent people, now your time has come - your Day of Reckoning, you will fall, with no one to help you. I will kindle a fire in your towns and it will devour all around them. Ezekiel 21:1-5, Amos 2:4-5

This is the fire judgement prophesied over 70 times in the Bible Malachi 4:1, Isaiah 9:18-20, Joel 2:1-11

Jeremiah 50:33-34 The Lord says this; The peoples of Israel and Judah are oppressed, held fast in foreign lands. But they have a powerful advocate, His Name is the Lord God. He will vigorously defend their cause, so that He may bring rest to their Land, but turmoil to His enemies.
Isaiah 17:4-14, Lamentations 4:22, Ezekiel 36:7-12

Jeremiah 50:4-6 My people were like lost sheep, their leaders have not kept them safe and they have forgotten their true inheritance. In those days, at that time, the peoples of Israel and Judah will come together and in tears go in search of their God. They will ask the way to Zion, turning their faces toward that Land. They will say: Let us join ourselves to the Lord in an everlasting Covenant, never to be forgotten.

..search for their God: must be before the Return of Jesus.

Jeremiah 50:28 I hear the voices of those who flee and escape from Babylon [the godless lands] They declare in Zion, how the Lord has taken vengeance, retribution for His Holy place.
Reference: REB, NIV, KJV. Some verses abridged.

Psalms 25:12-14, Isaiah 54:10, Jeremiah 32:37-41, Ezekiel 37:21-28, Hosea 14:4-9

Verse 28 is very significant. It says how those who survive the Day of Reckoning and who emigrate from ‘foreign lands’, will then live in the Holy Land. His Christian people: ‘like lost sheep’, will travel to and gather in their inheritance, all the area given to Abraham. Galatians 3:26-29 They will praise the Lord for His deliverance and how he has cleared the Land of enemies. Psalms 58:10-11

Jeremiah 23:1-2 Woe betide those shepherds who let My flock be scattered and lost. You have not watched over them, but I am watching you to punish you for your misdeeds.
James 3:1, Ezekiel 34:7-10, Jeremiah 16:17, Jeremiah 10:21

Jeremiah 23:3-4 I, Myself will gather the remnant of My sheep from all the lands to which I have dispersed them. I shall bring them back to their own Land, where they will be fruitful and increase. I will appoint shepherds, who will tend them and they will live in peace and security. Ezekiel 34:11-16, Isaiah 35:1-10, Romans 9:24-26

This is the second Exodus, the gathering and resettling of those of His Christian people who are protected during this forthcoming fire judgement. The Lord will raise up righteous leaders for them. The Land will be fruitful and He will protect them from enemies.
Ezekiel 36:8, Ezekiel 38:8b-9, Zechariah 10:8-10

Jeremiah 23:5-6 The days are coming when a Righteous Branch will come from David’s line, a wise King, who will maintain justice. Judah and Israel will be kept safe and will live undisturbed in the Land.

The ‘days are coming’, verses 5-6 refer to a later period; the Millennium reign of Jesus.

Jeremiah 23:7-8 Therefore, the time is coming when people will no longer praise the Lord for bringing His people out of Egypt, but praise Him for gathering the descendants of the Israelites back from all the lands where He had dispersed them. They will again live on their own soil.
Therefore the time is coming’ means – therefore, before the Millennium the Lord will instigate the return of His people back into their inheritance. Ezekiel 20:34

Jeremiah 23:9-15 Of the prophets: I am weak because of the Lord’s Holy Words. For now, the Land is full of godless people, prophet and priest alike are godless and I see their evil deeds. I see things most horrible, adulterers and hypocrites, to Me all the inhabitants of Jerusalem are like Sodom and Gomorrah. Therefore, I shall bring disaster upon them on the Day of Reckoning. Ezekiel 22:26-28, Jeremiah 14:14-16, Jeremiah 10:13-14

Jeremiah 23:16-17 Do not listen to what the so called prophets say, those who buoy you up with false hopes and give voice to their own fancies. It is not the Lord’s Words that they speak. They say to all who follow their false teachings: prosperity will be yours and no harm will befall you.
Prosperity theology and rapture theories are the fancies and mistaken beliefs of many Christians today. Isaiah 50:10-11, Ezekiel 13:1-16, Jeremiah 6:13-15

Jeremiah 23:18 For which of them have stood in the counsel of the Lord and received His Word and taken heed of it, with obedience? Psalms 74:9 A serious indictment against those end time preachers, scholars and authors, who fail to properly discern and understand the prophetic Word, yet they promulgate and make money from their own theories, ideas and incorrect teachings. Psalms 50:16-19, Isaiah 30:10, Micah 3:5-7

Jeremiah 23:19 See what a scorching wind goes out from the Lord, a furious whirlwind, that whirls around the heads of the wicked. A ‘scorching wind, a furious whirlwind’, is another description that fits a coronal mass ejection, the fire judgement that the Lord will use on His Day of vengeance and wrath. Psalms 18:7-18, Malachi 4:1

Jeremiah 23:20 The Lord’s anger will not be turned aside until He has fully accomplished His purposes. In days to come, you will truly understand. Hosea 14:9, 2 Peter 1:19

Jeremiah 23:21-22 I did not send these prophets, yet they go out with a message that is false. If only they proclaim My true message to My people and turn them from their evil ways!

Jeremiah 23:23-24 Am I a God near at hand only – do I not fill heaven and earth? Can anyone hide in some secret place and I not see them? Amos 9:1

Jeremiah 23:25-40…An indictment upon false teachers and prophets. Jeremiah 5:30-31, James 3:1

Deuteronomy 32:28-29 You are a people devoid of understanding. If only you had the wisdom to discern what your end will be!

Jeremiah 5:1-2 Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem, look and take note, search for anyone who acts justly or one who seeks the truth – that I might forgive that city. People may swear by the Lord, but in fact they perjure themselves.
Is it possible to find anyone there today, acting in real truth and justice?

Jeremiah 5:3 Go; You look for righteousness. You have punished Your people, but they took no heed and refused to learn. They hardened their hearts and would not repent of their sins.
Israel and Judah, punished by their exiles, but they still don’t truly repent.

Jeremiah 5:4-5 The Lord thought; these are only the common people, those that don’t know the Laws of their God. I will go to their leaders and teachers, they should know the right ways. But, they too, have gone away from the right path and no longer keep the Laws or trust the Lord.
Jeremiah 5:6-9 So they will be struck down by disaster, for their rebellious deeds and apostasies are beyond counting. Why should I forgive them for this? Your children have forsaken Me, with idols and adulteries. Shall I fail to punish them for this? I will exact vengeance on these people.

Jeremiah 5:10-13 Prune the vine, lop off the branches, for they are not the Lord’s. Faithless are Israel and Judah, both faithless to Me, they both deny their God, saying: He does not see or care – no harm will come to us, we won’t see war or want. The prophets just spoke empty words, meaningless wind. Therefore, because they talk this way, I shall make My words a fire in your mouth and it will burn up these people like brushwood.
Apostate, atheistic Judah, the Jewish people, and Israel, the Christian peoples, are still similar to their ancestors. The clear prophetic warnings were ignored then and are ignored now. The ‘burning’ did not happen then, still future.

Jeremiah 5:14-19. I am bringing against you a distant nation, of mighty warriors, they will conquer you and destroy cities. But in those days, I shall not make an end of you. When you ask; Why has the Lord done this to us? You will say; it was because we forsook our God, so we must serve foreigners and live in another land.
In ancient times Assyria conquered Israel then Babylon conquered Judah. Now their decreed punishment by exile is nearing completion.

Jeremiah 5:20-25 Proclaim this to the people of Israel and Judah: Listen you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, but see nothing, ears and hear nothing. Do you not fear your Maker and tremble before Me? But My people have a defiant and rebellious heart. They have rebelled and gone their own way. They did not acknowledge how the Lord gives the rain and their prosperity. Their wrong doing has upset natures order and their sins have kept away her bounty.

Jeremiah 5:26-31 For among My people there are scoundrels, who lay traps and prey upon others, They grow rich and fat, by turning a blind eye to wickedness. Shall I fail to punish them for this? There is an appalling outrage in this Land. Prophets prophesy lies, the Rabbis and priests rule by their own authority – that is the way the people like it. What will ye do in the end thereof? Isaiah 51:1-30
