'We cannot receive Jesus Christ, our Creator, while at the same time subscribing to a law which is allowing us to destroy the lives which are given of God,' declared the former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

(LifeSiteNews) – In a new interview with LifeSiteNews, Cardinal Gerhard Müller has decried the actions of pro-abortion politicians who present themselves for Holy Communion, saying this is an “absolute contradiction” of the “love of God.”

Asked by LifeSiteNews whether pro-abortion politicians such as Joe Biden should be allowed to receive the Holy Eucharist, Cardinal Müller answered that this would be an “absolute contradiction.”

“We cannot receive Jesus Christ, our Creator, [while] at the same time subscribing [to] a law which is allowing [us] to destroy the lives which are given of God,” declared the former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) in the wide-ranging interview with LifeSiteNews.

The comments came shortly before staunchly pro-abortion and yet self-proclaimed Catholic U.S. President Joe Biden met with Pope Francis in the Vatican today. Biden has previously protested against any measure to deny him Holy Communion for his support for abortion – a restriction that would be in line with Canon Law – saying that Pope Francis “gives me Communion.”

However, for the former prefect of the CDF, such an action is not permitted. Pro-abortion politicians might be receiving “Holy Communion with their mouth, but not with their heart,” stated Müller.

There is still the possibility that Biden is not consciously aware of what abortion entails, and that he could possibly be further into dementia than is publicly known.
In other words that he is so very unaware that he is condoning the murder of living children, and is not aware that what he condones is sin in the eyes of the Church.

The greater problem is that the priests who serve him have knowingly chosen to do so, and thus they are in greater condemnation than he is.
That could be likened to the adult who breaks the rules and buys booze and cigarettes for underage teens.

He has not been suffering from severe dementia that long. Eight years ago he wasn't demented but he was willing to join the most pro-abortion administration ever up to that point. And not as a pro-life balancer to the ticket. I think he has to have a clue, particularly as he was way back actually pro-life. He learned that to advance his political career as a Democrat he had to make the change. And he did.

Whether he is aware today of what position he chose back then when his eyes were wide open is speculative. But I don't think he never knew. I would like to excuse anyone from the monstrousness of knowingly willingly choosing to hold that position. I think many women, for example, are pushed into abortions they do not want. I think old Joe Biden, back in his more cognizant days, knew and willed to make his change for political gain. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

Muller is just repeating plain Catholic teaching. And being heroic in doing so. But I guess the worst that can happen to him now is being unceremoniously removed as a cardinal. Born in 1947 he can still vote in a new conclave until some time in 2027 unless the pope removes that right from him.

The cardinal noted that since a unique baby is formed at 'the first moment of conception,' as is consistent with established science, abortion is the deliberate killing of a human being and therefore 'murder.'

PHILADELPHIA (LifeSiteNews) – In a LifeSiteNews exclusive interview, a former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) said that those who promote abortion apply the same “eugenic and racist” logic used to justify the murderous Nazi regime.

German theologian Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, who led the CDF from 2012 until 2017 when Pope Francis replaced him with Jesuit Cardinal Luis F. Ladaria, affirmed to LifeSiteNews correspondent Jim Hale that “it is not a human right to kill another person.”

The cardinal noted that since a unique baby is formed at “the first moment of conception,” as is consistent with established science, abortion is the deliberate killing of a human being and therefore “murder.”

Although it is a “natural right” for man and wife to come together to become parents, Müller stressed that “the mother is not the owner of the life” and that the parents instead have a duty to care for their child.

Moreover, “every human being is an independent reality [ordained] towards God,” the former CDF head stated, leading him to accuse those who would seek to permit abortion of a “fascistic, totalitarian attitude to demand for himself the right to kill another [person].”

Continuing, the cardinal highlighted that “those totalitarian societies [and political] parties who reclaimed for themselves the right to kill other persons
themselves [by] saying the embryo is not a full human being.”

“But with this logic they justified also slavery in the United States [by] saying black people from Africa are not full and real human beings.” This logic “goes absolutely against human reason, absolutely against all form of conscience, but they quiet their consciences by declaring these people … not in the full sense human beings,” Müller said.

Müller noted that this logic has been employed throughout history, notably among the Nazis.

The faithful and orthodox Cardinals are basically doing the Pope’s job for him. They are Poping for the Pope. Which is pretty cool, incredible, and brave of them. They are being good shepherds and rulers, while being careful not to blatantly disrespect the Pope, or point anyone away from the Church.

This is an incredibly difficult, sensitive, risky thing that they are doing, but they are doing an incredible job. I think this may be the first time we have ever seen Cardinals politely yet firmly critique and contradict the Pope without openly doing either.

Well, anything is possible, but I think you are being most generous with the President. Anyway, as stated previously, even if he is unaware now, he certainly was aware a few years ago.
