The researchers are obviously right handed affected by confirmation bias.
It a well known fact left handers are smarter..........:)

The relationship between intelligence and handedness remains a matter of debate. The present study is a systematic review of 36 studies (totaling 66,108 individuals), which have measured full IQ scores in different handedness groups. Eighteen of those studies were further included in three sets of meta-analyses (totaling 20,442 individuals), which investigated differences in standardized mean IQ scores in (i) left-handers, (ii) non-right-handers, and (iii) mixed-handers compared to right-handers. The bulk of the studies included in the systematic review reported no differences in IQ scores between left- and right-handers. In the meta-analyses, statistically significant differences in mean IQ scores were detected between right-handers and left-handers, but were marginal in magnitude (d = −0.07); the data sets were found to be homogeneous. Significance was lost when the largest study was excluded. No differences in mean IQ scores were found between right-handers and non-right-handers as well as between right-handers and mixed-handers. No sex differences were found. Overall, the intelligence differences between handedness groups in the general population are negligible.

50 years ago I read a stat that said 4% of the world is left handed and 18% of all pro athletes are left handed. Has nothing to do with the OP, but then that’s normal.

Are those use both hands twice as smart?
I can rub my head and pat my stomach, then switch to patting my head and rubbing my stomach, and can switch back and forth randomly or symmetrically with no hesitation. Which is odd. I also throw a ball left handed, though I'm not left handed.

There was a theory that left-handers became cleverer and more dextrous than right-handers in some ways because they had to continually adapt their behaviour & movements to cope with a world of things designed largely for right-handers... as a left-hander myself, I've certainly become more ambidextrous over the years, and have no trouble with trivialities like writing upside-down, mirror-writing, or writing right-handed. But that's a kind of spatial 'intelligence' that can be learned.

A video which contradicts the findings....
Interesting; that's the interpretation I've heard for a long while (although I don't recall complex mathematics being an area of difference!). Given the hypothesis in that video, you'd expect to see a greater difference where the environment is significantly 'handed', e.g. wealthier, more technological societies, than simpler societies where, perhaps, writing would be the most significant handed activity, and few people would write...

I'm dubious about left handers adapting to a right handed world makes them smarter.
There is counter evidence that forced adaptation increases the probability of learning disabilities and stuttering.
As a lefty I was "encouraged" at home and school to use my right hand due to religious bigotry.
I doubt it had any positive or negative effect on my intellectual capacity except for poor manual dexterity and a disdain for the Catholic education system.:)

Maybe left handers are supposedly smarter due to biological rather than environmental factors.

On the subject of mathematical skills vs handedness, early studies could not find a distinction but more recent ones suggest otherwise.

Yes, it's all a bit uncertain. Left-handers generally have more incentive to use their other hand, but whether that makes a significant difference in other respects is moot.
