As ever the drug war keeps on pumping out harmful, mostly, unintended consinquncs.

ANywho, does this mean that we can move the decongestants back out from behind the counter?

It still astounds me that after decades of failed attempts, lawmakers still think that "punishing the behavior" or "going after the supply side" is somehow the answer to drug abuse issues.

Ironically enough, a lot of those prohibition efforts are carried out by the political faction that claims to have the best handle on the laws of supply and demand.

The drug war is hardly the only place where Republicans ignore the economics they love to tout in other instances *cough* gas prices *cough*.

Why do you hate freedom? ;)

Yeah, the gas prices thing does kind of make me laugh.

I went down to Amish country here in Ohio a few weekends ago, and had to stop for gas in one of the more "rural" counties... someone had taken the time and effort to put these stickers on all of the pumps:

So, that basically means that there are people who think the entirety of the economic situation is solely defined on whether they pay $2.89 vs. $3.27 for a gallon of gas.

Even if you're rocking a 20 gallon tank in your vehicle, that's a difference of $7 a fill-up.

Yet, I didn't see any of those guys slapping Trump "I did that" stickers on the number of things that got more expensive thanks to Trump's "trade war".

Apparently the mindset is
"If it costs the average household an additional $1,000 a year, then that's freedom because Trump is being tough on China!"

"But if I have to pay an extra $300/year for fuel in my Ford F-250 (that I bought to own the libs, because I know how much gas guzzlers trigger them), then that's communism!!!"
