Some mean and nasty person or group has posted pictures of overweight soldiers on the internet. This is no doubt the work of China's psychological warfare division of the PLA. It is reported (no joke) that some service personnel have suffered mental health problems. The department of defence has been attempting to get the pictures taken down.

Defence (if that is even the right word to use now) has finally succumbed to years of infiltration by woke progressives who want to make camouflage uniforms into rainbow colours. This should not be too hard as some uniforms are made in China already.

Australians fought valiantly in two world wars, in Korea, Malaya and Vietnam. They served with distinction in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as patrolling the Persian Gulf seas. As an ex-serviceman myself, I am stunned by the lack of spine shown by people paid to defend the nation. Apparently, all China has to do is do a leaflet drop over ADF bases mocking the appearance of soldiers. Why waste bullets when they can be incapacitated by a mocking meme? Our only hope is that China will be too busy laughing to launch an invasion. In the meantime, I recommend that Australians in general learn Mandarin.

The only story I can find related to this (since there's no link in the OP) is a two month old piece about a survey of army personnel using a strict medical definition of "overweight" which found that 17% of active duty personnel met the definition.

And maybe someone tweeted about it

I think we're still safe from invasion.

If a serviceman can suffer mental issues because of fat shaming, I think we are in real trouble. This is just symptomatic of what has been going on in the ADF. Marching with the gay mardi gras? I'm sure that has the PLA shaking in its boots. With laughter, that is.

When I served, most of us were somewhere to the right of Ghengis Kahn. We were taught some of the psychological warfare tricks so that we could deal with them. Mental health treatment was available, but not often needed. We had the thickest possible skin and insults were just a part of the camaraderie. That did not serve me so well in civilian life, but I adapted. War is hell and I hope and pray that we never get involved again. Part of the reason that countries are left alone is because the military is strong enough to defend them. Woke and progressive may OK in civilian life, but not when someone is shooting at you.

It would be a real shame if North Korean soldiers saw this. Australia might have to be the new home of thousands of more defectors.

Yes, North Korea is a perfect example of why communism is a failure. There are also elements of National Socialism. Hitler wanted Germany to be entirely self sufficient. He chose to take rather than trade, which backfired spectacularly. Kim also wants to be entirely self sufficient. North Koreans pay a terrible price for this folly. I hope and pray that the Kim regime collapses and the people get free.

This statement makes me cringe a little bit. On paper, communism is without a doubt the best form of economics. Look at ants and bees, those organisms are without a doubt the most successful organisms on the planet. Just to give you something to wrap your head around, for every pound of man there are 100 pounds of ant.

Unfortunately, human beings are greedy and selfish and THAT is why communism doesn't work so well with us. This is a subtle yet powerful point because it isn't that communism is evil, but rather the human application of communism isn't so good because communism enables way more corruption :-(

Sadly, the Regime will never collapse. it has reached a steady-state equilibrium. They have enough resources to continue their existence as is, indefinitely. Their only export and trade good is Instability. Every 5 to 10 years, they rattle their sabers and the World collectively bargains with them until NK is happy enough to stop rattling. The regime then gets to show its people that NK forced the world to capitulate and thus the regime stays in power.

Hitler had to invade Russia. He went about it the wrong way, but the initial successes were substantial. He could have had Ukraine without a shot fired. They hated the Russians until the Wermacht atrocities began.

Hitler had flagged his intentions in "Mein Kampf". He developed a racial superiority theory, based on Darwinism, that demanded "Living Space" for what he saw as the superior race. Europe was well populated. Russia was enormous with relatively small population. Hitler's biggest problem was oil. He needed the oil fields to fuel his armies. So Hitler envisaged an enslaved Europe and occupied Russia. He came surprisingly close to success. He would have done what China has done to Tibet, flood the territory with Germans and drive out the Russians.

Communism is a rubbish system because it has an entirely wrong view of human nature. God's principles require reward for effort. Capitalism would cheerfully pay people nothing. Communism takes the fruit of someone else's work and controls where it ends up. Constant famine, reduced standard of living, lower life expectancy, lower morale - all the result of communism. China learned this and ditched communism. The economy is highly controlled and artificially stimulated, but it's worked up to now. I suspect that the economy is about to tank and China will take years to recover. Xi may have overreached himself. We can only hope.

The reason that NK survives is mostly China. They do not want a Western power on their border so they will keep NK afloat. Western ignorance of Chinese and Korean culture is also a major problem. China's rise was funded and enabled by the West's greed, arrogance, impatience and ignorance. China outsmarted the West. And what was not handed over, they stole. North Korea has also outsmarted the Western world. They do not play by our rules.
