I think it’s worth noting that no matter how one feels about the vaccines, alarm bells about the mandates are ringing louder. Along with alarm bells about digitalizing our identities, and excluding / shaming people. I sense a social credit system on its way.

We already sort of have an unofficial social credit system; it’s called “post something sensible on social media, and get fired from your job”. This stuff is coming. It’s good to be aware of what voices of concern are saying. Something creepy is on its way. It might be a good idea to study how Saints have dealt with oppressive regimes.

I don’t think the vaccines are innately bad or necessarily harmful (for most people), but am concerned that they are being used to normalize passes, electronic identities, and crackdowns on disagreeing with the media.

Very good point!
Remembering Joan of Arc and her courage, Duns Scotus, and his teaching on the virginity of Mary,
Fr. Jerzy Popieluszko, and his courage against the government of his day, that cost him his life, and how he inspired other Polish people.
There are countless Saints who stepped up when God called them. And they loved Him so well that they thought it was worth the sacrifice necessary to risk their very lives, for the beauty and the Glory of Christ's sacrifice for us.
Their pure love carried them through to victory, just like it did Christ Jesus.

This is important stuff. I think this may be heading our way. What do we do? John Paul II, I think, foresaw this. He urged us to pray, especially the Rosary. Christians who do not pray the Rosary can still pray for inner strength, wisdom, discernment, consolation, and a deep and abiding love of Christ. They can pray the Jesus Prayer, too, and spend time alone in prayer.

We can fast, too, or at least fast from enjoyable foods. We can try to get our souls and bodies ready for trials. We can stay in touch on here, and encourage one another.

I think it’s a dry run. Of sorts. Or, a dry run for something about as bad as what China has.

I’m not sure if this *is* the end, per se, but I think we can look forward to more government propaganda, increased surveillance on-line, and mandatory digitalizing of our lives, opinions, and thoughts.

This is why I keep warning people, get the heck off of social media. It’s being weaponized, and there’s no going back. One brother on here got arrested for a Facebook comment. He’s out now, thank God, but this will only get worse.

I use FB only to look at cute cats and interact with a couple of people there who have come from CF. Other than that, I have no motivation at all to use it. I don't know how people are "looking at their phones" all day at FB; isn't there something else to do?

But anyway, I don't know if you are referring to the same "brother," but I've noticed a certain person gone again.

I definitely feel that all this control is a precursor a sort of initial dry run to gauge public reaction to determine how quickly they can move. it has not been encouraging that most have rolled over like a dog for treats. Hello Australia , New Zealand and Canada.

I am now convinced that the key to success here is (in part) to not listen to the media, and allow our faith in Christ and our senses to determine what we do and what we don’t do.

The media is superlative at immediately brainwashing people, and they don’t even realize it’s happening. “Makes sense, seems sensible.” I’ve fallen for it, over and over. Propaganda. We haven’t had real news in decades.

I'm not anti-vaccine, but quite anti-mandate.

All this vaccine mess is getting evil over here in New Zealand. I just heard the Prime Minister today talking about the new framework to keep safe from Covid. I have been crying since. Once all of New Zealand reaches 90% vaccinated, the vaccine certificates/passports will go into effect. Most businesses will have to follow the rules of not letting anyone but the vaccinated shop in the stores, this includes places like beauty shops, gyms, restaurants, possibly churches, etc. If they don't comply the government will shut them down. The PM said if we want to go to these places or enjoy going out, we better be fully vaccinated or we will miss out on the fun and even Christmas. This is very upsetting as I refuse to get vaxxed, I just feel in my spirit that it is dangerous for me to get it, plus, the ones they are using here involve aborted fetal cells. There is only one I would take, called Novavax, it is very safe, not an mRNA or adenovirus and not made using the aborted fetal cells. I am so angry with New Zealand, they don't want to approve it, so, if they don't get it, I will not get vaxxed. I am 64 and Covid scares me but those vaccines scare me more. I feel like I am living in a nightmare, I feel trapped with no where to turn.

Tell the folks you do business with that because of government regulation you will no longer be able to do business with them. Tell them how much you used to appreciate their business and that you will be sad not to be able to do business with them in the future. Let them know that if the government would change their position you will be back as a customer. Let the businesses complain to the government for you.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't work, most businesses are for all this, some even have said they are glad the government will be enforcing this. I am the minority here, you can't believe how nasty people are here to those that won't get the vax, I am truly afraid to even tell anyone that I haven't had it yet. They're obsessed with it.

Last Saturday the entire country (both Islands) had an all day "Vaxathon"they had entertainment, gave monetary prizes away, and in some areas folks were going door to door to homes that were not vaxxed. I didn't stick my nose out the door and had our gate locked.

Very odd behavior by the government. It is paternalistic . I couldn’t function in that type of society.

in the US state of New Hampshire they have a quote on their license plates “live free or die”. It is a quote from the revolutionary war era . I think it is appropriate.
