Hi @hislegacy

Just so there's no confusion as to 'what' questions I've been waiting on you to answer:

But you choose to see this issue as some immediate addition to our national debt. Why? You choose to totally ignore that the actual facts show that the last administration added $9T to the national debt. Why? As a man with a Masters degree, you must be reasonably intelligent. Are you, therefore, able to answer these last two questions? Why do you choose to ignore anything 'bad' that may have happened under the last administration, but openly condemn very similar occurrences under the current administration? I'd like you to actually pray about this before you answer, minister. Could it be that your mind is blinded by party affiliation to a worldly political system?

From post #334. I have looked again over your responses since then and don't see any attempt to answer those questions of you.

Four questions for which I haven't seen any response.

yes, also

we keep our vehicles as long as we can & save up for next one in meantime

when I was working, we put extra pymt on mortgage monthly so paid off house early
plus we did a lot of work on house which bldr let us do to save $
i.e. we did ALL the painting/staining ourselves
husband/his dad built kitchen cabinets
husband repairs everything in house so rarely hire anyone

Hi @mama2one

You go girl!!! I'm kind of a 'do-it-yourselfer', too. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my kitchen cabinet doors from the old 1960's curved edge panel doors to shaker style doors. I have remodeled both of the bathrooms in the last year with new appliances and new tile. Rebuilt both the shower surround in the master and tub surround in the main. I've also, in the last year, built a 16x20 workshop with 100amp electrical service where I'm able to do this kind of work. God is good! That He has given me these talents and the financial resources to be able to be debt free throughout it all.

As my SS and other funds are established, I shouldn't have any real financial woes for my remaining years on this earth. God deserves all the glory and praise for that. And I tithe at 10%.

God bless,
Ted

Four questions for which I haven't seen any response.

God bless,
Ted

Question #1 - "But you choose to see this issue as some immediate addition to our national debt. Why?"

Answer to Question #1 - I have never said such a thing - I cannot address what I have not said, nor can I answer something that doesn't exist beyond you imgination.

Question #2 - "You choose to totally ignore that the actual facts show that the last administration added $9T to the national debt. Why?"

Answer to Question #2 - Because the last Administration is not the topic of the thread. -

Question #3 - Why do you choose to ignore anything 'bad' that may have happened under the last administration, but openly condemn very similar occurrences under the current administration?

Answer to Question #3 - Because the thread is not about the last administration. It is about the current administration and the effects of their actions.

"The very same actions?" When it comes to gas - which is the topic of the thread - Trump did not reverse Trump's actions - Biden did. So, there are no "very same actions".

Not a question - but statement I would like to address:

I'd like you to actually pray about this before you answer, minister. Could it be that your mind is blinded by party affiliation to a worldly political system?"
You close all your posts "In Christ", so you are then also a minister in your relationship with Jesus. There is no difference between you and I.

Since you bring up Trump in virtually every thread you enter. I could ask you the very same question.

Perhaps not in our standing before God, having trusted in the work of His Son for salvation...

but, in our understanding and ability to accept that we live in a fallen and imperfect world that is not our home, our posts seem to be mere universes apart. What we hold as important in the world seems to be fairly different. Certainly our understanding and opinion of political and current issues seems to be quite at odds. So yes, in some ways you and I are the same...and in some, you and I are worlds apart.

God bless,
Ted

Some tips to help you:
  1. Work smarter
  2. Work harder
  3. Get a degree
  4. Learn a skill
  5. Get a better job (they are hiring EVERYWHERE)
  6. Get a second job (they are paying $21 an hour to start at Wendy's!!!)
  7. Don't waste money with careless spending
  8. Make sure you are saving money instead of spending it all on frivolous things; invest it instead of wasting it on junk food - Commission-free Stock Trading & Investing App | Robinhood
  9. Get a fuel efficient car intead of driving a gas guzzler - 2022 Toyota Prius | Find Your Element
  10. Pull yourself up by the bootstraps - you are the one who can improve your own life and blaming others (being a victim) isn't going to help.

*affecting*

Perhaps look into achieving a higher level of education. This can only help you to find a better job and better opportunities. These days you can find a lot of good free classes online, but if you lack a traditional education I'd start there - you can even get a GED online these days - Penn Foster High School Degree

Thanks for that, my double PhDs and I thank you.

Hi @hislegacy

Thanks for responding to my questions, although you just dodged giving answers, claiming, for the most part, that the subject of the questions was not relevant to the purpose of this thread. Ok, but keep in mind that in the legal profession, when one opens the door to discovery by bringing in some facts or issues that aren't particularly germane to a defense, the other side gets to follow up with questions concerning the subject of the 'open door' issue.

In one of your posts, you brought up in your answer:
Then the good people on the Democratic side want to add 3.5 trillion on top of where we are now and they have the unbelievable nerve to get on national television and say the increase will not cost the middle class anything -

So, since this is your thread and your discussion and you brought up the $3.5T infrastructure spending bill that is not a part of this discussion, claiming that the Democrats have the 'unbelievable nerve' to say the increase will not cost the middle class anything, then that subject is then open to discussion. Now, in your statement you said, and I quote, "Then the good people on the Democratic side want to add 3.5 trillion on to of 'where we are now'... Question: Where are we now? What are you referring to in saying 'Where we are now'?

Because the last Administration is not the topic of the thread. -

No, it is not the initial topic of this thread, but when you 'open the door' and begin discussing spending bills and 'where we are now', which I'll have to wait for you to tell me what that actually means, but I understood it to mean 'where we are now in our national debt load', then the discussion of the national debt becomes fair play in your thread.

So, will you answer my questions...or no?

God bless,
Ted

post 363 is the only replies you will receive and it is the last off topic response you will get from me.

My apologies to those who are trying to keep things on topic. I will not do that any longer.

Just last month, Biden debuted a talking point that essentially amounted to admission of defeat; that gas prices actually should actually be doing down… they just aren’t for some unknown reason.

“There’s a lot of evidence gas prices should be going down, but they haven’t. We’re taking a close look at that” he said.

There’s still no update on what results that “close look” yielded.

It seems Joe doesn’t have a clue.

President Biden is President of the US, not Oil Czar or Sheik Biden. You seem to misunderstand what his job is and what he does.

No, you definitely do not. It's clear from how you tie gas prices directly to him. You don't have an understanding of the law of supply and demand or how markets work.

What's the symbol Trump is giving here while visiting with his friend the sheik?

hogwash you are gravely mistaken and have no direct reply to the obvious lack in the Whitehouse - which is why I believe to keep pointing to me and/or Trump or both at once instead of the person where the busk stops.

Here is a small lesson in supply and demand for you.
When things were shut down, especially most travel, including air travel which burns through tons of oil, the demand for oil plummeted. Crude oil prices actually went negative. Prices at the gas pump plummeted. As travel slowly resumed, including increasing air travel and automobile travel, demand for oil rose and crude prices rose, and the prices at the pump also rose back up.

So what part of that basic law of economics did Biden control? LOL, it's ludicrous to even ask the question because it sounds so ridiculous!

But Trump

but Trump

but Trump

you spend the time and effort saying the President doesn’t have control of the situation and you finish it with a picture of Trump

Trumps not in office, let it go.

Here is the time to focus on Biden, if the only way he can look acceptable is to say, well he is not Trump, I find a very ineffective form of debate.
