The wonderfulness of the mask is, you can decide who each one of the sculpts could self-identify as, on the spot! I already see Fauci, one of (or all of) the Cuomos, Pelosi's face seems particularly suited for stone; appears about to develop a crack —good thing she's wearing a mask to hold her face together.

I don't see any evidence of this "preknowledge"...can you provide? I see where some council members held the opinion that removal was desirable in years past, but no actual plans to remove statues.

There's no clear evidence for that, as stated in the first paragraph. That's the opinion of one historian, and nothing more (last paragraph).
