...In other ways he overstates the so-called "war" between the camps. I am not going to pretend the traditionalist and progressive views within the larger Anglican community can be reconciled. That said, I am certainly not at "war" and neither is my own tiny continuing Anglican Catholic province at war with what the author calls evangelical Anglicans (whatever that term may mean). I do agree with the author that it is unfortunate, sinful, and sad just how fractured Continuing Anglicanism is...

There are pockets, places or persons who have decided not to go to war. The other thing that needs to be said is that regardless of the bent of a diocese or a parish, the views among those of us who sit in the pew can be quite divergent. If one only looked on the surface of my diocese and parish, one would likely label both progressive. Yet, depending upon which table you picked at fellowship hour, you might swear you were in a conservative, orthodox parish . The big tent still exists in some places if not all. And, yet, we are all able to worship together because that which we share in common takes place at the altar rail.
