Seems so, doesn’t it?

Let’s do a quick roundup. I wrote most of this last week, so it already feels dated.

Just remember: you can get a good weekly roundup of bad and even good news related to the War on Women at the Graham Linehan site. It tends to be UK-heavy, but worth working through, if you’re interested.

First – why does this matter? Because material reality matters. And because children shouldn’t be experimented on. Is that enough?

I’ll begin with a link to a piece from the Telegraph by Conservative MP Miriam Cates. The link to the piece is here, but in case you can’t get through the paywall, head to Linehan’s site, where he’s reprinted the text. And if that has to be removed, try the Ovarit discussion.

But it hasn’t gone away, and when we have senior elected politicians making statements saying that those who deny males access to women’s spaces are “dinosaurs who want to hoard rights” (David Lammy MP), or that there shouldn’t be sex segregated facilities for women in schools and hospitals (Alex Sobel MP), I think we have to recognise that women are in danger. Again.

I love how even just voicing concern gets ridiculed.
My husband said I was a terf and he didn’t want to read Ovarit because it’s “hate speech”.
How strange that when it comes to trans issues Reddit controls the narrative mostly (and Reddit is 75% or more inappropriate contentography), reddits admins are mostly trans women.
My husband basically lives on Reddit.
He acts like I hate trans people; news flash: I don’t hate anyone.

some of the communities are ok (crafting, orthodox etc)
The news section is hilarious bc it acts like it an RSS feed (news flash it’s not).

Idk as someone who isn’t tempted in anyway by any sort of inappropriate contentography, I can even stumble upon it or actually watch it and report back and say: why yes, it is disgusting. Why yes, it’s getting worse. Why yes, I *have* watched some.

But Reddit is horrible because oh they can have rancid inappropriate content subreddits that explicitly states biological women only but women can’t have subreddits for biological women.

reddit is stupid. Sooner ppl realize it’s just as bad as fb, the better.

Scrolling through the comments on Reddit is appalling, and concerning; do people really think this way? Because so many of the posters sound like extremist exaggerations / parodies of leftist views. Which makes me wonder, in light of news like this

if Reddit isn’t being used mainly by trolls overseas to spread extreme leftist views and turn people against each other.

If you haven’t even seen the Chan boards and onion farms, I’d suggest you stay far far away. That’s all anonymous. And onions are ToR. Which isn’t a bad thing. But keep that for actual freedom fighters mmkay lol cause if you’re in a 1st world country on tor….why?

they verge sometimes on being illegal (actual child crap, snuff, etc) to actual hate speech (incel, kkk, violent anarchistics) you name it. Mostly they stay on onion farms but they creep into Chan boards *all the time* especially politics. then it spills out into the internet and world like an oil leak.

Yeah, I heard of the Chan boards. When I first looked at them, I had to smile, because the layout is exactly what the internet looked like when I was a kid; there was nothing but really primitive, unmoderated discussion forums, chatrooms, and e-mail discussion groups. But yeah, I can imagine the levels of filth and eww are pretty high.

I hang out on here, and click around on Babylon Bee, and check the weather radar, and have an e-mail address. That’s about it.

I am sure the Feds have a backdoor to TOR. It has been around for a long time. Their corporate headquarters is actually not too far fro me in Cambridge Massachusetts.

Before I came to CF, I spent a few years on the Christian forums of Reddit. /r/Christianity can be a toxic place, but after a while you learn to wade through it and find the gems. Some of the subreddit admins will ban you for posting something that disagrees with their beliefs.

there’s no point to use ToR.

you can make the argument about privacy but depending on your threat level (most people just don’t want Google or Fb or whatever creepin on em) a VPN is just fine.

I’m becoming increasingly uncertain whether this does not, in fact, apply here. I have noticed, more and more people ditching Google and Facebook in favor of safer, encrypted search engines, and anonymous platforms.

Yeah… Reddit is too far out there for me. I like to keep my thoughts uncluttered, and just try to make up my mind about stuff by using my senses. I don’t trust articles, media, studies, or “facts”, anymore. I hate to say it, but I really do think our media has reached a tipping point; it’s best to turn it off.

Reddit is so far left it’s like a ghoulish, creepy parody of itself. Something’s not right there. It’s either a bot-and-troll heavy “think farm” masquerading as a discussion site, or just a place to generally avoid.
