After paging through this forum and all the members who are in dire need, I feel bad for even asking, but if anyone could spare a moment, I could use a friendly prayer.
Several, okay many years back, I started writing an inspirational book, and it went from a hobby to an obsession. At first, everyone around me was supportive, but now that I'm only days away from publication, I feel like I've used up every last drop of good will. My friends, my family, my wife, and even my pastor is so sick of hearing about the project that I feel like they'd rather I just went away. I feel like when this is done, it will just be me and the book. That may not be the truth, but it is how I feel lately.
I've been telling myself that once it's published, that then I can work on fixing the relationships I've strained, but I have my doubts. I said, "When I'm finished writing..." and "When I'm finished editing..." before. Will I now say, "When I'm finished promoting the book and begging the faithful to read it..."?
I don't know. I really hope that in trying to spread The Word, that I haven't screwed up everything I value. (Please don't say that sounds like the subject for a new book, or I'll cry for certain.)
Long story short, I know what I need to do, so I'm not really looking for advice, just please put a word in for me with the big man. Give me the strength to fix what I've broken.
Thanks,
Jim.
