Hello, I’m 27M. I’m living in a weird delusion life where I have anxiety that I’m about to loose everything in my life. I have a steady job at the moment that I’ve managed to buy myself a little house and I live alone with my dog. After work I come home and spend time with my dog because she’s at home by herself all day. Lately I have been spending a lot of time on my own due to the pandemic and some anxiety struggles. I feel like my life is on the edge of everything falling apart. If I loose my job I would struggle to find a equal paying job and I have to organize my living expenses or I become homeless. As I’m single I feel like I have the worlds weight on my own shoulders. I’m still young where I have to keep things together for a foreseeable future of 60 years. I’m overwhelmed by the thought of how long I have to figure life out still. How do you look forward to a potentially broken future? I appreciate the response

Matt 6:
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

22 “The eye is the lamp of the body; so then, if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

The Cure for Anxiety
25 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? 27 And which of you by worrying can add a single day to his life’s span? 28 And why are you worried about clothing? Notice how the lilies of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin thread for cloth, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.

===============================

When I was first learning to drive a car while still a teen - I used to look at oncoming cars and think to myself "nothing separates me from instant death except that thin yellow line and 'TRUST' that the other driver will not lose control and swerve into my lane at the last second - there is zero protection here".

At some point I had to stop thinking about it -- and leave it God's hands.

======================

your strength is in God alone - if you turn on Him then what else really matters? Being a wealthy man in hell is pointless. All that really matters is eternal life.

In Gen 3 Satan tried to convince Eve that God could not be trusted to have her best interest at heart. He has not changed tactics to this very day.

The Bible says to keep your mind fixed on Christ Heb 12:1-5 -- do it and you will have peace of mind.

I feel like my life is on the edge of everything falling apart.
God is in control, but we need to not take things for granted. But trust God to guide you; learn to make sure with God in His peace. Feed on His word.

Possibly, get more into life of love; there is life that can not fail, because it is in God's love. And with God we can be creative with however things threaten or attack or even change our lives.

Modern society has been structured to divide us from each other. Family life has been eroded so that it is barely recognizable to what it was for most of human history.

This sort of isolated life can create high levels of anxiety. Some try to relive the anxiety about the future by saving a lot of money. Others turn to drugs or TV. However, it can be more worthwhile to invest yourself in other people.

For example, volunteer work or being more involved in your church can create opportunities to connect with others. Through this God can use you to minister to others as well as have others who can minister to you.

I had an experience like yours in my earlier years. I had to learn to trust God through every circumstance in life. But it also helps to learn new and better ways of doing things. Such as attend a Dave Ramsey financial solutions class or seminar. It also helps to be balanced in life among various categories, like social, psychological, political, recreational, etc. As long as you have an intention to love others (with the God-kind of love) in your life journey, you're obeying Christ, and such is the essence of the Christian life. It also helps to study the Bible, which I do often.

I can kind of relate. Particularly the anxiety, made worse by the pandemic, and the thought of how much life is potentially ahead of me where I have to keep myself afloat. I'm lucky that I don't have any immediate financial worries but I have just left a permanent job due to not being able to handle the stress so I'm now unemployed and unsure I'll ever find a job that I can both stand going to every day and that doesn't damage my mental health. I find prayer helps when I have worries as it's like offloading to a friend, plus don't forget that we don't just have this life :). However hard a time we have in the coming decades I believe all will eventually be made right by God.

Beloved one, consider what you have heard:

casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. -1 Peter 5:7

Beloved one, cast your care to the Lord, for He cares for you. Knowing our Lord cares matter ! Let us be convinced that the Lord doesn’t leave us alone and that He doesn’t forsake us. Let us delight ourselves in His steadfast love, that deliver us.

Beloved one, consider what David have heard and what you have heard :

“Lord, how they have increased who trouble me!
Many are they who rise up against me.
Many are they who say of me,
“There is no help for him in God.” Selah”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭3:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
I cried to the Lord with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭3:3-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved one, Selah is to pause to reflect what has been said. Weird delusion have increased because they who have troubled you, increase. They are the voices of the enemies and you cannot consider as your voice — how logically they may sound. Don’t let the enemies place a false image of yourself on your mind.

Beloved one, put away that false images of yourself and the false voices of troubles from the enemies. Beloved one, resist the enemies in the power of the Lord’s name. And in His name, through faith in His name will make you strong ! It is not your power or godliness that give you this perfect soundness in the presence of all but because of His name, you can push away the enemies.

Beloved one, consider what we have heard:
“You love all devouring words,
You deceitful tongue.
God shall likewise destroy you forever;
He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place,
And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭52:4-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“The righteous also shall see and fear,
And shall laugh at him, saying, “Here is the man who did not make God his strength,
But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.
””
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭52:6-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved one, as ones being justified freely by
the Lord’s grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God has set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith.

Beloved one, let us make the Lord our God our strength. Let us not trust in the abundance of riches. Let us strengthen ourselves in God’s righteousness.

Beloved one, don’t rely on your physical senses but rely on your spiritual senses.

Beloved one, consider what our Heavenly Father have said:

“My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved one, what is within us, is our hearts!
So the ear is spoken here, is not our physical ear but the ear of our hearts. With the ear of our hearts, we heard and apply our hearts to understanding the Father’s words and commands.

Why it is important to listen to the Father’s words and commands that our Lord Jesus Christ have spoken ? This is what we have heard:

“And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.””
‭‭John‬ ‭10:4-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

we follow the Lord’s voice or words and commands because we know His voice. We as the Lord’s sheep don’t follow weird delusions or the voices of strangers.

Beloved one, listening to the words and commands of the Father, allows us to place the right image of ourselves, that is, to be conformed to the image of His Son.
Beloved one, listening to the voice of our Shepherd. We are assured that He makes us lie down in grassy pasture, that He provides.
How ? Just trust Him that we are His sheep and He is our Shepherd because He has given His life for us.

Beloved one, let us immerse ourselves with the truth of His words, that is, the truth of His love:

And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭3:4-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved one, consider John the Baptist :
“John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.
You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before Him.’
He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.
He must increase, but I must decrease.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:27-30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved one, if A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. So everything has been given to Christ from Heaven, so we can receive everything through Christ. Let us stand in the grace of God and hear the bridegroom’s voice. Let this joy of ours be fulfilled. Christ must increase, but we must decrease.

So what must increase and decrease ? His voice or words in our lives must increase but the voice of our old life or our old selves must decrease.

Beloved one, don’t consider always, that you wait for God, but also consider God wait for you. For we heard:

Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him.
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Hold close to your heart, beloved one, that the Lord’s goodness endure continually.

Just consider when our Lord was crucified, on their part He is blasphemed, but on our part He is glorified. ( 1 Peter 4:13-14).

so beloved one, commit the work of your hands to the Lord and your thoughts will be established. ( Proverbs‬ ‭16:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ )

Beloved one, lift your inner being to the Lord daily. And wait for Him, and you will not be put to shame. For we heard:

“By David: I lift my inner being to you, Adonai; I trust you, my God.
Don’t let me be disgraced, don’t let my enemies gloat over me.
No one waiting for you will be disgraced; disgrace awaits those who break faith for no reason.”
‭‭Tehillim (Psa)‬ ‭25:1-3‬ ‭CJB‬‬

Beloved one, let us be conformed to the image of His Son and treasure His words in our hearts, and let us seek the Lord’s strength, not our own. Let us rejoice that God the Father has set forth for us, His Son as our Shepherd.

To God the Father be thanksgiving through Christ. Amen.
