• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Feeling much better, i had my first good sleep in ages, only 5 1/2 hours, but i slept deeply and restfully.

Thanking Jesus for helping me out, i was so worried things goo wrong again because i'm so exhausted.

Incredible how much 3 days psychotic does to someone.

Going to spend my day in prayer.

Thanks for praying:wave:

Psalms 9
"I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.

My enemies turn back;
they stumble and perish before you.
For you have upheld my right and my cause,
sitting enthroned as the righteous judge.
You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked;
you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies,
you have uprooted their cities;
even the memory of them has perished.

The Lord reigns forever;
he has established his throne for judgement.
He rules the world in righteousness
and judges the peoples with equity.
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Sing the praises of the Lord, enthroned in Zion;
proclaim among the nations what he has done.
For he who avenges blood remembers;
he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted.

Lord, see how my enemies persecute me!
Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death,
that I may declare your praises
in the gates of Daughter Zion,
and there rejoice in your salvation.

The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug;
their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.
The Lord is known by his acts of justice;
the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.
The wicked go down to the realm of the dead,
all the nations that forget God.
But God will never forget the needy;
the hope of the afflicted will never perish.

Arise, Lord, do not let mortals triumph;
let the nations be judged in your presence.
Strike them with terror, Lord;
let the nations know they are only mortal."

feeling down, that God is against me because He wont change some things in my life, but i know He's not against me, its just difficult circumstances i wish God would change. sigh.

I'm going through a horrific legal ordeal this past month due to a government mistake. He hasn't changed the circumstances - but - He has given me strength and a newly-found ability to trust Him. It's made all the difference in my life and maybe He did this to get my attention and remember that He is in charge. With Jesus at my side, I will prevail in this matter. Please have faith.

I feel hopeful, yet hopeless at the same time. God hasn't answered my prayer to heal someone and they died. Is there sin in my life? Maybe God doesn't really exist? That's a horrible thought. Without God what joy do i have? If there is sin in my life i dont know what it is because i dont trust my judgment on such matters. I have a hobby, is it love for the world? I dont know but i dont want to give it up because it brings me happiness. I am addicted to it.I spend time thinking about it it. Anyway, i will persevere despite these feelings. Giving up isnt an option for me.

This use to be an active forum and thread. What happened?

Some of the active people got banned, some have limited the time they're online, and some are just dealing with whatever things in life, too busy I guess. Some have probably passed away. I used to be active myself, but I don't come to this site often anymore.

I'm not going to tell you what to believe, but as for myself, praying isn't about forcing God's will, nor does God hold the lives of others as hostage against our own supposed strength of faith or purity. God is not an evil trickster to me, and faith isn't about constantly obsessing about what I did or what I didn't do, it's not about endless fearful self-examination, even if at times that is my mindset but I don't want it to be. God doesn't torture or kill people just because I'm a sinner or because my prayers aren't good enough. People will pass away, bad things will happen. It doesn't mean we shouldn't pray or bring our hopes and worries to God, but in the end we have to realize it's about His will, not ours, and we will have to get used to dealing with sorrow, we can't escape it in this world. It may sound painful, but I think there's relief in that. In a way it's what most people face when they get older; dealing with loss and powerlessness. We're all unified in that sense.

Of course you can have a hobby. When we take the concept "love for the world", I don't think it means we have to actively reject all kinds of activities or all things of interest that aren't directly related to worship. Love for the world, to me, is about twisted ambition, about putting fame, wealth, self and status above all else. It's not about hobbies, it's not about activities. Then again I'm not a puritan, and if I were, I'd be kicked out of their communities for not living up to their standards!

I have hobbies. Some I do a bit too much, some not enough for my own good. Videogames, music, guitar and singing. I like to watch hockey and manage my pitiful fantasy team as well. Every few years I start to exercise and after a few months I drop it. Gotta start exercising more as I'm getting older. Of course we're all getting older but I'm getting older more than others, eh eh.

That sounds good. I like to create things out of steel. Blacksmithing is becoming popular thanks to the show called "forged in fire" and the internet such as YouTube. I weld too.

Ah, working with one's hands. Good skills to have. We used to have a man visiting these forums who liked woodworking. It seemed like working with wood was his comfort zone and made him feel more at peace. Hope he's okay.

I like working with my hands. I use to do a little woodworking too but i figured i was overwhelming myself with that and metal work. I like metal work more. The only woodwork i do now is house repairs such as framing, fixing floors, remodeling and such
