Yes ... if you want to be completely free, ... then feel free to remove yourself from society. Living in a society comes with expectations ...
Or we can remove those who don't want us to be free. We've done it before, can't wait til we do it again.

Even a group of totally free people is not a society. And the community, the family, the nation, etc. is stronger by nature than any uncooperating collection of totally free men.

And it is as God intended ... "It is not good for man to be alone" ...

Good to see someone on here that agrees that marriage is between a man and a woman. That is the Godly basis for a truly strong society.

Total misrepresentation of the biblical message and a total disregard for the great desert fathers.

A marriage is what it is, as defined by the society one lives in.

But the Bible does have its unique message regarding marriage.
If only everyone understood the true message.
The world would be a wonderful place.

...if you want to work in society these days."

He's not happy about being forced to get vaccinated and says he worries about his health later down the road. He wishes everyone the best of luck.

So, ummmm, who is Andrew Wiggins? 1 out of 7 billion people?

Well this is the Catholic forum and we know what the true meaning of marriage is in the deposit of our faith.

So now the government gets to decide what we put in our bodies? What happened to the great liberal mantra "My body my choice"?

Once this genie of control is out of the body there will be no turning back.

It's fascinating to me that suddenly some of these NBA players are speaking out against vaccine mandates. Last year the league was the voice of the liberal cause in so many ways, with all the racial justice stuff they were perpetrating. Now you have Bradley Beal, Jonathan Isaac and Andrew Wiggins all giving these very articulate and poignant press conferences where they question the efficacy of the vaccine and the mandates that are forcing it.

I welcome anybody in the opposition to forced vaccination, but today's world has taught me to be skeptical of everything. So why now?

No. Truth is not a subjective experience, it's an objective reality. And the truth about marriage is that it's a Sacrament that can only exist between one man, and one woman. That is both natural and divine law. If you want to dispute that you can excuse yourself from this sub-forum and take your heterodoxy elsewhere.

But the Bible does have its true message regarding marriage.

FTFY.

If only everyone understood the true message.

Don't worry, we do. The Roman Catholic Church always has.

The world would be a wonderful place.

I agree, the world would be a wonderful place if everyone accepted the truth revealed by God as the deposit of faith and diligently passed down for 2,000 years since Christ himself, if the whole world was Catholic. But then again, it's going to happen. Maybe not until the Second Coming, but it is inevitable.

Absolutely. You are right.
I would hope it is harmonious with the Bible.
I simply assumed that already.

Thank you for your thoughtful response.
It was enlightening to me, because I now see my words did not come across as intended.
It is my fault for that, and I apologize.

I say this, because I happen to agree with you 100%
I have conversed with many people regarding truth.
I have always been amazed, that so many people believe truth is whatever one thinks it is.
To me, truth IS absolutely objective reality.
I believe truth can only be found in one place. The Lord.
Because he told me so. He is the way, the TRUTH, and the life.
Truth is found nowhere else. Not my opinion. My very strong belief.

I was pointing out that societies, just like individuals, usually have their own ideas of truth. I was surely not supporting any society that deviates from the Lord’s truth.

So sorry for my unintended offense.

The black community has dealt with forced vaccination and forced sterilization in the past, so if you view it from a black angle rather than a liberal angle it is more consistent.

As someone who received a vaccine, let me assure you that this is a terrible argument.

When did marriage devolve from something sacred to something secular? This is what happens when you get rid of the sacramental nature of things. Everything sacred gets pulled down to the human level and pearls get cast to the swine.
I think you would agree with this and I wish you a God blessed day. Perhaps A_Thinker will come back and discuss this with us more.

I, too, thought that there was a terrible dichotomy between this ideology that likes to use power to take choice away from others, until that power is used to take choice away from themselves. Then I realized that in this narcissitic society, the liberal mind is wired to political activism to impose power and ideas over others, while maintaining complete self autonomy. It seems a paradox in logic; but in truth is self-cohesive as long as one can maintain the completely narcissitic viewpoint that separates themselves from the rest of humanity.

Think of it like truth wars. My truth should be prevalent and I will do whatever it takes to impose my truth on you; but if you impose your truth on me, that is just wrong; because you obviously are wrong if you disagree with me. This is strangely a consistent viewpoint as long as you refuse to admit any falsity to your view. The minute you see the first false value, the whole system crashes down and you are forced to reevaluate everything. That is why this viewpoint is somewhat inconsistent with Christianity and will only survive in a secular world. Christians realize our sinfulness and therefor our brokenness and our ability to deceive even ourselves. With that comes a call for reform and hopefully a more formed conscience.

Expectations are one thing.
But freedom to follow your conscious is why this country was founded in the first place.
When those freedoms are denied, then we cease to be a free Country, and we risk becoming the thing that our ancestors fled from.
