Is it wrong or even a sin to have the mindset of God will only bless me in Heaven? I've had a bad life: 20 years of depression, dysfunctional family, loneliness, learning disability, health problems(6 surgeries), etc. I wonder if this how its meant to be and will always be.

Job 1:20-22 So Job arose, and rent his garments, and shaved the hair of his head, and fell on the earth, and worshipped, 21 and said, I myself came forth naked from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither; the Lord gave, the Lord has taken away: as it seemed good to the Lord, so has it come to pass; blessed be the name of the Lord. 22 In all these events that befell him Job sinned not at all before the Lord, and did not impute folly to God.

Matthew 5:3-10 Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.4 Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.5 Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.6 Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.7 Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.8 Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God.9 Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.10 Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

God loves you my friend. Stay strong in your love and faith for God, no matter how hard it gets.

Offer up your sufferings to God. For others.

You are not alone in your struggles. Many of us are in similar situations. Let us unight in our love of God and persevere to the end with true faith and trust in Our Lord and God.

May God bless you and keep you safe and healthy.

You might look for good Bible verses or some useful topics to study. I looked into nutrition studies, economics, ancient Near Eastern history, geology, etc. Being alone gives me time to read. I remember the verse, “On earth as it is in heaven.” I may be thankful for having known God does miracles. God knows the number of hairs on a person’s head (Matt. 10:30).

Jesus taught people they should be harmless as doves. There are rabbits in my community. Once I noticed the rabbits and birds shared the same yard in close proximity to each other without fear of one another. They are both plant eaters. It is good to be at peace and forgive.

According to Matthew 5:1-11 and Luke 6:20-26 at the end of the day it is those who have suffered in this life who will be eternally blessed.

I guess it could be a sin to affirm that we aren‘t blessed at all, but not wrong to assume that we will all be blessed infinitely more in heaven than here on earth.

Still don’t give up on hope, remember the invalid whom Jesus healed after 38 years of suffering (John 5).

Be blessed,
Manno

What does God tell you in His word, the Bible, a life with Him will be like fundamentally? Does your life match up?

When I look into God's word, I see promises from Him that my life in Him, in Christ, ought to be characterized by joy, peace, love, truth, holiness and divine power (Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:9; Matthew 11:28-30; Romans 6: Romans 8:9-15, 2 Timothy 1:7, etc.). It's an "abundant life" that God tells me in His word I can have in Him (John 10:10). Not a life of abundant physical things; God's not interested in giving me stuff - more clothes, more technology, a bigger, better house, or car, or boat, etc. He is Himself the "abundant life." In Him, I find all the wonderful things that make my life with God so excellent. When God gives to me Himself, He has given to me the very best, the greatest, thing that I can possibly possess. Everything else is way downhill from God. Do you believe it? When you do, you will have joy in the midst of trial and pain, peace in the midst of sorrow and uncertainty, contentment in the midst of need and discomfort. Why? Because in the midst of all of these things you possess and are possessed by the Lord God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Exodus 15:11
11 Who is like unto you, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

Deuteronomy 10:17
17 For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God...

Psalm 86:8-10
8 Among the gods there is none like you, O Lord; neither are there any works like your works.
9 All nations whom you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord; and shall glorify your name.
10 For you are great, and do wondrous things: you are God alone.

1 Timothy 6:15-16
15 ...He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
16 who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

Sadly, many don't think God is that great. He's just okay. Kinda' helpful - sometimes. But better than a few million dollars? No way. Better than an oceanside mansion and a couple of Lamborghini in the driveway? Nooo. Until this perspective of God changes, until God grows to His proper proportion in a person's understanding, walking with Him isn't ever going to be that special - and certainly won't be the "abundant" experience the Bible tells us it should be. The problem isn't that God isn't great, though; it's that we aren't and want to drag God down to our level. For some reason, many prefer a God that is...manageable, comfortable, malleable. The more God can be made to reflect who we are, many think, the better.

But, God is quite incorrigible; He just won't fit into our shape. He will be God: bigger, better, greater than we are, far beyond our silly attempts to control Him. And He keeps demonstrating that this is so in ways that often make us very ill-at-ease. God is downright dangerous, it turns out. He isn't a tame lion. He puts His own will ahead of ours; He will do what He intends to do before He will do what we want Him to do. God will press us and poke us, making us very uncomfortable indeed, until we yield to Him and let Him be the Boss. And, scariest of all, God will even sometimes let us be harmed, He will allow evil to touch us and hurt us, if it serves His purposes to do so. Read the story of Job. Or consider what happened to Jesus.

God's not out to get us, of course; He isn't eager to see us in pain. But as any good parent knows, sometimes the best thing for a child is the thing that makes them wail and weep the most. Even when it makes us holler and howl, our Heavenly Father will act to protect us - even from ourselves, if He must, and do the right thing for us even when we'd rather He didn't. He will strip away everything that isn't Him, to which we would resort if we could, until we are crowded to Himself, submitted and relying upon Him as He created us to do. This process can be...painful - and long. We can be very hard-headed, determined to have our way rather than yielding to God's will and way. Some even destroy themselves rather than place themselves humbly under God's mighty hand.

Anyway, a miserable life is not a testament to God's will but is a reflection of who we are, and is the inevitable lesser life we have when we are not living in humble, trusting surrender to Him every day (Romans 6:13-22; Romans 8:14; Romans 12:1; James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:6).

Psalm 16:11
11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Isaiah 26:3-4
3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you.
4 Trust in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Ephesians 3:16-21
16 ...be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

How does this relate to the thread's title?

Beloved one, it is not wrong and it is not sin to have the mindset of God and believe that God bless you in heaven. But you have not perceived yet, that God also bless you while you are on earth.

This is what we have heard:
“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.

Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved one, don’t lose heart, just believe that you would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Beloved one, what we heard is to wait on the Lord, not to wait for the Lord.

ABC NEWS explains the difference between to wait on and wait for :

To ‘wait on’ someone means to serve someone.

"The hotel staff waited on the couple at their wedding dinner."

To ‘wait for’ something or someone means we are expecting something to happen or we are waiting for someone.

"I had to wait for the water to boil before I could use it to make a cup of tea."
"We waited for our guests to arrive."

So how we wait on the Lord ? How we serve the Lord by waiting ?

For we heard:
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart; - Psalms 27:14

So beloved one, we serve the Lord by encouraging ourselves through Christ, that is,
we speak over ourselves the promises of God, for His word of grace shall make us be of a good courage and shall strengthen our hearts.

For we heard :
Wait, I say, on the Lord!”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So while we are waiting for the Lord, we say to ourselves the promises of God, and we will find joy and peace in believing and will be of good courage, and our hearts shall be strengthened.

So beloved one, speak promises of God over your life and body. For a mountain have an ear to have, so our body have an ear to hear.
Despite what you have experienced before, just believe.

Believe what God believe about your life and body, that will STAND.

So beloved one, stand in the steadfast love of God. Yes, be steadfast in the faith.
May God’s grace and peace be with you. To God be the glory through Christ Jesus. Amen.

If E = mc2 then we can divide and conclude that...

Mass (m) = Energy (E/c2) And there are three varieties...

Natural E/c2 - All mass is basically cooled plasma, the sun is the visible form of E/c2
Mental E/c2 - Our thinking can produce creativeness, light, and good things
Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)

There is a wonderful spiritual light and energy available from on high. Take time to watch the following video. Can you sense it?

1. 00:00 - 02:30 I'll Fly Away
2. 02:30 - 05:00 Soon and Very Soon
3. 05:00 - 08:30 I'll Fly Away - Instrumental
4. 08:30 - 12:00 Joy Unspeakable
5. 12:00 - 13:00 Testimony of a man healed of cancer
6. 13:00 - 48:00 Psalms 23 sermon
7. 48:00 - 59:30 Altar service - Everyone comes up for prayer

Very much the presence of love, Christian spirit, and joy....

Lord Jesus came to set the captives free, bind up the broken hearted and open prison doors. I was a suicidal drunk when I was saved. I had no friends and all my family were overseas. I was 20. My life has completely changed since that wonderful day when Lord Jesus found me. I was like the man on the road to Jericho, beaten up, robbed and left for dead.

If that is not happening for you, ask the Lord Jesus why? It His job to save people. That's not just going to heaven when you die. It is new life here on this earth. Sure, no one is exempt from life's trials. But "many are the afflictions of the righteous. The Lord delivers them out of them all". There is a hindrance somewhere in your life. Possibly you are under a curse. Nothing is too hard for Jesus.

Perhaps an example will help. I became quite ill and I did not feel like eating at all. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. It made no sense to me and I prayed about it. I met a Christian acquaintance who was going to a different church. He told me that someone I didn't even know had a grudge against me. The word came to me about going to a brother who has something against you as a matter of urgency. So I did. He told me that there was no problem, but that was a lie and I knew it. The illness left me immediately. Lord Jesus is well able to lead you into freedom. But we also must be in a place where blockages are removed.

Thanks for the response. I wonder if the hindrance is bitterness towards those who've hurt me in the past. I say I've forgiven but deep inside the pain, hurt, and anger is still lingering. Also, I was going to make another post about this but a month ago, I was praying in regards to my career and I heard a voice say "Get rid of demons." I guess that's another hindrance but what demons?

Can you expand on me possibly being under a curse, is something bad going to happen to me?

Thank you for your honest response. God will now help you. Please read the following link. It's the key to being able to forgive from the heart, not just with words. It's a bit long, but it was life changing for me and stood me in good stead many times. For example, my ex wife disappeared with my two children. I did not see them for 15 years. The Lord enabled me to find them again. When I saw my ex again, there was no anger, no bitterness and no resentment. This is God's doing, not because I'm in any way different from other people,

https://www.christianlife.org.au/can-you-forgive-from-your-heart

When you are bound by unforgiveness, God's blessing is hindered - the parable of the unjust servant speaks of this. We become vulnerable to Satan's attacks. God will not allow us to be destroyed, but we do suffer more than we have to. Once unforgiveness is dealt with, you will find more clarity. Bitterness and resentment are evil spirits. We allow them to oppress us when we fail to forgive.

Curses may be from the people we've had a dispute with. Some Christians think they are doing God's will by cursing other Christians. Unsaved people, who are involved in the occult, may use curses on people who upset them. When we are clean spiritually, we can resist the devil and he must flee. Not many people are possessed. If they are, the demons must be cast out. You can command demons to leave you yourself. You have exactly the same power and authority as the Lord Jesus. Declare in His name, ensure that you have the armour of God on first, and victory is yours. Don't give up or give in. Satan hates you and lies to you. He will tell you it is too hard. For us on our own, that is true. In Christ, you are already victorious. Declare the truth and don't relent until you are entirely free. Then stay free. It's not hard, just a matter of maintaining your testimony. You can read this is in Revelation 12 where Satan is overcome.
