The problem is that if you look at the evidence available, you have to say God did some pretty strange thing to make it fit with the creation myth used by YECs. For example, using the common creationist explanation that the geologic column was laid down in the flood and the order of the animals in the fossil record was created by their ability and intelligence to avoid the flood as long as possible, you have to explain why God put only non-flowering plants at the lowest levels and flowering ones higher up. Further, you have to explain how a flood could fossilize easily disturbed things such as nests and raindrops in certain layers that are covered by many more.

Now, of course, an omnipotent God coupld have made it look the way it does, but it would take a whole lot of mini-miracles - micro managing the cosmos seems like a strange roll for God.

Not only would it be a strange role, it would be a highly deceptive one as well. Add to the list angular unconformities, biogeography, shared endogenous retroviruses and a host of other things we've discussed lately and the level of God's deception, if the Earth is in fact young, is mindblowing.

The evidence for creation is crearly seen through out the Earth and the heavens,I pray that the Lord will open Your Heart to that.

If it were that simple, then AiG is wasting its time posting "proof," now isn't it? They should get out of the science business and just keep on praying for us scoffers...

I keep trying to point out this very thing.
IT would NOT be unlike God to use something just like this.

To any of you out there thinking God is some helpless old grandfather type who doesnt get overly involved (including Christians), I ask that you start spending more time in books like Exodus and such.

In this age of Grace, God has not been so quick to rain down judgement as He did in the OT.
But He does not change.

As for any type of viruses, Look at Revelation to the plagues.
These may or may not be that which you refer to, but I want to show you that God can indeed send new plagues (viruses or whatever)

"and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, so that all those who do not believe the truth, but delight in unrighteousness, might be condemned. "

Btw doesn't the bible say that god doesn't lie?
"And Jehovah said, Who shall tempt Ahab king of Israel so that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spoke saying in one way, and another saying in another way. And a spirit came out and stood before Jehovah and said, I will tempt him. And Jehovah said, With what? And he said, I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And Jehovah said, You shall tempt him, and you are able. Go out and do so. And now behold, Jehovah has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets, and Jehovah has spoken evil against you. "

I wasn't talking about viruses in the form of a modern plague. I was referencing shared endogenous retroviruses. The concept is this, certain viruses will insert copies of their RNA into the DNA of their hosts. Many mammals, including humans and chimps share the same insertions. The obvious conclusion here is that these retroviral insertions occurred in germline cells of a common ancestor of chimps, humans and other mammals and were passed on to their descendants.

Here's a link to a good explanation of this evidence for common ancestry.

That and they make money selling materials to the faithful, and they actively try to insert their religious beliefs into public education systems.

There are dishonest people out there posing as real christians taking money from widows.
Their punishment will be swift on that day.

But please dont let them make you think that we're all like that.

I would give you anything I own if You sincerely needed it.
Most real christians would as well.

It takes lots of money to run anything on the scale of AIG.
I only wish I were in a position to help fund them.

I would honestly say that if you read the passage in 2 Chronicles 18 and thought ANYTHING other than God sent a spirit to decieve, then you are probably either very arrogant or very deluded already

Yeah, you could help pay Kenny Ham the $170,000+ a year with benefits added in that he gets for spreading AiG's nonsense around the globe.
