Republicans have the Supreme Court, Dems have the Executive branch, and Dems have Congress by 1 person, which isn’t enough to beat a filibuster. So exactly like I said. If Dems had the power they’d already have be passed a number of bills that are currently being hashed out.

OK but what I don't understand is how everyone getting vaccinated gives anyone political power.

I got vaccinated because it made sense to me and my family. This time I agreed with what the government is asking us to do. By no means does that mean that if they asked us to do something else that doesn't make sense to me I'm just going to agree.

I don't vote on one issue so I don't see how vaccine and mask recommendations, mandates, etc. will have much influence on who I vote for. I'm sure that many voters are the same way.

You said that is what they are doing to gain political power, mandates for vaccines, and masks.

How is this gaining them political power? If a public servant makes over 50% of the country angry it seems to me they are taking the chance that they will lose political power, they'll get voted out.

Over 50% now huh? Interesting the slights of hand that keep happening here.

Marginalizing the group that doesn't support you anyway is a political tactic that is as old as time. Removing their ability to support your opposition by removing them from their job would certainly have it's advantages too.

A) you have the main point backwards. Some leaders are using politics to gain power over people. Power to control people. Again this is as old as time. Like the completely unprecedented move of forcing companies to enforce their employees are vaccinated. That is power that did not exist before and would not exist without the pandemic

B) more in line with your question. One area where political power is gained due to lockdowns/masks/mandates is the appearance that the government actually has the ability to control something that is not controllable. If leaders can claim they can improve your life by stopping the virus they gain political capital. That hasn't worked well, so the alternative is to cast blame on someone else and claim it would have worked if not for them (as we see happening now). Either way they position themselves as the good guys regardless of if anything they did actually helped or not... that is a form of political capital/power.

I agree that it is necessary. The problem/manipulation in the USA is that the only way to exit that status is to agree to be a guinea pig when conventional vaccines do exist.

We are not being sanctioned for rejecting vaccination.
It is for rejecting experimental vaccination, in favor of the conventional variety.
The big LIE is that the mRNA & viral vector vaccines (both experimental) are our only given choices. Conventional inactivated/deactivated vaccines are being withheld.

My IF scenario was just that a scenario not depicting any actual percentage.

Still, how does making voters angry at what you are doing gain you political power?
If you cause people to lose their jobs, how does that gain you political power? Your political power comes from the voter's support, without that support you will be voted out. I don't see any political power advantage in causing people to lose their job.

I just read your post #75 so that is your answer to my question. How many people will see them as the 'good guys' compared to the voters who see them as overreaching?

Everyone has the choice of getting the J&J vaccine which is not an mRNA vaccine.
