Is it as misleading as leaving off the part that says "and affiliated with"?

That was 'their claim" not a claim by the "proud boys" - hence they "reach" for "sympathetic to"

The article tries to sling "proud boys" into it even though the "proud boys" is lead by a black man.

"Miller's social media activity, connecting him as being sympathetic toward and affiliated with the extreme right-wing group the Proud Boys"

Notice the only "connection" they ended up with as "fact" was Miller's social media activity at any point in time appearing to be "sympathetic" to something the "proud boys" said or did.

Pretty misleading if you ask me.
Henry "Enrique" Tarrio is actually Hispanic.

Henry "Enrique" Tarrio (born 1984 or 1985[2]) is an American activist who serves as chairman of the Proud Boys,[1] a far-right, neo-fascist, and exclusively male organization that promotes and engages in political violence in the United States.[5] Tarrio, who is Cuban-American and of Afro-Cuban background,[6] served as the Florida state director of the grassroots organization Latinos for Trump.[7][8][9] In 2020, Tarrio was a candidate in the Republican primary election for Florida's 27th congressional district, but withdrew.[3][4][6]

==========================

When left wing media gets that - they spin him into "white supremacist affiliated"

=========================

Henry "Enrique" Tarrio is actually Hispanic.

And apparently "Afro-Cuban"

All of which is several miles away from "white supremacist"

If he had been Antifa or BLM, none of us would have ever heard a thing about this because he would have been ignored by the authorities.
Or released by another one of the Open Society attorneys.

It's all a part of the left-wing conspiracy controlling all levels of government right?

What hate crimes did he commit? Is talking trash a hate crime now?
it took just a few seconds with google to find that he broadcast the call for the mass lynchings of thousands in the so called "Day of the Rope". He demanding that the Jews be gasses to death and called for the killing of at least one representative from Congress ref South Florida Sun Sentinel 3/4/21

and yes, those are hate crimes.

If that BLM person or anyone for that matter was calling for the mass killings of thousands of people just because they were minorities then yes i would.

Would you?
How about if they were calling for white folks to give them their houses, just because?
What constitutes a minority anyway?

It seems to me that the wording in what was previously said put a bit more importance on the BLM part than the word that came after, which is a shame. A bigot is a bigot, doesn't matter what they are bigoted towards.

I have no sympathy with him. Prison best place for these types.

That’s absolutely true if he’s committed weapons violations, vandalism, or other crimes. (And in the federal and many state jurisdictions, a crime motivated by racial/religious/ethnic hatred can result in a stiffer sentence.) But just having racist thoughts is not a prosecutable offense. And prison is hardly a place where one can avoid racist attitudes and behavior

It’s controversial if this kind of extreme racism with potentially violent tendencies should be considered a psychiatric illness. There’s some evidence that violent racists are more likely to have antisocial and narcissistic personality disorders. But the DSM-5 doesn’t categorize extreme racism as an illness. There’s the fear that if it were considered a mental disorder, that could be used as a defense in a hate crime trial. It’s still a problematic area among psychiatrists. The link has more info.
