Why didn't Samsung tell me this in the first place?

Ok this is funny. I bought a tablet to replace another tablet that I had that cracked the very second I dropped it. It got so cracked that the screen isn't even usable. This second tablet I bought almost a year ago (don't worry it was paid for in cash over a year ago) I bought a case for it this time and I've probably dropped it a good three dozen times. Plus last night it went flying all the way across the room and I thought for sure I accidentally cracked it. Nope! It looks like brand new still! Man! I wish I had just bought a good case for my first tablet in the first place. You can probably drop it from an airplane and it still... kidding.
Idk why Samsung doesn't tell people that in the first place "don't be cheap if youre going to buy a $800 tablet buy a $40 case too. It would save you hundreds in repairs in the first place."

Because Samsung wants to charge you $300 to replace the screen everytime you cracked it I guess.

Actually, most people know to buy a case for their phone or their tablet. It is pretty much common sense to do that for just the very reason you stated above. There is also the fact that many people buy the extended warranty on their tablet or phone and generally, things are fixed for free.

That is how I ended up with a Tab S7. I dropped my S6 while at work as I used it for work and brought it in under warranty. They sent it off, but when I got it back, there were chips on the side of the tablet that wasn't there before. So, I brought it back, and they were just going to replace it with another Tab S6, but they didn't have any and so gave me the Tab S7. I got the one year Warranty on it and came out $150 ahead as the Tab S7 was on sale.

Probably not. You can have the glass replaced by many different stores, not just Samsung dealers.

I cracked my iPad screen but it wasn’t that much more to have Apple fix it than an uncertain source in my local mall. Samsung may be easier to repair for less.

Many people buy cases for their touch-screen products - that's been a thing forever. If you buy direct from Samsung they'll very likely show you "people also bought..." or "do you want this while you're here?". When I bought my phone from Samsung online it even suggested getting a damage protection policy for it. It's not really their business or perogative what anyone does with it afterwards.

If I buy a $3000 guitar it might get sold or shipped to me in a cardboard box, but they don't really have any obligation to say "oh by the way, you should get a case to protect it". Taking care of the guitar then is on me, whether it's my own clumsiness, neglect or freak act of nature that damages it.

Since Samsung and the other manufacturers are aware that a case is needed why are not their products sold with the case included?

There is also the fact that many people buy the extended warranty on their tablet or phone and generally, things are fixed for free.

That is a contradictory statement. If things were fixed for free there would be no charge for the extended warranty. The things are fixed for a fee called an extended warranty. Those that use the warranty are being subsidized by those that don't have to use it. In some case that may be because they are better at caring for their possessions and in others by simply by chance. Either way they paid for something they never used.

When I got my new phone 4 years ago I kept it wrapped up on a towel to keep it from getting scratched up and damaged. When I finally got my case with a glass screen protector I stopped using the towel to protect it from normal use. At times when I'm working I take my phone off and wrap it in a rag and set it aside.
Not only should you consider a case but a screen protector also so if you do scratch the screen up you can just replace the cheap protector with a new one instead of having a nasty scratch in the screen that is there from now on.

Trying to figure out how a tablet ends up flying across the room...
Mine doesn't do that; it just sits there till I move it. Maybe I need an upgrade. :D

I got the one year Warranty on it and came out $150 ahead as the Tab S7 was on sale.

I'm only tech savy in Desktop computers, so I didn't know. I spent $500 on my first tablet because my sister who is savy in Tablets and cell phones and the ilk recommended that tablet to me (It was a Samsung Galaxy S5e). She told me to buy a case for it and I asked her why and she said if I cracked it, I would be responsible for fixing the screen and Samsung would charge me boo koo bucks to fix it. Well I figured I'd be careful enough to not warrant an extra $40 purchase on a $500 tablet. I owned it for about a month and the dropped it while talking to a friend on there. It cracked very easily and I had no idea. And over the year or so I had it it got so cracked that the $500 tablet is no longer usable.

So last year when I decided to replace it with an S7 I made sure to get a case with it and, it was the best decision I ever made. The S7 is a $800 tablet and Samsung wanted nearly $300 to fix my last cracked one. When I first dropped it mind you. So... yeah best idea I ever made.

I didn't buy a case for my phone because it was a $150 phone when I got it, and we use it so infrequently (Especially now that we're cut off of our cell phone plan) that we've never dropped it. If my sister never told me about cases I probably never would have known at all that they even exist to prevent stuff like this.

My only complaint is I have to clean my tablet screen off 2-3 times a day because of all the fingerprints on it. But at least the fingerprints get on the case and not the very expensive screen.

I didn't want to admit that I got angry and tossed it across the room, deliberately trying to crack it because when Im angry I get into thinking like that and dont care if I break a $800 tablet. But, that's what happened.

You need to buy a used fire tablet for $50 and put a sticker on it that says in case of emergency break glass.

Whats a fire tablet? I should probably put that on my car too. Something like "Warning woman driver at the wheel along with husband who gets angry at woman driver for being at the wheel."

Srsly we've had my car since June. In those 4 months she's almost hit somebody four times. She's ran at least three red lights, and gone into the opposing lanes dozens of times. She also speeds. Especially if we're late to church. I keep telling her going like 75 in a 55 is speeding and she's like "Well the car behind me rides my tail end if I go 55 or 60". It's like... you can't tell her that just because other people want to speed doesn't mean you have to.

why a cop hasn't pulled her over yet I have no idea. And what her driving instructor was smoking when she passed her I've no idea. If she gets in an accident I'm stuck paying the extra insurance and repairs.

what is that? It looks like it would be a good anger release tool. lol
It's the kind of tablet my 5 yr. old grandson has. It's built to take a kid's involuntary abuse. I believe the blue case around it can be bought separately. ;)
It has fun and educational apps.

Nice. It looks indestructible. Perfect for smashing. That or I need to get some anger therapy lol.

I do like when you pay enough for a tablet they make them last with cases. I don't like that companies don't just freely tell you about them. Heck they can make their own cases and probably make them fingerprint resistant. Because, it's such a pain to have to wipe your tablets 2-4 times a day. Even with the pen they give me on mine, it leaves streaks behind that have to be cleaned. Come on Samsung yet to work! :p
