So the media is not believable on this story? Even more interesting,,,,

This response isn't logical. For this to be a logical response there would need to be a claim that the story isn't believable. The mantra of an overwhelmingly dishonest media is not the mantra of your debate opponents here.

What is implied in the statement which you are responding to is that you have consistently leveled a charge of dishonesty toward the media. What this implied criticism is putting forward is simply this: You are inconsistent.

When one is inconsistent it communicates to those with whom you are attempting to have a conversation or debate with that you lack a coherent position. Instead it comes across as a means of discourse that is entirely ad hoc: arguing a position depending on the situation, even if that means taking mutually incompatible sides, and picking up and leaving behind positions quite arbitrarily.

Perhaps you aren't being inconsistent. In which case the logical response would be to respond to the actual criticism. Point and counterpoint.

Our troops were pulled out while American citizens were still there. That either fits with what biden promised, or it doesn't.

Oh, on that you are correct. Biden did not keep his promise and really screwed up on that one.

No it means you did not renew your passport.

You’ve always given well thought out replies.

I wonder if the Taliban issues passports. To men only, of course.

So? I'm not allowed to leave the country. Are you saying their is more then simply having the government stop you from leaving the country to being a hostage?

Your government will allow you to get a passport.

The Afghan government, well, let's ask them.....
"Please, sirs, may I who am an American have a passport to go back home after my countrymen fought against people like you?"

If you honestly cannot mark the difference between lacking a passport and someone beating you to keep you away from and airport or a plane being prevented from leaving by terrorist carrying automatic weapons I can not help you.

Show me a link saying things have changed in three weeks.
What things have changed in three weeks? Things that were not even true three weeks ago? There are no "hostages" in Afghanistan, the whole "This is day 34 of hostages" is Sean Hannity's latest marketing gimmick and, like most of what Hannity says, it is completely false.

Because if all the Americans have been rescued Joe would be standing on top of the White House blowing his own horn instead of avoiding all the questions.
He hasnt avoided any questions at all. He wouldn't "be standing on top of the White House blowing his own horn" either, that's not his style at all. Your image of him is heavily influenced by your dislike of him over the facts about him. And that seems to come from Hannity and similar paid, professional talking heads who are trying to sell their products (including pillows!).

Not at all true for every American.

Why would any other country give an American a passport? Singling out the Afghan government, whether the non-Taliban or Taliban version, is silly. Not even the UK or Canada would give an American a passport.

But I guess I'm missing the point, which was to post a picture of Afghanis in their traditional dress as though there's something "bad" about it. If it were the British I'm sure no picture would have been used - nothing to make fun of with them because they are "like us".

It seems that @Belk is the one who can mark the difference that you and some others can't. When it is reported that someone wants to leave somewhere but "is unable to" that covers a wide range of things, including being held hostage as well as not having the proper documentation, not being able to afford it, not being healthy enough, etc.

When you assume that out of all the reasons for being "unable" to leave a country the only possibility is "they are held hostage" then you are jumping to a conclusion.

I've already pointed out that there are commercial flights going in and out of Kabul already. Where are the news stories reporting that people can't get on commercial filghts to leave Kabul? I see no such reports. The only reports I've seen are from 3 weeks ago stating that CHARTER flights were not being permitted to leave. That's all I and any of us actually know.

We also know some people's opinions that some Americans "are unable to leave". We don't know why they are unable to. Some likely have health issues, some probably don't have the money, some of them may have expired passports or other documentation problems. Just the opinions of some mysterious "sources" is suspect to begin with - these are subjective opininos of a couple of people who are not even identified and are certainly not identified as trustworthy, high-ranking officials. There are only a couple of such reports, meaning the reporters could have made mistakes in how they reported the information, because no other reporters are able to corroborate those stories.

This whole story appears to be Hannity's latest thing and nothing more.

Fearful US residents in Afghanistan hiding out from Taliban

They’ve moved seven times in two weeks, relying on relatives to take them in and feed them. Their days are an uncomfortable mix of fear and boredom, restricted to a couple of rooms where they read, watch TV and play “The Telephone Game” in which they whisper secrets and pass them on, a diversion for the children that has the added benefit of keeping them quiet.

All of it goes on during the agonizing wait for a call from anybody who can help them get out. A U.S. State Department official contacted them several days ago to tell them they were being assigned a case worker, but they haven’t heard a word since. They tried and failed to get on a flight and now are talking to an international rescue organization.

All say they are scared the ruling Taliban will find them, throw them in jail, perhaps even kill them because they are Americans or had worked for the U.S. government. And they are concerned that the Biden administration’s promised efforts to get them out have stalled.

I saw no mention of people being beaten or automatic wielding terrorists in the links in your OP. What I did see was claims that people were stopped because they lacked the proper documentation. You know, like if you don't have a passport.

They are not American citizens. They even have all their relatives right there iin Afghanistan to help them and take care of them. Most likely it's not that the Taliban won't let them leave but that they don't have paperwork or money to leave yet.

Today is September 27, 2021 Day 27 of Americans being held against their will in Afghanistan - Day 38 after the President of the United States said we would not leave until every American wanting to leave was out, even if it meant staying after the August 31 deadline.

September 18, 2021...

All say they are scared the ruling Taliban will find them, throw them in jail, perhaps even kill them because they are Americans or had worked for the U.S. government. And they are concerned that the Biden administration’s promised efforts to get them out have stalled.

They worded it in such a way to hide the likely reality that none of them are American citizens. By saying "OR" their statement can be considered 100% true even if none of the people they're referring to are American citizens. Most American citizens don't have family all over Afghanistan as so it sounds like these people are in the "or had worked for the U.S. government" category.

For example, if I said to you "I own 5 cars and they are Ferraris or they are Hondas" does that mean that for sure i have even at least one Ferrari??? Based on your answer to that, I have a bridge you may be interested in purchasing...
