This response isn't logical. For this to be a logical response there would need to be a claim that the story isn't believable. The mantra of an overwhelmingly dishonest media is not the mantra of your debate opponents here.
What is implied in the statement which you are responding to is that you have consistently leveled a charge of dishonesty toward the media. What this implied criticism is putting forward is simply this: You are inconsistent.
When one is inconsistent it communicates to those with whom you are attempting to have a conversation or debate with that you lack a coherent position. Instead it comes across as a means of discourse that is entirely ad hoc: arguing a position depending on the situation, even if that means taking mutually incompatible sides, and picking up and leaving behind positions quite arbitrarily.
Perhaps you aren't being inconsistent. In which case the logical response would be to respond to the actual criticism. Point and counterpoint.
