Many have mistaken Satan for a "rival" to God, but in reality, he is only a creature and has very limited power.

Some religious traditions around the world have held the existence of two supreme deities, a good god and an evil god. These two gods are set in opposition to each other, and often break out in fights that impact the world.

Unfortunately, this belief has often spilled over into Christianity, so Satan is given a god-like status. People often believe that Satan could rival God in his power and is an equal match.

The Catholic Church clearly teaches that Satan is a creature and God is the creator. God created Satan originally as a good angel, who then rebelled against his creator, choosing hatred and isolation rather than union with God.

Scripture and the Church’s Tradition see in this being a fallen angel, called “Satan” or the “devil.” The Church teaches that Satan was at first a good angel, made by God: “The devil and the other demons were indeed created naturally good by God, but they became evil by their own doing.”

What you say is very true. Everything is under Gods control and no one can win against him. Evil happened and happens because God allows us to make our own choices. If satan was as powerful as God and could fight him then why does he submit to his power and why does he fear him? Why could he not escape his punishment? If satan really was that powerful and they could do what ever they want then would not the world be even worse. So bad that some might call it hell. God creates life and he has the power to destroy it. The devil cannot create life. God is holy and never lies. He says we have victory in him and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. He has set the devils future in stone. All that we have is from God and without him none would have any power that includes the devil. Is not the light stronger than darkness? Can darkness be were there is light? No! It repels darkness and darkness can do nothing about it. What is power? Being alive or dead?

Here are a few bible verses that depict Gods strenght compared to the devils:

Romans 16:20
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

James 2:19
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

Mark 5:6-8
When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”

The devil called him the most high God and pleaded with him to not torture them.

Yeah no God like power lol. They say one of the highest angels. What we need to remember every thing God gave him he still has. To just "Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time." Full of wisdom.
