Is the Word of Faith Movement to which I am a part of, based on God's inerrant word or a few individual humans?

If you are a part of a group, you should know for your own benefit.
My point is if you cannot grasp the ideological premise for the group, then you never know what the other agendas are.
We could dislike dolphins or something, how would you know?

List WOF theology and search for it in the writings of others that predate 1775. It is not in any of those writings. So, it is likely the interpretations are modern by individuals. Some may or may not claim revelations.

A movie has been put out that, names Word of Faith as a false Gospel
It portrays clips of some that are not even Word of Faith.
It has sound bites of Kenneth Copeland saying money come to me!
It is not a fair portrayal of the true Word of Faith doctrine as taught mainly by Kenneth E Hagin , and the Rhema training centers.
The movie is called the American Gospel.
It was created by a young man who grew up in a Benny Hinn House Hold.
Yes there is a mistake here.
We have Among us a great Teacher who specializes in Apolgetics.
Here is his reply, hit like and share if you want to help.

Hello Now Faith,

I watched the video "American Gospel: Christ Alone Movie - Documentary or Propaganda?" by Rod Saunders. And I must say that Rod Saunders sliced and diced the critics of the Word of Faith movement. His Word of Faith apologetics is powerful. I would love to see a public debate between Rod Saunders and a critic such as Justin Peters. It would be fun to watch.

Rod Provides a much needed clarity to the discernment ministries, that continues solely to discredit all Charismatics.
The kind person in earlier threads could not see a problem with the movie.
The elephant in the room is that many Calvinest are multi millionaires themselves.
Charismatics are easy to discredit because they do not partisapate in constant slander of other faith groups.
I very concerned for the Body of Christ.
It seems like the political propangda that was brought against Trump, is being repeated by those who spend all of their time saying all manner of things against Charismatics, Word of Faith.
Honestly it seems to have the same Spirit behind it.
Repeatedly lying about circumstances, saying Charismatics are dirty people.
There are many Parallel examples where the Media and the Democratic party, behave just like the hyper Calvinest.
On such person in a ministry said that Word of Faith is worse than aborition.
That is rather extreme, and raises red flags from my perspective.

Where is this streaming? American Gospel was...interesting to say the least but was nothing new overall. I was impressed that they delivered the information they did on healing ministry and what not without trying to take down the spirit-filled movement as a whole.

Although not having seen this American Gospel, it sounds like trash. I have to agree with Rod. People who preach that God predestines some to hell have no idea who He really is. I have seen and heard of so many people who preach some kind of god (note the lower case) who has a heart of cold granite (None of them WOF though). That is the worst kind of blasphemy. The God who I know, has the most wonderful heart one could ever imagine. I have heard people who preach that healing is a thing of the past. Which reminds me of something that happened years ago, also relating to healing.

I was walking into a hardware store, and all of a sudden, something went wrong with my sight. It was as if the images from my left and right eyes got mixed up so that I could not recognize anything. I prayed for help, and saw a vision of myself putting my hands over my eyes and declaring healing in the name of the Lord. So I did just that - and my vision was restored instantly.

So, if someone claims to be WOF, but preach things that are fundamentally unbiblical, they are not WOF. Plain. And. Simple.

I'm so with you on that. There must have been a reason why I never felt the freedom to share my encounters with Jesus and the Spirit with anyone, for so many years - even my mom and dad.

Don't worry about the "when" of something.
Just follow Jesus' daily leading, and He will bring you to the exact place and time and people with whom you are to share what you have learned.
Knowledge, especially Godly knowledge, is precious! It's specific, and it is always right on time.
That's why you aren't to worry about the who, what, when, where, and why.
God has all of that covered, and you can trust His leading on the matter.:amen:

Amen and Amen. Like this time I crossed paths with a Catholic believer. She was such a loving, gentle person that it made me marvel. So, a few minutes into the conversation, after quite a bit of hesitation, I tell her "You know, one thing that God loves very much about you personally is your sense of truth." We ended up marveling at God's wonderful love and knowledge of all of creation.

The movie is called the American Gospel.

Hello! I haven't seen the American Gospel.
Possibly there was going to be some kind of reaction though- as a poster said above, much of the 'Christian TV' content coming from America is weird and 2020 was a very bad year for Charismatic Church leaders, given all the false prophecies they gave. Is it possible your issue might be much about presentation of the programme rather than content? God Bless :)

Is it mercy to withhold the confession financial multiplication happens only based on Christ's merits and not our works of paying a seed?

Hello! Ephesians 1:3 says that every spiritual blessing is in Christ. Under the Old Testament Law (Deuteronomy 28) there were blessing for obedience and curses for disobedience. But Jesus Christ suffered the curse of the law on our behalf. I hope these few reflections are helpful for you. God Bless :)

It's honestly a documentary speaking about healing ministry. Focusing primarily on Benny Hinn and others. His son, Costi, who is now "reformed" and a cessationist is featured a lot in it and talks a lot about his father's ministry, which he served in. Like I stated previously though, it doesn't attack the charismatic movement as a whole, just that particular part of it. It doesn't even deny that God still heals, it's literally only attacking the practices of "faith-healers" from the perspective of the son of one who saw it first hand. Therefore, I wouldn't quite call it garbage or anything like that. It would be garbage if it attempted to convince the watcher of modern reformed theology or cessationism but it just does not do that, which I really respect them for.

Hi spiritfilledjm! Thanks for the info! I did see an interview with Costi Hinn before, it was interesting but nothing new. Basically about the apparent financial greed and the apparent failure to be able to verify any healings in BH's ministry. These things have been claimed about BH's and other ministries for decades. Kenneth Copeland was perhaps in the same boat and my uncle was into a TV preacher called Wommack who I have serious concerns about. So I agree it does not seem that the documentary would be doing anything too extreme. Nothing that is not already in the public domain. God Bless :)

While I am not a Benny Hinn fan - he is not Word of Faith - I do have a first hand experience I thought was amazing.

In the mid 90's my boss was a man who loved God, but disliked Charismatics with a passion. That led to a whole lot of interesting conversations, but I digress.

He and his wife had a baby, a premature little guy who was missing a chromosome. Their child was not expected to live past his first year. His wife decided she wanted to bring the child to a Benny Hinn crusade in a nearby city. He was livid, said all manner of things, but at her insistence they went. Three nights - no one ever prayed for them - zero - the last night they were making their way out and were approached by someone asking about the child. They shared their story and were ushered behind stage. They waited and Benny walks in - looks at them and says - "you will come to our next crusade" and walks out of the room.

My boss told them there is no way for them to go to a crusade in another state - The ministry paid for their airfare and accommodations.

Same thing happened at the next crusade - no one prayed for them and they went home disappointed. The very next morning the child started convulsing and was rushed to the hospital.

The reason for the convulsions - the child was reacting to his medication. Seems when your give that medication to a normal healthy child it causes convulsions. He went through a battery test confirming he had a normal chromosome structure.

The child who was not going to make it past his first birthday is 29 and a father of two.

I can first hand verify that healing.

Hello hhodgson. I'm not really wanting to start a debate here, I know it's not my forum and it's just my perspective about Andrew Wommack. But briefly, without trying to cause offence to the folks here.

I walked into the room several times when my Uncle was watching him and watched the programme:-

1) I heard Andrew Wommack say that he could dis-prove the pre-Trib rapture from scripture. He didn't but went on to talk about something else. He seemed to be quoting bible verses but not going into the whole passage and it's context. One verse from here, added to part of a verse from there. Eisegesis rather than exegesis (Perhaps that why he isn't pre-Trib)

2) He talked about how he raised someone from the dead

3) He said that true believers couldn't catch covid, but that he was shutting down his conference in 2020.

Three times he seemed to be making unsubstantiated assertions. For point 3) I lost a Christian friend to Covid and Andrew Wommack's mate Fred Price later died of Covid.

Perhaps it's just not a style of teaching I would take to, personal preference. Feedback/ comments welcomed, I'll try not to debate any further :)

God Bless :)
