I have been told I will eventually loose teeth if I don't wear a nightguard due to grinding. But nightguards can be uncomfortable to sleep with and at times I don't sleep so well with one. Please pray for wisdom at my dentist appointment tomorrow. I am concerned about this because it could negatively effect certain life opportunities. I am thinking maybe praying a prayer of protection before I sleep would possibly help if I don't wear a nightguard but I'm not sure how to approach this.

I pray that God grants you wisdom to make the best choice for your health. I also pray that God will keep your teeth safe if you don't wear the nightguard and that God will help you fall asleep peacefully if you do wear the nightguard.

I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad experience using a nightguard in the past. I wear a nightguard, which the dentist made for me out of a soft, pliable plastic-ish material that easily slips in and out of my mouth. The worst problem I have with it is that sometimes I spit it out at night and it goes under the bed. Before I got the fitted one, I wore a child size guard that's used for sports- about $2.00 at WalMart. The fitted is much better. My teeth were getting to the point where I was on my way to needing crowns- which, of course, are way more expensive than a dentist fitted guard. I hope your dentist can help you find something that's convenient and useful.
