(Deuteronomy 12:30) Take heed to yourself that you be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before you; and that you inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Pagan symbols can be made to point to Christ. Moses did it. The Oroboros or aka serpent swallowing it's tail originates in Egypt. Wouldn't ya' know. Moses changed the tail into a foot to crush it's head. Kinda funny really.

Wow you were there in the exodus of the children of israel and saw the bronze serpent with your own two eyes and can assure me it was a pagan emblem, no, you weren't there and you don't have one iota of God's word to support your man fabricated claim.

I thought you wanted the truth as to whether they could be or not...?

What about pagan icons then? Because the Catholic Church claimed to have the authority to do it, and did it to a lot of what we now know as "Christian" today, etc...?

What if it has something to do with "authority", etc...?

Moses, sure, Jesus, most definitely, the RCC when it first got going...? I don't know...? Or maybe I'm maybe not as, or so sure maybe, etc...?

Anyway,

God Bless!

Someone claiming they know exactly what an emblem is without one iota of God's word to support it is not truth, and roman catholicism is full of falsehoods with their pagan sculptures renamed saints and their pagan obelisk for all to see. You know what happens when you compromise with the world, you get pagan days and pagan ways.

Oftentimes many different emblems have meant some very different things down through the ages, and at different times, and eras, and ages, and stages, etc...?

Sometimes studying the evolution of it all can be an interesting study, etc....?

God Bless!

Good citation.

I think that verse shines a negative light on "monkey see, monkey do" trendiness.

Which is present in many facets of society aside from worship practice.

[Do you think God approves if the church adopts pagan symbols and say they represent the church?]

Pagan symbols like the all seeing eye on the US dollar could be relatively harmless.

The real danger could be trendiness and lemming complex of followers blindly embracing the practices of others.

In the bible, God takes people like Saul of Tarsus and makes them devout followers. Which could mean what is holy and what is not lies in God's domain.

I think that God is more powerful than any created object or symbol. His holiness can be manifested through whatever he chooses to bless, even to using the mud by the pool of Siloam to cure the blindness of a beggar. I am curious what you think of Christian icons, statues, paintings.

Yes, but it's kind of difficult.
You have to convert the God first.
When Thor submits to Christ, then the symbols of Thor will be holy ;)
(Mjölnir would make a great trophy ;)

Nothing is inherently a symbol of paganism, for pagans have just made symbols of things God made beforehand. But all that is created is God's and shows His glory, so while people try to pervert it's meaning it really is in a sense all a symbol of God just how the work of an artist reveals things about Him so does God's creation reveal Him.

Worse still is that our religion was first before all of them, our God made the first humans and preached the first Gospel into the world (Genesis 3:15), so really who is copying who? They've perverted things of ours not the other way around.

This is absolutely the case. The pagan abuse of symbols and geometric patterns, all of which are either found in or inspired by mature, and thus the natural beauty of God’s creation, can be likened in a sense to what has happened to the word “gay”, which a century ago was understood to mean visible happiness and having fun, but which was perverted to refer to homosexual perversion. A century ago, it was a common name for women, even.

Do you really think witchcraft symbols created by pagans under the influence of satan were ever holy or ever will be? You know what you get when you compromise with the world?, pagan days and pagan ways. God bless you.

You don’t seem to understand that witches and Satan don’t create anything. Sin is not creation, it is uncreation; it represents damage and destruction. Again, consider the example of the hijacking and perversion of the previously innocent word “Gay” by the homosexuals.

Also, there are no Pagan days. All days were created by God.

Do you believe Jesus is God incarnate?

If the corollary of your praxis is the similitude of something pagan in origin then it is, pagan days and pagan ways. God bless you.

We're not talking about taking something good and giving it a bad meaning, we are talking about something evil in origin and trying to make it holy which is an abomination to the Lord of hosts. And satan's works convey sin and death into the world, also pagans under the influence of subtle satan created witchcraft symbols not someone holy. What was an abomination and sin in the old hebrew scriptures is still today and I will continue to walk in God's ways. God bless you.

I guess that means you do think abominations can be adopted into the church.

What I think is what I said, so where did I say this? You will find I did not in fact say this so your guess about what I think is inaccurate.
