LET'S BE CLEAR
I am just being the messenger. I don't necessarily oppose the Biden positions stated below. I just note that there hasn't been a radical change.

There seems to be very little difference from Trump. Certainly his foreign policy is different from different from that of Obama. I suppose that we'll hear more words when Biden addresses the UN.

1) Biden didn't consult France before signing a deal with the UK and Australia, that involves having Australia tear up their agreement with France.

2) Biden didn't consult our allies, not even NATO participants, before starting the pullout from Afghanistan. It doesn't even seem that we coordinated much during the evacuation. I suspect that he didn't even check with MI-6 for their information on the dangers to the airport, especially in the final days.

3) COVID vaccine policy and travel restrictions have not been coordinated with our allies. At least, we have rejoined the scientific world, and specifically the WHO.

4) We haven't even considered entering the Asian economic agreement which Obama backed, and Trump pulled out of.

5) Biden hasn't been any more serious than Trump with regard to getting back into the Iran deal, rather than requiring serious changes.

6) We'll see in November, but I don't expect US agreeing to hard limits with regard to climate change. There will be lots of platitudes. At least, we are working WITH the rest of the world.

7) Biden wanted to improve our military agreements with Japan. India and Australia are part of the "Quad'. Does this sound like an Obama agreement that would involve 20+ countries, or a Trump one that is very focused on improving US security by signing narrow agreements.

8) There were one UN country voting to support the US embargo of Cuba. Only Israel supports the US. Trump reversed many of Obama's efforts. Biden has done nothing to reverse Trump's efforts.

9) Democrats criticized Trump's aggressive China policy with its war of words. Biden continued the war of words and has followed with actions.

10) Democrats railed against the Trump immigration policies, especially regarding Central America and the border. The right attacks Biden on his "policies", but then today is a day ending in "y". Check with the left. The reality is that Harris personally took Biden's message to Central America: don't expect any serious changes. BTY how much has legal immigration been increased this year? What policies have changed?

I really don’t understand the reaction from Macron on this. The deal was between Australia and French. Australia broke the deal with French. I can see why French might be mad at Aussies, but USA doesn’t make sense. And if French is mad at USA, then how they are not mad at UK? The deal was between USA, Australia and UK. Why recalls Ambassadors to U.S. , Australia and not UK?

I wonder if he's been storing up the way he wanted to do things when he was VP.

It's kind of funny how in light of this, Donald's supporters still see Biden as their enemy...

...perhaps they miss the insults?

I don't think it matters one iota. He's from the 'other side'. The GOP could put up a corpse and it'd have people vigorously defending its apparent lack of engagement.

???

Australia had a deal to buy submarines from France.

The US offered to sell better submarines to Australia, and upgrade their defense pact.

Yes, France should be upset with Australia. However, the US made the better offer, which allowed the Australians to walk away from the deal with France.

The US could have lots different. They could have discussed the issue with one of their top allies. Instead, Biden made a very Trumpian move (and arguably the right move). The UK is looking for closer relationships outside of Europe. The US and Australia enabled that.

I understand all that you wrote here. But the part I don’t get is why Macron is so mad at US but not UK. USA and UK both made the deal with Australia, but it seems like Macron only mad at US but not UK. Could that be local politics?

I think Macron realises that trying to take up his rosbif with the Brits won't get him anywhere. Too many centuries of tongue-in-cheek jousting. That and he sees GB as the junior party, only in the room to pour the tea and do as told.

So it’s all about politics

Yes, it could be local politics.

I'm not sure that I understand your issue. France lost jobs to the US, not to the UK.
