LET'S BE CLEAR
I am just being the messenger. I don't necessarily oppose the Biden positions stated below. I just note that there hasn't been a radical change.
There seems to be very little difference from Trump. Certainly his foreign policy is different from different from that of Obama. I suppose that we'll hear more words when Biden addresses the UN.
1) Biden didn't consult France before signing a deal with the UK and Australia, that involves having Australia tear up their agreement with France.
2) Biden didn't consult our allies, not even NATO participants, before starting the pullout from Afghanistan. It doesn't even seem that we coordinated much during the evacuation. I suspect that he didn't even check with MI-6 for their information on the dangers to the airport, especially in the final days.
3) COVID vaccine policy and travel restrictions have not been coordinated with our allies. At least, we have rejoined the scientific world, and specifically the WHO.
4) We haven't even considered entering the Asian economic agreement which Obama backed, and Trump pulled out of.
5) Biden hasn't been any more serious than Trump with regard to getting back into the Iran deal, rather than requiring serious changes.
6) We'll see in November, but I don't expect US agreeing to hard limits with regard to climate change. There will be lots of platitudes. At least, we are working WITH the rest of the world.
7) Biden wanted to improve our military agreements with Japan. India and Australia are part of the "Quad'. Does this sound like an Obama agreement that would involve 20+ countries, or a Trump one that is very focused on improving US security by signing narrow agreements.
8) There were one UN country voting to support the US embargo of Cuba. Only Israel supports the US. Trump reversed many of Obama's efforts. Biden has done nothing to reverse Trump's efforts.
9) Democrats criticized Trump's aggressive China policy with its war of words. Biden continued the war of words and has followed with actions.
10) Democrats railed against the Trump immigration policies, especially regarding Central America and the border. The right attacks Biden on his "policies", but then today is a day ending in "y". Check with the left. The reality is that Harris personally took Biden's message to Central America: don't expect any serious changes. BTY how much has legal immigration been increased this year? What policies have changed?
