The greatest of the Raiders!!!

I was in Las Vegas last week. (I am sure I will hear the entire "OH You're not a real Christian because you went to Las Vegas" Garbagio on here again) BUT I was amazed at how the Las Vegas Strip has Embraced the Raiders. We drove by the Stadium, would love to go back sometime in a few years and see a game there. I went in a Bar and the Bar seats were black with Raiders Logos on them, and they had Raiders logos on the wall. Went into another Gift ship, Raiders gear front and center. Airport gift shop too. They seem to have Raiders logos and signs all over the place. Lots of Commercial backing and Vegas will actually be a good place for the Raiders, once the pandemic lifts.

Yeah I am originally from Oakland and have family in LA so I was sad to see them leave, CA but they aren't too far away and it was a move that made sense. I'm still a fan plus I live in the Seahawks area now anyway. Plus the Raiders and Vegas go well together because there are a lot of short flights from the Bay Area and Socal. Raiders are everywhere!

If anyplace could say Raiders other than Oakland, then it would have to be Vegas. I think it is going to be a good fit. The town is embracing and marketing the Raiders well.

Once the Pandemic lifts, I can see a fun weekend in Vegas around a Raiders game.

Considering that my pastor is the Umpire on my officiating crew, featuring an atheist Head Linesman, a Lesbian Back Judge and a Jewish White Hat, giving the two of us plenty of windshield time answering religious questions of the “unwashed”. I fail to see the criticism of the game. Especially when it was the lesbian’s request that we not leave the locker room until we prayed before each game.
I would refer to that opportunity as a ministry moment.

Fun day My two favorite teams played each other. In the End, the RAIDERS edged out the Steelers.
I am thinking Big Ben is just getting too old and it seems like he does not take many chances. On the other hand, the Gruden Grinder is playing much better than I had thought they would.

I had a HUGE laugh on a recent Sports Chat room. I mentioned that my favorite team in the STEELERS but my second favorite team was the Raiders. Someone told me that I am not a real football fan, because the Raiders and Steelers are in the same conference and therefore somehow rivals.
Tell that person only teams in the same division can be rivals.

I don't think there is any question the nastiest rivalry in football is Bengals/Steelers. That matchup is how several NFL game safety rules were added. One of the most fun matchups OTOH is Ravens/Steelers since it is rarely a blowout.
I told the guy, "Yeah, I get people in Christian Forums telling me all the time that I am not a real Christian either."
That is not allowed here. Whatever reason people have for saying that can't be related to football.
Fact is, I like football. I will watch a game regardless of who is playing, but some will be more interesting, of course, than others.
Especially the shootouts like Super Bowl 52.

It was clear to me last season the elbow injury caused permanent loss of arm strength. Big Ben seems to not throw downfield much anymore.

This goes back to when these forums DID tolerate that behavior, and for all I know, it still might but my Iggy list grows to include those who do. Being a free thinker as opposed to a "yes man" has it's disadvantages with a few people here.

As for football, I think you are correct, in regards to Big Ben's arm strength. I had hoped that having a good Running back in Harris would help open up the offense, and it has to some extent, but I think an upgrade on the Line would help more than anything else.
And I have said it before, and I will say it again. I miss Troy Polamalu. I wish the Steelers could find another DB like him.

Thanks to what Aaron Rodgers said on the Pat McAfee Show about not being vaccinated, my mom (who is also a liberal Democrat) now hates him and will stop rooting for the Packers forever. She does not hate all unvaccinated people, of course, but the whole story - first why he chose not to get a vaccine, then his lies and misleading statements, then his NFL rule violations - makes her never want to see him again. So now she is officially a Saints fan. I will continue rooting for Green Bay along with New Orleans.

Although most of the teams I cheer for are Michigan based teams, I have always been a fan of the Green Bay Packers. Go Pack Go!

I have a hard time believing that you are not a secret Lions Fan just tired of all the losing and especially to the Packers so you decided to go to the other side :)!

Used to be big Lions fan. Now turned off from all the virture signaling the league's been doing as well as their double-standards. The league has a long ways to go before they win me back. Won't watch a minute of them.
Hey DragonFox I am a Detroit LIons Fan also but I tire of all the worldly forums that talk Lions football and I would like to avoid all the vulgarity and profanity but still talk football or thought on the the team - how would you like to talk about the Lions for a while and the upcoming season!

Well, we are a little less than a month to the start of the regular season. In regards to questions, I think the following will happen:
The Raiders will have more wins than the Steelers.
The Lions will finish second in the Division but not make the playoffs.
The Rams will not make the NFC Championship game.
The Bengals will face stiffer competition this year because teams will take them seriously And they will still play in the AFC title game.
The Texans will have the first draft pick next year. The Giants, Falcons Jets, Jaguars will round out the bottom 5.
Again, just predictions, I am not a bettor, nor do I encourage it...But I would say that in the NFL anything can happen.
