Hi Folks

I just realized that there's probably nobody left in this forum that knows me. I joined CF 12 years ago, and back then, my mission was to find a faith group that just plainly believes the Word - all of it. See, to this day, I'm not aware of any WOF churches in my corner of the African continent. That's why I was drawn to this group - based on what I truly believe. I grew up in a sect that believed/practiced some really unbiblical stuff, and left right after leaving home. So, I have, and still do identify with WOF, because my core beliefs align nicely with the statement of faith posted up top.

So, after joining CF, I served as a moderator up until life saw me getting too busy to keep up with my duties as a moderator. One thing that truly saddened me was witnessing all the attacks on this faith group. Another was seeing repeat offenders switching labels to bait/debate/divide and chase people away. That is one of the reasons why I gave up and left, deciding to abandon CF forever. But, as of late, the Lord has been pulling on the strings of my heart to come back and at least be willing to stand up for the plain Biblical truth that WOF stands for. (IE, not trying to take over the forum, but just to be in my corner and quietly being available as and when the Lord so wills)

So, moving right along, are there any folks who have been called and served in workplace ministry?

This happened to me some years ago. It was one of the most brutally challenging times of my life, but also the most fulfilling in all my life. The idea of fostering unity among such a wide range of believers, is one thing that one can only hope to achieve with constant Divine guidance. Like the one time when I was compelled to invite a roman catholic to our group. The idea left me mortified. I pleaded with the Lord that I am terrified of what's going to happen when this catholic starts praying to mother Mary. So, after the third time, I just went ahead and invited her. What happened next will remain with me for the rest of my days. Everyone spontaneously joined hands and started taking turns praying. When her turn came, she prayed directly to God the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. I told her afterwards that this was an example of being led by the Spirit, and to never fight it, but to go along with it in humble obedience. Her life changed, along with the lives of dozens of other believers. And the rest is history (I'm stopping here because it will probably take a week to type up most of the awesome things that we witnessed in those years)

Not all RCs pray to Mary. The RC churches spiritual foundation is the trinity. Mary doctrine came along through the centuries and really took off with Pope John Paul II who was enamored with her. But not all individual Catholic churches feed so heavy on this. There are a bunch of reformer truths and also misconceptions about the RC church, just as there are about WOF. Don't assume every individual Catholic is the same. Over all it's certainly a broken system though, at best. And many Catholics know it, they stick it out anyway, some even born again believers who privately gave their lives over to Jesus Christ.. If they read the bible at all, which most don't, it's a Catholic approved bible.

Ahh, I see - thank you for that. I just realized something right now... Glory to God!

You see, I spoke to her just before that prayer meeting. She asked me what the format of the meeting was like. I explained that we share, and then close with prayer. I actually heard her pray to Mary. But here's the kicker: The Spirit did not allow me to correct her, and I never understood why. But now, after all these years, I understand. He wanted her to get used to being led by the Spirit - and not judged and have her faith damaged. And now I understand why she overflowed with joy when talking to her after the meeting. I remember telling her that what happened to her was the Holy Spirit leading her in prayer. And this next part is what must have ignited her faith. I told her that this event was proof of God's love for her, and that must be why she overflowed, and correct me if I'm wrong, but RC's who pray to Mary do so because the don't feel worthy to pray directly to God the Father? If so, that must be why she was so overjoyed - knowing for sure that God loves her so much that she can feel free to address Him directly.

How do you know she had no faith before ? She could have been joyful she found some folks to engage that faith with.
We love to look at things from our own position but what's God doing in many ways that we can't even begin to understand ?

Oh she did have faith before, make no mistake. I should have used the word "grow" instead of "Ignite". But I can see where you are coming from.

I was watching her quite carefully after the meeting. She was quite relaxed, but not overjoyed at all. We spoke for quite a while afterwards. And I may be wrong, but right after telling her about that experience being proof of God's love, she did overflow.

But yes, what you say is true. We can't hope to understand the exact reasoning of God, as we are finite creatures, and He is infinite. Be it as it may, it was a blessing to play a small part in His work. What I can understand, is that more harm would have been done than good if I were to argue with her before that meeting.

Arguing really has little value imo, least regarding the type of situation you describe. We should make the case of the precepts of God and let the Spirit speak from there.

It is true many Catholics believe they need an intermediary in their personal prayer life, usually a saint, between themselves and speaking directly to God. Now I will say one thing in their favor, many people have been deceived thinking something is of the Holy Spirit and it surely is of some spirit not necessarily the Holy Spirit. Same for encounters in your life or home. So all that to say, the Catholic is taught to play it safe. The problem is just that scripture doesn't make this a positional truth to pray to the dead or someone made saint after death lol . It does say test every spirit that it is of God and it does say not to pray to the dead. It say's the Holy Spirit will for a better word, translate our words to the Father to make them acceptable but it does not say to pray to man made dead saints ( Course in order for that to happen we need the Holy Spirit). Least not in the books we know of as the bible, maybe it's in the apocrypha someplace, which some denominations accept also as the word of God. Scripture says to pray to the Father in Jesus' name. Catholics only accept a Catholic approved bible so your plain Jane KJV or ESV etc. they just ignore. And of course to everything I've said here regarding Catholics has exceptions, there are several sects for one thing, to include evangelical..

I Remember you!
I have been away as well, for the same reasons you have.
I have a business, and the majority of our people are Christian.
We are not all on the same page with our doctrines, But that is not a deal breaker.
I do not advertise our Christian beliefs in order to make sales, people will see Christ in us without being informed.
I minister in my community, and witness to whoever I can.
God has sent all kinds of people my way, Catholics and other denominations as well.
I'm glad I stopped in Tonight !
I will come back and enjoy the fellowship.

Long time no see, dear brother.

I remember you too, vividly. I'll always remember you as a pillar of light in these forums. Looking forward to catch up. I wonder if anyone's seen Ablessedman or HolySpiritWOF as of late... I do believe it was one of those folks who introduced me to the WOF movement and started telling me about it's (Entirely Biblical) beliefs.

Hi andreha, I have been here since 2012. I have conversed with you just a few times over quite a few years ago. I have no clue what we have talked about though. It's nice to see different ones that have checked in to probably see who is still around. I really miss
ABlessedman (Bob) and HolySpiritWOF along with several others. I did notice that ABlessedMan did peek in here on May 10th of this year but unfortunately it was a hit and run.

Just as Nowfaith and myself have joined together to be a watchman on the forum and help keep it going. We're both keeping everyone of our members in prayer and believing that they will return. I just came in to say hello to ya, and keep all past members in memory. We need to stick together and restore our forum and continue fellowshipping. There is a lot going on in our nation and it's becoming more unrecognizable as each day passes.

There are a few other posters who from other forums come in and chat with us from time to time. They may not be WOF but they come in and are WOF friendly and that's fine.
Well, I've got to run and you and Nowfaith have a nice evening and will catch you guys later.

Where in South Africa are you? I have connections with a number of WoF churches in the South African area. What City are you near?

I'm close to Krugersdorp in Gauteng. Thanks for that. It would be delightful to find a WoF based church around these parts. Many churches here do preach the Gospel, but they all lack in practical teaching of the Holy Spirit, and the role He plays in our life.

I'm in the US so no clue but a quick google search did pull this result up a bit south of you.

Word of Faith Bible Church Nkadimeng St, Naledi, Johannesburg, 1868, South Africa no website
Word of Faith Ministry 136/14466 ext, 12 Aspen Cres, Protea Glen, Soweto, 1819, Soweto, 1446, South Africa Welcome to Word of Faith Christian Centre - Word of Faith Christian Centre

Looking over the website, they definitely ascribe to the WOF doctrine so they're probably your best bet. Up in Krugersdorp specifically, while there are a lot of churches. I couldn't really find anything that fit WOF. Closest I came to are a few pentecostal churches.

Thank you for that bro. My only challenge would be that those areas are extremely dangerous. Violence and lawlessness over there is way out of control. The media is very silent on that.

That must explain why the second one was surrounded by a fence meant for security purposes.
