Greetings Brother Steven, and salvation of the fullest for you and yours!
To you and yours as well.
Thank you. And good timing.

We just moved our home. It was a big ordeal to get moved. We had been in our previous home for 23 years. At the end of May our landlord contacted us to inform us that he needed his house back. We had been great tenants, so nothing to do with us. He just needed his property back ASAP. He gave us to the end of the Summer to get out. But asked that we leave ASAP. He gave us 60 days after the governor's moratorium on evictions due to Covid. Which put us out to end of September.

We found out pretty quickly that renting was VERY expensive now. (prices had tripled since '97) It turned out that everything in our price range was a scam. Bad news. We managed to navigate through that mess without losing any money. (PTL)

I got a newsletter from a realtor friend in the mail and inquired with him about our situation. Buying seemed to be cheaper than renting, so we started to look for a house to buy. The lender was happy to work with us. Landlords had refused to work with us due to our income. We couldn't afford their rental property.

In the meantime, my son got a job where I work and our combined income got us more available funds. Unfortunately, we ran out of time for house buying and had to return to the rental market. (had to allow 40+ days to close)

We were getting down to the wire and frankly had trouble even finding the property that we needed available.

I had contended all along that "God knew where we were going, and he was smiling." (my statement of faith)

We ended up in an awesome place. Very thankful.

It was a test too.
The situation was very hard on my family. My first-born ended up in the hospital for two weeks and was then diagnosed with MS. So, the stress of the situation triggered the onset. We are thankful that he is able to walk now. He has to use a cane all the time. Permanent damage. His younger brother had life-threatening issues with the stress as well. Finding suitable housing was a herculean task. Room for four adults and handicap access that we could afford. This place is perfect. But it was down to the wire. And I know others have been through worse, so we are very grateful.

I surely hope Steven found goodness and mercy through that storm!
Good to hear from you. I saw you posting out on the forum and remembered you from this topic. Thanks for checking in.

My son has been mostly stable through this situation with MS. He had one episode that we had to deal with. But that was it for the first year in our new home.

But the challenges have returned in other areas. The enemy is trying take away this wonderful home that God has provided. And my health and job have been attacked.

To our surprise, the landlord sent us a 30-days to vacate notice instead of a lease renewal. We have been model tenants, so I have no idea why this is happening. My son with MS is getting help through the county. We live on the extreme east edge of the county and my job is to the east of us in the next county. We moved here to be closer to work. So, there is a very narrow slice of county to find another home in. We really want to stay in this city.

Because of the Covid-19 Eviction Moratorium, we were able to void the 30-days to vacate notice until after October 12th. A letter from a lawyer to my landlord established the rejection of the notice. After much prayer and consideration, we are hoping to stay here. This place is perfect for us. And the real estate market is crazy right now. Properties that cost $200k a year ago are now $300k. And ten buyers line up to fight for each of them bidding thousands over the asking price to win the bids.

We know that the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord. So, we pray that situation will change somehow and we will be able to stay put and sign a two-year lease.

The other big area of attack has been my health. My wife brought Covid home. I was off work for the month of May. I ended up in the emergency room at one point. They did not hospitalize me, but it was a close call. Fortunately, I was in good health when Covid hit. That may have saved me somewhat.

Unfortunately, my immune system seems to be compromised and I have been sick more than I have been well since May. I had a sinus infection for six weeks which took me through five consecutive rounds of antibiotics, which led to problems with my digestive system. A sixth round of antibiotics was needed to heal my diverculitis (bulge in the colon) which finally cleared up my sinus infection but left me with an ulcer in my duodenum. (the tube that connects the stomach and small intestine) This required an upper GI procedure to get a closer look at the ulcer and biopsy anything else found.

Fortunately, my employer has been supportive and is able to use a provision from the government to subsidize Covid pay for effected employees. Despite being off work for months, full pay has continued. (I continued to test POSITIVE even 3 months after May) A blessing in disguise.

I am back to work now, but still in recovery with this ulcer. (8 weeks of Prilosec) Not fun. Side effects galore. On the brighter side, Chocolate milk is my new best friend. - lol

So, our current plan is to hold onto the home that God has given us and see what October 12th brings. We are at risk of eviction, which we could fight. But our lease provides for a month-to-month arrangement. So, we will stay current with payments so there is no grounds for an eviction.

A prayer from anyone who reads this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Absolutely! Praying, Dear Father, your word remains true regardless of time and distance and all wellbeing, though that is the very struggle we oft are faced to navigate them all, often at the same time. I submit Lord an appeal for your rich mercy upon these attacks against brother Steven. Your hand is not shortened of the details either Lord but always according to the petitions He already sees for needs, ‘intercession for the saints’, praying the finger of God and available host curtail and turn back this attack with the finality of your excellent blessing, according to your unsurpassing way, your rich compassion. Meet his many needs in Jesus name!

Thanks, brother.
That is a powerful prayer. Warfare against the enemy who is bent to kill, steal and destroy.
