John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

Jesus did the same every day, why not acknowledge that..
According to Jesus doing good on the Sabbath is not breaking the Sabbath *Matthew 12:1-12

"According to the scriptures, no one can claim to know God if they are knowingly breaking God's commandments *1 John 2:3-4; 1 John 3:6-9. Those who do so are lying and need to be born again because the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil is sin which is defined in the scriptures as the transgression of the law *1 John 3:4-10."

You keep reminding us of Gods commandments, yet in the new testament Sabbath is not one of them, do you see this?

LoveGodsword: " Jesus did not break the Sabbath because if he broke the Sabbath he was a sinner and we are therefore all lost according to that interpretation of the scriptures. According to the scriptures Jesus was sinless (1 Peter 2:22; 2 Corinthians 5:21) so he did not break the Sabbath. He broke the Scribes and the Pharisees false interpretation of how the Sabbath was to be kept. There is a difference. He as God came to teach us what is lawful to do on the Sabbath *Matthew 12:1-12 and showed is that it is lawful to do good even on the Sabbath day."

Breaking the Sabbath is breaking the law of Moses, it is broken, otherwise sabbath breaking would be told as sin in the new Testament, as in the old it is told a hundred times that God is against Israel for brewaking the Sabbaths.

Clearly it ended, as did rebuke on it.

Jesus did not keep the Sabbath, as Jesus came to reconcile man to God, keeping the Sabbath is not reconciliation, but the love of God dying for all men is, making of two, one new man.

Yes lawful to do good, but not sin on Sabbath, for not resting. That is adding to the whole new Testament.

LoveGodsword: "Ignored"

Proverbs 21:28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.

Jeremiah 7:27 Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.
28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

Proverbs 13:1 A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

Sabbath is not a law mentioned in the new testament, but it is in the old. That law is gone, or wpuld be reaffirmed in the new, as all others are, as you just quoted.

According to the scriptures God's Law (10 commandments) have the same role they always have under the new covenant and that is to give us the knowledge of good (moral right doing) and evil (moral wrong doing); sin (moral wrong doing) and righteousness (moral right doing) *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Psalms 119:172 and according to James if we break anyone of them we stand guilty before God of sin *James 2:10-11. This of course includes Gods' 4th commandment which is one of Gods' 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken. The Sabbath is mentioned all through the old and new testament scriptures (more scripture support here and here). There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that Gods' 4th commandment is now abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest. According to the scriptures, Sunday worship is a man-made teaching and tradition of some in the early Church that have led many away from God and His Word. Jesus says in Matthew 15:3-9 if we knowingly, follow the teachings and traditions of men that lead us to break the commandments of God we are not worshiping God. If therefore we are not worshiping God the question should be asked who are we worshiping God or man? BABYLON has fallen (Revelation 14:8-12; Revelation 17:1-5; Revelation 18:1-5) the Church's of the world have fallen and departed the Word of God. According to the scriptures in times of ignorance when we do not know any better, God winks at but now calls all men everywhere to believe and follow His Word *Acts of the Apostles 5:29. According to Jesus the hour is coming and now is that the true worshipers will worship the father in Spirit and in truth. God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth *John 4:23-24. God is calling His sheep out from following man-made teachings and traditions back to the pure Word of God. Those who hear and follow according to the scriptures are His sheep but those who do not hear and do not follow were never His sheep to begin with *John 10:26-27. Hebrews 4:9 Therefore it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath.

Take care.

LoveGodsword, your whole life, religion, and soul is based on something that is not in the New Testament, not supported, not shown as sin to not be kept, and changed form the old Testament, of when it is was law of sin and death. Should you not be more open to investigate if not only you went wrong, but you brought many others into wrong too?

For me only Gods' Word is true and we should believe and follow them over the teachings and traditions of men that lead others to break the commandments of God (Romans 3:4; Acts of the Apostles 5:29). You speak your own words that are not Gods' Word or biblical in this post.

LoveGodsword: "Hebrews 4:9 Therefore it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath."

That is the opposite, no rest as God rested, there remains a rest, it is not yet, Jesus did all he did every day, we do not see Jesus resting on any day. Now can you say Jesus taught Sabbath keeping, it is not in our New Testament as you know, or would show it.

It is law in the old, it is taught how they die for not keeping it, now it is liberty in Christ, and we therefore labour to enter into Gods rest, your own idea of resting early, shows you rest in every way too, even resting from your own religion discussion..

Hebrews 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Speak Gods word that supports your showing of the law in the new testament, but how no such word at all speaks of Sabbath keeping as part of any law of Christ, you know in the entire new Testament ?
Read my posts. God's Word has been provided all through them. They are God's Words not mine that you deny with your words that are not Gods' in this post (scripture support here and here linked; see post # 212)

Hardening the heart to sin, is when the people did not know the ways of the Lord, that is faithlessness, that is to not enter the rest of the Lord.

Psalm 95:8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

Hebrews 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

This teaches nothing of Sabbath rest, but of unbelief, and then to exhort to not be hardened to sin, as then they enter not ( not into sabbath rest but into the Kingdom of Heaven and Israel could not enter into the promised land)..

Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Hebrews 3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

I know your religion is based on sabbath importance, but you are making the same error of own righteousness as Israel made, and I support no other religion on earth, only in Christ.

How do you see it as right, to teach Sabbath keeping, and not belief in righteousness over sin instead in these passages?

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Hebrews 3:7-19 to Hebrews 4:1-11 is warning us that if we do not believe and follow God's Word (the gospel) and we continue in sin and unbelief (Hebrews 3:10-13; 18-19) we will never enter into God's rest (His Rest/My Rest) which is defined as the "seventh day" Sabbath rest in Hebrews 4:1-5. Hebrews 4:3-5 defines God's rest by saying [3], For we which have believed do enter into rest (our rest from or the gospel rest of believing and following God's Word), as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest (God's rest): although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. [4], For he spoke in a certain place of the "seventh day" on this wise, And God did rest the "seventh day" from all his works. [5], And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest ("seventh day"). There are two rests being described. One is our rest we receive through believing and following God's Word (the gospel) *Matthew 11:28-30; Hebrews 4:2-4 and God's rest *Hebrews 3:11; 18; Hebrews 4:1; 3; 5-6; 8-9; 10-11. Hebrews 4:9 THEREFORE IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH. Why? Because the true seventh day Sabbath rest is a sign of God's true people who God sanctifies to keep all the commandments of God through faith in God's Word *Exodus 31:13; Exodus 31:17; Ezekiel 20:12; Ezekiel 20:20; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 22:14.

Not at all. My religion is that of God's Word and believing and following what Gods' Word says because I love God. What is your religion based on beside a teaching of lawlessness (without law) and that Gods commandments are abolished when Jesus says in His own words "think not that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets... *Matthew 5:17-20?

They labour to enter, or fall after the same example of no fear of God and unbelief, there remains a rest yet to the people of God ( eternal rest)..

Hebrews 4:Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

WHAT IS GOD’S REST IN HEBREWS 3 and HEBREWS 4?

HEBREWS 4:1-11
[1], Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into HIS REST, any of you should seem to come short of it.
[2], For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
[3], For WE WHICH HAVE BELIEVED DO ENTER INTO REST, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into MY REST: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
[4], For he spoke in a certain place of the SEVENTH DAY on this wise, And God did rest the SEVENTH DAY from all his works.
[5], And in this place again, If they shall enter into MY REST.

KEY POINTS FROM THE SCRIPTURES OF HEBREWS 4:1-5 (exegesis)

NOTE: Context in Hebrews 4:1-5 is God's Rest from the seventh day Sabbath from the foundation of the world (v4-5) and those who enter Gods rest by and believing and following Gods Word [the gospel] who enter into God's Sabbath rest as God did on the seventh day of the week. The context here defining God’s rest/My rest/His rest is to God’s seventh day Sabbath rest created at the foundation of the world that those who believe or do not believe God's WORD do or do not enter into. The new testament writer of Hebrews is warning us that if we do not believe and follow God's Word (the gospel) and continue in sin and unbelief (Hebrews 3:10-13; 18-19) we will never enter into God's rest (His Rest/My Rest) which is defined as the "seventh day" Sabbath rest in Hebrews 4:1-5. There are two rests here. One is to the rest we enter into by believing and following Gods Word which is our rest and the rest we enter into by believing and following God’s Word to God’s rest which is the seventh day Sabbath.

[6], Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
[7], Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
[8], For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
[9] SO THEN, IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.
[10], For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. [11], Let us labor therefore to enter that rest, [God’s REST the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH] lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief [rejecting God’s WORD and sin; Hebrews 3].

KEY POINTS OF HEBREWS 4:9 (exegesis)

Now notice Hebrews 4, verse 9: “SO THEN, IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.” In verses 1, 3, 4 and 8, the Greek word for “rest” is katapausin. It means “rest.” But in verse 9, the Greek word for “rest” is sabbatismos, which is a Hebrew word—Sabbat, which means “the Sabbath”—combined with a Greek suffix—ismos, which means “a keeping of” or “a doing of.” Put together, sabbatismo means “a keeping of the Sabbath.” When correctly translated, Hebrews 4:9 should read, “There remains therefore a keeping of the Sabbath to the people of God.”

According to the Greek and scripture contexts of Hebrews 3:7-19 and Hebrews 4:1-9, Hebrews 4:9 is in regards to God’s seventh day Sabbath of the 4th commandment which in the context of Hebrews 4:1-5 which defines God’s rest/My rest/His rest (Hebrews 3:11; 18-19; Hebrews 4:1; 3; 5; 10) as the “seventh day” from the foundation of the world *Hebrews 4:3-4.

............

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
Hebrews 4:9 So then, it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath.

Lamsa Bible
Hebrews 4:9 It is therefore the duty of the people of God to keep the Sabbath.

................

For your interest, the Greek word used here for Sabbath is Sabbatismos and means a Sabbath keeping or keeping of the Sabbath or how the Sabbath is kept by resting.

HEBREWS 4:9 [9], SO THEN IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.

…………..

One is our rest we receive through believing and following God's Word (the gospel) *Matthew 11:28-30; Hebrews 4:2-3 and God's rest *Hebrews 3:11; 18; Hebrews 4:1; 3; 5-6; 8-9; 10-11. Hebrews 4:9 THEREFORE IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH. Why? Because the true seventh day Sabbath rest is a sign of God's true people who God sanctifies to keep all the commandments of God through faith in God's Word *Exodus 31:13; Exodus 31:17; Ezekiel 20:12; Ezekiel 20:20; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 22:14.

................

SUMMARY: God's rest is the "seventh day Sabbath" of creation. Our rest is that of believing and following Gods' Word. No one enters into God's rest (defined in Hebrews as the "seventh day Sabbath") unless they believe and follow Gods' Word (the gospel rest). Of course God's 4th commandment of the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:8-11) are a part of God's Word (the gospel) that God's people who enter into Gods rest believe and follow in Gods' Word just like Jesus did and the Apostles and prophets in Gods' Word. Everything provided here are not my words but have been taken directly from the scriptures which are God's Words not mine (exegesis). The warnings here are very clear. Those who do not believe and follow God's Word in order to continue in a life of known unrepentant sin (breaking anyone of God's commandments - James 2:10-11) just like those in the wilderness do not enter into Gods' rest (seventh day Sabbath) and will be in danger of the judgement to come (Hebrews 10:26-31)

.....................

Gods' Word does not teach the false doctrine of lawlessness (without law). The doctrine of lawlessness is a false teaching that is not biblical and not supported in the scriptures leading many into sin that Jesus says at His second coming " depart from me you who work iniquity I never knew you *Matthew 7:21-23 who are of the same group of people that John says are liars and the truth is not in them in 1 John 2:3-4

Take Care.
