What is the difference between God's grace and God's mercy?

God's mercy is God helping in time of need directly.

On the other hand.. God's grace is His enabling power that enables us beyond our natural limitations.

"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor 12:9a

God gives grace for us to learn and be made prepared through knowledge for all what God wants us to do our good works with. Works that He himself has prepared in advance for us to do.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Eph 2:10

Mercy is God helping when we were not prepared for something.

Grace is God's power to make us to become prepared for all things through Christ. Grace even prepares us for understanding God's mercy!

He is the Word! We are to by grace make the Word come alive in our walk when we walk in grace and knowledge.

I hope that helps.

Grace and peace.

Thank you for your reply but I directed the question
not to you but to the one who started the thread.
I want to know what he has to say about it.

LoveGodsWord said: God's grace, mercy and love are all linked together for forgiveness of sins and includes God's plan of salvation for all mankind because he is not willing that anyone of us should perish but that all men everywhere should believe and follow His Word.
Your response...
I at this point in time cannot believe this for I know that God's will always prevails over all creation. And He knew before hand the whole outcome of it all from the beginning. So knowing this why do you believe it?
So you do not believe it is because Gods' grace, mercy and love includes God forgives for our sins, and that he is not willing that any of us should perish so he made as plan of salvation for us that is revealed through his Word. Is that really what you believe?

Before you and I go any further in this discussion
establish for me the difference between Gods' grace, mercy and love. I know they have similarities but you tell me the differences.
I do not believe you know.
They are not separate from each other the same as the Spirit of the law is not separate from obedience to the law *Romans 13:8-10; Matthew 22:26-40; James 2:8-12; John 14:15 and 1 John 5:2-3

Then if they are not separate from each other why are they 3 different words? Please explain? Are you going to tell me the love of God is the same as the wrath of God?
Grace mercy and love are all unmerited and something none of us deserve or can earn. You did not answer any of my questions to you in post # 327 linked.

If God does anything that is unmerited
then he would not be a just God. Yes or no?
1 John 4:8 He that loves not knows not God; for God is love.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Here again you failed to obey this commandment
Matthew 5:37
But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay:
for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Here I will give you another chance to obey it:
If God does anything that is unmerited
then he would not be a just God. Yes or no?
Your questions have not been answered with my words they have been answered with Gods' Word. Do you not believe them? According to the scriptures, only Gods' Word is truth and we should believe and follow them *Romans 3:4; Acts of the Apostles 5:29.

Sorry... I have that person on Ignore, so your question appeared like a general question to all.

But, it was a good answer!

So faith is a gift like grace - and the two combined result in obedience?

Where does unbelief in a believer fit in ???

Can we frustrate God's Grace?
Without faith you can't receive God's grace.

Good answer and without God's Word we cannot receive faith *Romans 10:17
Also grace through faith doesn't equal no law which is what mixed up religion tries to have you believe, it's a lie man fabricated and infused by satan. God bless you LoveGodsWord I know the truth is in you.

Absolutely! Another good answer, thank you. God's grace according to the scriptures is for obedience to the faith not disobedience *Romans 1:5

Have you received the gift of the Holy Ghost
to which is the power to cease from all your sin by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ?
Yes or no? If not I will testify to you.

All I can do without him is sin for I am a sinner. Who am I that he should love me? I love him now because he first loved me and now I walk by faith in him that loves me and abide in him and he in me. His commands are his promises to me so I can follow him and walk in his ways. The victory that overcomes the world is only found in him and he is the Word that creates all things and works in those who believe. Those that do not believe are still in their sins and do not know him. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. God's Spirit is the Spirit of the Word of God. No one can claim therefore to have Gods' Spirit if they do not believe and follow Gods' Word. Yes I have Gods' Spirit. Gods' Word and God's Spirit are not separate from each other. It is the Spirit of God that works through the Word of God as we believe and follow what Gods' Word says. I believe and follow what Gods' Word says and it is the Spirit of God the testifies to my words that they are true. Now what is it that you do not believe that has been shared with you here?

Absolutely! Another good answer, thank you. God's grace according to the scriptures is for obedience to the faith not disobedience *Romans 1:5
(James 2:21-22) 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Issac his son upon the altar? 22 See you how faith worked with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? [I challenge anyone who says God's law has been abolished to show me the scripture where it says you are judged by anything else other than your works when the righteous Judge returns. Let me save you some time it's not there.] (Romans 2:5-6) 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgement of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds [Not judged by saying I believe and keeping God's law is falling from grace, then you start doing what's right in your own eyes. This is man fabricated doctrine infused by satan and is dead faith. Man doesn't decide what righteous living is God does.] (James 2:26) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.[God bless you.]

I always felt belief is a choice, you do have free will after all.

We only can have free will granted us when the Holy Spirit suppresses our sin nature. That is God's grace in action to free our will to choose without interference from our fallen nature.

Hence... That is why it says that we are saved by *grace* through hearing and accepting the Word of God (faith)... Romans 10:17

If there were no grace applied, and our sin nature was not restrained? Our soul could not believe the Word and have faith.

Without grace no one could get saved.

Wasn't talking about grace, was talking about belief and you do have a choice to accept Christ or reject him, and people before the revelation of Christ had a choice to do what they thought was right or wrong, we're not some automated robots. Also under the old covenant God told the children of Israel to circumcise their hearts but some habitually chose not to again their free will choice, but God fixed the problem granting the free gift of the set-apart spirit to cleanse the inward man. You always have a choice yield your heart to God or live for the world. Grace and the set-apart Spirit are a gift what you choose to believe is up to you. I chose to yield my heart to God when I was under the bondage of sin and he set me free. God bless you.
