Why not BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT!?

God our "Comforter" has given Himself as foretold to be with us "always", to the very end. It is therefore always fitting to consider a continual quest to be filled with every superlative mentioned concerning His attributes of; power for a righteous life, joy and all resulting edification.

Often, I think I may be the world’s worst for giving folks far too much benefit of the doubt, that they are more prone to observe evenly, everything concerning being filled with the Spirit, but we are told by the express fruits at hand that we have no right, as though it is we who are ‘seeking after a sign’ (Mark 16:17) and that the filling is acquired in a fear-strapped humility.

But its the same old story. These are the fruits of misguided instruction, who’s error follows them. If it were not so, you wouldn’t see a thread spiked number of visits go on so nearly thankless!

No, for the elect are the ones who lead the ‘quiet peaceable life’ correctly in faith as observed, not as feared.


As we can see, a "quiet and peaceable life" also comes with expectation.

Went to a new church yesterday, yes. What a blessing, for a non-AOG assembly, we sang more about His presence in one service than I can think of in the last four years at our previous assembly.

Forgive me Lord!

I suspect it safe to say, the title of this thread is not fit for carnal babes in Christ.

Ohh how dark, how depleted and withdrawn some of us get. But, that day of His touch WILL come. Among everything we may encounter, He is infinitly aware. Nor does a sparrow nor a hair from your head fall without His loving knowledge.
