Few people medically exempt from getting COVID-19 vaccine: Experts

"Other than age, there are no major exemptions that cover large groups of people,"

"The only major contraindication to the vaccines listed by the CDC is a severe allergic reaction to the first dose. In those cases, the person is advised to consult a physician and hold off on their second dose, according to Dowdy.

"We're not talking about some people who had pain at the site of injection or a rash, we're talking about anaphylactic shock," he said.

Dowdy said the data so far shows this severe allergy is rare, and less than one in 1 million people experience it."

Based on my own observations, talking to people I am meeting in real life, about 1/10 have experienced temporary or ongoing severe reactions. They are neurological, psychiatric, and cardiovascular in nature. It is not one in a million based on folks I have met, worked with, and compared notes with.

We have got to stop trusting our media, and stop trusting studies. Full stop.

We have also got to stop over-spiritualizing this vaccine. You are not a better Christian if you get it. You are not a better Christian if you don’t get it. The vaccines are not what we need to be careful of, though everyone should be able to choose whether to get this or not get this.

What we really need to be careful and prayerful about is the spirit of division, dehumanization, and terror surrounding this entire process. I am afraid it is a lead-up to something much worse.

before our child went to K, we got the email that no one could attend school w/o required vaccines

never saw any parents at the school with signs
never heard one parent complain & that was several required vaccines not just one

do people forget all the vaccines their kids had before school OR all the vaccines parents needed before school?

my kid had 4 vaccines in 2021
2 required for middle school & 2 covid
no problems whatsoever

Yes, the likelihood of allergic reaction is indeed an acceptable exemption.

I would note that in the UK, these folks simply bring their epi-pen with them and deal with the reaction.
Many there prefer vaccination to getting out of the vaccine and being vulnerable.

yes, vaccine's preferable to getting covid & risking hospitalization or long haul covid which 1/4 of covid survivors end up getting

Wow even anaphylatic shock doesn't buy you an automatic out, but a wait and talk to your doctor maybe!
That's extreme!

If you have already had an experience with another vaccine `~1 per million vaccinations then yes you should have no problem getting an exemption, as would be the case if you have a allergic reaction to the covid vaccine which is also in the 1 per million range. It is not extreme, but the same protocol used for the flu vaccines and childhood vaccines.
It is also the reason that you are monitored for at least 15 minutes after receiving the vaccine in case you are that one in a million.

I agree with your post. Watching Christians belittle one another is troubling. Last year it was politics. Now we're on the vaccine. Will it ever end? That isn't the oneness Christ spoke of. A house divided cannot stand.

God bless and keep you anna. :yellowheart:

That’s good to know because it was implied that not getting vaccinated left this group exposed. Now it seems that there aren’t that many.

A temporary reaction is normal. What kind of ongoing severe reactions have you seen? This is odd to me, I have a huge network and only know of one person who had a major reaction.

Hey, Sparagmos. One person reported a day-and-a-half long psychiatric episode. Another person has reported experiencing sensations as though parts of her body are floating away, and dizziness, for weeks now. Other reported overlapping problems include cranial pressure with dizziness. So many of these problems appear to have a neurological-cardiovascular connection.

A lady next door to me is now experiencing congestive heart failure post-vaccination, though I’m not sure if it’s connected, as she’s not in the best of health. Prior to vaccination, though, she could mow her lawn. Now she can’t even hold her wiggly little dog in her arms or cross the street without almost collapsing.

Second-hand reports (things that have allegedly happened to friends’ family members) include stroke and mild heart attacks.

most are coincidental

at any point in time people experience health issues
if it's close to having a vaccine, they attribute it to vaccine
however, the health problem was going to occur anyway

look at how many people call off work on a given day
say those calling off sick on Friday, had vaccine on Wed
did vaccine cause sickness? or those the people who conveniently always get sick on Fridays?

You are not a better Christian if you get it.

disagree wholeheartedly

by getting vaccine, vaccinated are protecting the under 12 children who are not able to get protected yet

children are dying, over 400 have died so far from covid

40% of people with covid, don't even know they're infected so as they go about their day, they could infect a child

it's the Christian thing to do to protect vulnerable children

once I became a parent, immediately felt MORE protective of ALL children
boggles my mind that people don't care that children are getting covid
even one child's death is too much!
