Another red flag for me personally is....we are told about hell in God's word. Why would God need Bill Weise to convince us of what God has already warned us about? Is B.W. more credible than The Creator of the Heavens and Earth?

A young man who experienced the dark side said later when he was trying to figure things out, he watched a clip about hell (idk which one) and realized that some of those same things had happened to him. Now he has given his heart to Jesus.

I have no idea who the 23 min in hell guy is nor heard of him before. but I had a similar experience in that I experienced judgement and 'the gates of hell.'

Some may ask why me? IDK. the only thing I can recon it to is how Paul persecuted Christians in what he thought was service to God. I persecuted christians/hated God because I grew up having to experience one horror after another after another and convinced myself there could not be a loving God. around, and if there were I sought to spit in his eye for allowing such things to happen to me. and since I could not find him I took my anger out on his followers as a teen. In a sense I was earnestly seeking God with all the tools I had at my disposal.

For me this meant beating up christians and trying to break their faith by asking questions I knew they could not answer. I posted most of this word for word here about 12 years ago.

So one night I went to bed, and stopped breathing and next thing I knew I was at my judgement..
I saw a being and immediately fell flat on the ground before Him and he told me not to be afraid and to rise and follow him. I did, to a line of people.(not a long line maybe 10) I saw Jesus welcoming people by name, and again I fell flat on the ground, and my life's events started to recount in my Head. (Before He even got to me)

When He told my neighbor Welcome my good and faithful servant, I knew right then, that was a close as I would ever come to hearing those words spoken to me, then the shame/deep despair begin to sink in. All of scripture made sense, and I knew then my life did not measure up to the standards of being a member of the body. I was helped up and for the briefest of moments I saw in His eyes a glimmer, of what of an eternity of Love with Him could have been, then I saw heart break and disappointment, Then I heard "away from me you wicked servant, I never knew you.."

My heart dropped, Then I pleaded: Lord lord give me one more chance..I fell to His feet and clinched as tightly as I could. swearing allegiance and love. I just needed another chance to prove it.

then either the ground gave way or I was thrown into the pit. I just remember falling into a black nothingness, as I traveled away from the light I felt myself being consumed by this Black almost like Hot tar. It was not fire but it invoked the same response as being burned. The panic and hysteria of being consumed lit every nerve ending as if it was being burned by the hottest flame. I could see nothing but heard a great yelling and many many groans of pain from every direction, But only barely because of my own groans, and screams. (Through all of that I had a sense that these laments were not all human.) All the while falling and being in a great state of panic and pain. Fire, panic and pain are not even strong enough words to describe the intensity of the experience.

That's why when i talk to people about Hell I say the reason the bible uses fire to describe hell it is because Being consumed by fire is the closest thing we can relate to when we are thrown into the void of Hell. Even so fire doesn't even come close. If given the choice I would rather be burned for an eternity by what we know to be fire than experience "Hell fire" ever again. This dread is still seared into my mind today.

As the last glimmer of the light was fading The reality of eternity began to set in and all hope quickly faded away. I saw the next step of my journey, and that was in the face of increasing despair, the luxury of the control we have over minds, was soon to be taken from me as well... But even in all of that I felt like I was rightfully placed there, but the worm that never dies would be the question of what if... what if I had only known better..

It was then I felt a hand grab me, and I began to ascend. the being that pulled me out of the pit told me that this was Only Gates of Hell and what I experiences was only a glimmer of what was to come. He told me that the rest of "this life" was my second Chance that I had asked for, and warned me that all that I experienced awaits me, if I did not know Jesus.

When I awoke I had sweat an outline of my entire body into my mattress and through my comforter.

The experience of Hell didn't change my life, the glimmer of an eternity with the one I love with all of my being did. I realized then that Hell is not an incentive for Heaven. Hell is simply the absents of God and all that He created. Being members of Creation We literally burn with desire to be apart of it and with God. till all that we are is consumed by hell fire. that out tiny fragile minds can't stand on it's own under such torment without God keeping us together. I later found out and discovered scripturally that we humans are not slated to burn in Hell forever. as no where in the bible does it say Human souls are meant to burn forever. The bible says Hell is forever, the torment is forever, and it is meant for Satan and his inner circle. When ever Hell and humanity/our souls are ever mention together it is described as our second death, out destruction or we being consumed. even the hebrew word limits itself to the grave. Hell is our destruction, it is satan's eternal torment not his kingdom. we get that from greek and roman myths not the bible.

This is what prompts me to ask people, If the descriptions of Heaven and Hell were somehow confused in the Past, and Heaven was a fiery pit (But God lived there.) And Hell was what we know to be Paradise, but God was absent, then would you still want to goto Heaven (The Fiery pit) and burn forever with God?

Those who seek Heaven as their just reward or Choose Heaven because they fear Hell don't understand what Heaven is.

Heaven is being with God no matter what it looks like.

Again no idea what his 23 mins in hell was like. I'm sure it is a big place. This dream I know it was a dream because I started in bed and woke up in bed although wetter, plays out more distinctly than any memory ever could.

I agree totally, we don't need other people to tell us their versions of something that God has already warned us about.

The Bible is sufficient for all we need to know.

As is God.

If they try to make money off it, it isn't legit. That's an easy litmus test that will usually steer you right. I've heard testimonies of dreams the person did not feel the need to write a book about and sell to folks. This, I would bet, is a fake dream, since they try to charge for the "story". That is not what the Bible says.

Last night, the church that I attend had a guest speaker. His name was Bill Weise, and he seemed pretty convincing. However, I was still left with mix feelings. I heard him cite well known sources such as Strong's concordance and Matthew Henry, along with some reasonable sounding scripture verses. Do you believe this man's story coincides with scripture? Or is he phony? The only things that I can currently agree with is just simply the concept of not keeping the topic of hell so taboo, considering it's a real place. I feel that Christians tend to preach the "Jesus loves you" side so much that people end up reading about the suffering and the tragedy in the bible making it feel exaggerated rather than there being that balance of truths, or sides of the story. I'm rather new to scripture. I've started the new testament 3-4 months ago and finished it and read the 9 books out of the old, and a glance at a few other books. I'm not that strong in scripture, so I'm trying, and that's why I look to other sources for truth.

Here is one article I found claiming the man is a fraud:

__________________✟✞✟__________________
I listened to his testimony online a few years back. Didn't seem to contradict scripture, I mean I do agree there is such a place as Hell just like I believe there's such a place as Heaven. At the end of the day does it matter if his account is true or not if it's just pointing out the existence of something the Bible already states exists?

if hell is as big as texas, there is room enough for multiple accounts or experiences of it and it not mean two different accounts are lying because they are different.

I just wanted to add some topics I thought might help with this discussion. The Lord gave me these insights based on personal experience. I would have never imagined these would be helpful. I do not know if any of you have ever studied foreign languages. One thing you quickly come to understand about any language is that when you convert anything from one language to another you can "gain" alot of meaning and "lose" alot of meaning in some parts. For example, this article can briefly hammer this home with Japanese to English and English to Japanese via terms that have no direct equivalent to English.

15 Japanese Words That Don’t Exist in English

So with that in mind, what could be lost and gained if we go play with the Bible using the biblical languages they originally came from? The bible was originally part "Greek" and part "biblical Hebrew" concerning the old testament and new testament. Reading about the long history of the bible teaches us this. So do not hesitate to break open the concordances for both these languages and look up terms because you would be shocked to know how much more expanded the bible becomes when you expand specific terms to consider ever elusive topics. For example did anyone know the original word for "mark" can include alot more to the translation than one might first consider on a uninformed initial first inspection? Look up Strong's 5480 if your curious.

Biblical Hebrew - Wikipedia
Greek language - Wikipedia

Biblehub
Strong's Hebrew: 1. אָב (ab) -- father
Englishman's Greek Concordance

The other major topic I want to bring to consideration comes from Ezekiel Chapter 33. It heavily discusses "watchmen" and once we allow the word to reside inside of us we are to visualize and listen for things that are not in standard with the word ( be watchers on the wall ). For example, GOD's rainbow has 7 colors based on science. But will see some go out of their way to mess with GOD's work. like say the LGBT group's flag. it has six colors instead of seven for those that do not know!

The same issue can be raised again going back to knowing biblical hebrew and for those that do not know Monster energy drinks are the number because that symbol is the number six and there are three of them clearly denoted on the can.

Right here is what is needed to understand this.

And here is your Holy Bible citations to ensure you can't say this isn't related to study to being a good Christian follower. Oh on the contrary. Everything is the bible. history, language, science, and so much more.

Book of Hosea KJV
4:6 - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Book of Ezekiel KJV
read the whole chapter 33.

Proverbs 25:2 KJV
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Ephesians 6:12 KJV
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ephesians 5:11 KJV
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Matthew 10:16 KJV
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Matthew 15:14 KJV
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Matthew 23:27 KJV
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

( you can know His word and not embody it ) ( beware! Actors are everywhere. )

James 1:22 KJV
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

With the story of the rich man ans Lazarus we get a picture from Jesus of Sheol (the place of the dead) with two parts. The rich man was in torment and Lazarus was comforted with Abraham.

In the Greek Sheol is called Hades. There are references in the bible from which we can learn that in Hades people can see and recognize each other. This place is more of a holding area as final judgement will only happen at the Great White Throne (Rev 20:11).

Some consider that Jesus took those out of the place of rest in Sheol/Hades when he "took captivity captive". this leaves only the unsaved in Hades now. One reason is the verse that says "absent from the body, present with the Lord" which is taken to mean that Christians go to be with Jesus right when they die.

Regarding your speaker, you may wish to consider the following. People who get paid to give presentations often approximate theater as their income tends to track their performance. Cognitive dissonance often leads to a sincerity indistinguishable from truth.
