Christs says know one but the father will know the time the end is happening. Here is a big clue on the end times...the rapture many religious scholars say it is the first sign of the end time. And if its not it is one of the first sighs and in the day and age there is know way it would be unnoticed. Instead of focusing on when the earth will end it could be in a billion year...focus on bettering the earth and humanity. Everyone is so obsessed about the end that there not here for the present. Honestly I do not think the end has to happen. The end happens because of mans idiocy. We are at a point in history were mankind could end poverty, disease, war. We searching the stars. The world of star trek is not that far off...technology is moving that fast. I have heard more than one say that they do care about the environment or the future cause they will not be there. I care about the future of my kids, grandkids, great grandkids and there kids and so on. Yes we all are gonna die but our children and there children will go on. What you do or don't do does affect others

The end will come because God has assigned a "use-by" date to the earth. Every generation of Christians believes it is the last. Those who are born again have an in built desire for heaven. This earth is not our home. But we have to live here for now, so we may as well make the best of it.

The difference now is that humans have created weapons that can terminate the human race, which is the first time in history. If there is a nuclear war, the world will long for the good old days of global warming. Nuclear winter is far worse than climate change.

We have nuclear armed despots, Muslims who itch to destroy Israel including Iran who is desperate to be known as the nation that destroyed Israel. Don't kid yourself, they aim to get nuclear weapons. Will they use them? Christians better be praying that they do not. We have nuclear armed India and Pakistan. The bomb has not been dropped in war since 1945. That's a good thing.

I don't know what it would take for the restrain to lift. Nuclear war has been close at times. So far so good.

Hi the rapture happens before the tribulation and that is a sign for sure. The rapture does not happen until all the other factors that are clearly detailed in scripture are lined up. One of those signs is the moral standards of man has plummeted to the degree that it is likened to the days of Noah and the days of Lot. Now this notes that when these days come upon the earth man will be deserving this series of judgments. Another factor is Israel has to be a nations again and a 3rd temple must come into existence. There also is a measure that false doctrine and teachers in the church would be prevalent. Another key component would be the rise of a final one world government for the anitchrist to eventually head it. Now Jesus warned clearly that great deception would come into play too.

So lets get to the environment. We are seeing man made carbon being forwarded as a cause that needs a global government to combat. The weather is a unifying force that effects us all. Now I am an environmentalist and believe in clean air, water and all. But I deny man made carbon is driving the weather and see this as vehicle to bring on the very one world government we are told will be in place. The great reset is a plan being orchestrated by the world economic forum and right now they are through treaties and soon to be executive orders merging the nations into the UN objectives. These days are upon us and the main thing is to be living in faith and fighting the good fight. The LORD says he will destroy those who destroyed the earth and that is not good news for earth. The LORD also will heal the planet when he comes and is king over all the earth. I see you are reading the Washington Post and I can tell you most News media is against Biblical values and is openly promoting globalism and pushing towards that one world government i mentioned will be in place for the time of the tribulation.

A comet or asteroid impact in the Gulf of Mexico 65 million years ago caused the extinction of most of the dinosaur species as the temperature of the globe cooled.

There are black holes, asteroids and exploding stars that might threaten. Mars used to have rivers, now it is desert. A star like the sun might eventually expand and become a red giant incinerating the earth.

I am in my 60’s. My body is deteriorating little by little. My life here is temporary. I can also see this world I live in is not unbreakable.

God is omnipotent and can do miracles. In 2 Peter there is a prediction about God forming a new heaven and earth as this world is destroyed by intense heat.

Like i said everybody is focused on the negative...not thought on the life span of human being over double what it was 200 years ago. NO talk on almost every disease cured, or controlled, even the worst cancers are curable or treatable if caught early. The value of a human beings life is more now than a few hundred years ago. There is so much good and all you guys can focus on is the negative. Tell me something if 6 mile wide asteroid hits the earth next year...it would wipe out humanity no doubt. So tell me if that happened and it has happened before but if it happens in our lifetime...were does the bible go...if an asteroid hits us the bible is gonna be obsolete. Something we might consider...the writers of the bible believed in magic, that the world was flat, that monsters really existed, diseases were caused by evil spirts all of this which has been proven false. The point is the bible was written by a bunch of superstitious people who nothing about science, biology, geology, and astronomy. The sea monsters they feared were whales. The flat earth is not flat, magic is not real, diseases are caused by germs and filth. I can believe in Christ and say that much of the bible has debunked, that it contradicts itself. That it has been edited hundreds of times...books have been added and removed...nearly everything that was believe by biblical people of that time was wrong. Everyone focuses on the negative...on the end...none of you are focused on the now.

I wouldn’t use the Washington Post as a guide to Eschatology.

Kind of funny, the article was written like the week of the lockdown 3/17/20.
For some people not being able to leave their houses for a while was "the end of the world"

25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

That always sounded to me like a meteor strike to the ocean...
(maybe one that we detect coming in advance but aren't able to stop
but have a good idea of what it's going to do when it arrives)

Revelation 8:10-11 sounds like a meteor to me, too.

Revelation 8:10-11 sounds like a meteor to me, too.

Yeah really, all 4 of the first 4 trumpets could be fulfilled by astrological calamities pretty easy, at any time. 5 and 6 I have no idea, though "A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke, and sulfur that proceeded from their mouths"

...
kinda matches modern firearms a bit.

I wonder, if a 1st century prophet has a vision of a 21st century tank... (or something not unlike it)

19 For the power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; indeed, their tails were like snakes, having heads with which to inflict harm.

Is he looking at it backwards...?

The back of the turret does look a little bit like a googly-eye in this shot.

And thinking that the turret is it's "tail"...? Not outside the realm of probability. Especially since they can rotate turret 360 degrees. And the "plague of smoke".

A 1st century prophet has never seen an explosion before, I don't think? If he is seeing something like Abrams shelling "from their tails" and explosions of "smoke", both from the tail and where the shell lands...

I’m kind of in a phase right now where I’m definitely entertaining the thought that much of Revelation was fulfilled in 70 AD. I’ve seen writer after writer try to cram so much of Revelation into headlines, and it never works. I do think, though, that there is a spiritual dimension which has yet to be fulfilled; dealing with apostasy, a spiritual war, and a final, wonderful triumph of the Church, and the reunification of all Christians. That is what I hope.

If you chart the increase in lifespan and consider the growth in Health technology, it may be that within 20 years we will increase our lifespan by 1 additional year. If this increase happens each year this might push out our lifespan indefinably.

So, there's that.

Christs says know one but the father will know the time the end is happening.

No... Jesus didn't in fact say that, He said, and I quote:

But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Mark 13:32

And also in Acts of the Apostles 1:7

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority."

This means, specifically, that anyone who makes claims like "Jesus will return on September 28th 2022" is telling a lie that is directly disputed by Scripture.

However, if someone says "Its beginning to look like Jesus will return soon" and base their thinking on Scriptural signs that seem to bear that out, then they are not lying, not saying anything wrong. They may be incorrect in their assessment, but they aren't making unScriptural claims. Jesus did give us signs that would precede His second coming.

focus on bettering the earth and humanity

Actually I disagree as we as Christians aren't commanded to "better humanity". We are commanded to live out our faith in Christ, and spread the Gospel of Salvation to the lost.

That actually would better humanity if we actually did it, but the "betterment of humanity" isn't the specific work we are called to be doing.

I care about the future of my kids, grandkids, great grandkids

I care about mine too... I don't think anyone doesn't care at all what kind of a world we are leaving behind when we go....

We just have a different idea of how to accomplish that. I personally find it best accomplished by the work our Father and His Son gave us to do..
