He even knows the number of hairs on your head. Consider your current situation an invitation to know Him. He does hear you and all who call upon His name. Those who pray to other gods are most likely not heard. Be blessed. Will my prayers be unheard if I am not a Christian? If I call upon the name of the Lord Jesus, in response to a tragic event that is happening, will my prayers be unheard?
That's an interesting question. I have family members who aren't believers and even have their "religion" on FB set to "I believe in myself" and yet every time something happens (both petty and serious) they're on FB asking for prayersWill my prayers be unheard if I am not a Christian? If I call upon the name of the Lord Jesus, in response to a tragic event that is happening, will my prayers be unheard?
That's not true!
Precisely. We come to our Lord as broken sinful human beings. The first step is to recognize He exists and by directing prayers to the Christian God He most certainly will listen.Hmmm, yes. I didn't know what to make of that statement you refer to, and waited to get more clarity. I know the Lord quite well, and He wouldn't ignore folks who plead for help. Like I posted before about what happened to me at age 5. Just think about it for a moment, how the heck are folks supposed to come to Christ otherwise? None of us were believers straight out of the womb...
That's not true!
Consider the OP'er does believe. Afterall they came to God and not to Mickey Mouse.its very true.
You people all seem to suffer from easy believism. God isnt sitting around just waiting for an excuse to work a miracle. If a person isnt a believer, and they ask for help, He isnt going to respond.

God will answer prayers even from unbelievers if it suits his purpose. People sometimes don't know who God is but pray hoping that someone will help them and this can be a pathway to salvation for sure. We also have believers praying for others who aren't believers for help and healing. If someone is a believer I think their prayers have more favor with God as the Bible says the prayers of a righteous main availeth much. I think if it profits God to answer the prayers of an unbeliever he may do so, even prayers of evil people he may answer so that when judgment comes upon them he will have that to be used against them that even though they rejected him he still showed love for them in their time of need.
To put it simply God listens to everything because we will all be judged by everything we say, think, and do believer or not.
Beyond our imagination for sure. There is (with God) always exceptions to the "rule" but if we want the best chances of getting prayers answered best to believe in the one that would answer them.Well said. He is far greater than we give Him credit for.

Except for repentance and salvation, I am curious as to why an unbeliever would pray to a being they do not believe exists. Will my prayers be unheard if I am not a Christian? If I call upon the name of the Lord Jesus, in response to a tragic event that is happening, will my prayers be unheard?
They are hoping they are wrong and in desperation people do things they normally wouldn't even think of doing.Except for repentance and salvation, I am curious as to why an unbeliever would pray to a being they do not believe exists.

While I don't know of every possible situation/person, I do know that He will certainty listen to someone in humbleness seeking Him with "all of your heart", and taking a real leap of faith to pray (for real, for a moment), actually taking to risk to believe and pray to Him. For me, back then, that felt like....like standing on a cliff edge in a way, with the wind blowing around you. To take the risk to pray to God you might (if you are like me back then) be stepping towards a new situation/new reality. It's a kind of high risk moment in a way. Daring to risk leaving behind part of what I had been, because God's way could mean letting go of some old familiar things for better things, and change feels risky. Will my prayers be unheard if I am not a Christian? If I call upon the name of the Lord Jesus, in response to a tragic event that is happening, will my prayers be unheard?
If that is the case, I don't see why God wouldn't hear the prayer of a person asking God to help them come to a saving faith even if they have doubt. They are hoping they are wrong and in desperation people do things they normally wouldn't even think of doing.
So perhaps a prayer saying, "God, if you exist, I am asking you to reveal yourself to me. Help me believe."I can see how that could be. The OP identified as a seeker so may well believe there is a possibility that the being in question does exist but has not come to the place where the OP could say so with the conviction of a believer. Unlike what many people seem to think there is a very distinct difference between an unbeliever and a denier. A denier is someone that rejects the idea that something is, or was, or might be so. An unbeliever is someone that has not yet found or been shown convincing evidence.
