Don’t strain to keep your marriage: rest in what Jesus is in you and certainly everything will be fine (Psalms 37.7).
This sounds antic, I know. However, consider the promise of the Creator:
• “And the LORD God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an associated helper for him.” (Genesis 2.18).
Nonetheless, people indurate in relation to the condition so that the promise can be fulfilled:
• “Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” (Jeremiah 17.7,8).
For you understand this, let’s suppose that, when the Eternal created Adam, each tree off the Eden’s garden was of one specie and give one kind of fruit, and that each tree was one woman (don’t consider queer this illustration: we can see this in Songs of Solomon). Let’s suppose that Adam was created to like only one kind of fruit (for example, mango).
When Adam was moseying in the garden, certainly he will feel the smell of the guavas of the guava tree. Nonetheless, for more than these guavas smelled ambrosial, he wouldn’t be engrossed by these, inasmuch as his taste is for mangos. After he would pass through fig tree, pomegranate tree, orange tree, and so on, but no matter how these trees tried to catch the attention of Adam, all effort would be in vain.
Finally, when he would get in touch with the mango tree, naturally he would be attracted by this tree, especially done for him. The mango tree didn’t need to do anything to keep Adam close to her. It would be sufficing she keep in touch with the river of living water and she, naturally, would yield exact what Adam pleased and needed. If she didn’t refuse to give her fruits, Adam would rejoice totally in his tree, without necessity to feed from others tree to get sated, inasmuch as:
• “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden you may freely eat:” (Genesis 2.16).
• “Blessed is every one that fears the LORD; that walks in his ways. Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of your house: your children like olive plants round about your table.” (Psalms 128.1,3).
That is to say, he would find in his tree all that he needed.
I can imagine what you can be thinking: but the promise says that the tree will produce its fruit only in its season:
• “Blessed is the man that … his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.” (Psalms 1.1-3).
And when the mango tree wasn’t in her season? Would Adam need to feed from other trees?
