The infamous "N" word is the most blatant example.

When used from black to black person - not racist
When used from and other race to black person - racist with violent reactions.
Bad example. The very fact you can’t even write out the word without getting a knock from mods here tells the word is an obvious insult and clearly racist whereas ‘boy’ is not.

See how I can write boy and not get in trouble? That’s because boy isn’t a racist word.

Cool.

And in this context, you are incorrect.
Then I have to wonder what schools do when they have to mention anything about a black kid. Do they avoid the word boy altogether in that case?

Thanks for making my point better than I could have made it. Read the text or watch the video. He never said the Nazi flag carrying folks were good people. That is unless you think only Nazis were against removal of the statue.
Nazis, confederate sympathizers. It’s all the same racist nonsense to me.

Wonder away all you want. That is not the context in question, though. So have fun playing with your strawmen.

Is it considered racist when used between members of the black race?

Why is it insulting if a white person uses the term, but not a black person?

Same reason why calling someone your "boy" is racist between a white and black person.

I’m having a great time watching y’all try turn the benign word boy into the new N word. This will surely be Biden’s downfall.

Yes. The N word is a racist word with a well known racist history behind it that is understood by just about everyone. There’s even a big push within the black community to discourage themselves from using it against each other for that very reason.

Why is it insulting if a white person uses the term, but not a black person?
It’s insulting no matter who uses the term. That some people are allowed to get away with it doesn’t change the very obvious meaning of the term. There’s no instance where you can casually use the word in conversation and not come across like an ignorant racist jerk.

You can’t say the same about the word boy.

Same reason why calling someone your "boy" is racist between a white and black person.
Right. That’s why you often hear so much about people being canceled for using the word boy, right?

Calling someone "your boy", calling someone "a boy from....", and referring to someone as "Boy" are different things. People that do not understand nuance, language and context fail to comprehend this.

I could link hundreds of sources, (that would get me banned), from the black community where the term is used liberally by blacks with blacks. There are thousands of instances in conversations where it is used casually, sometimes in terms of affection.

Perhaps it is because of a limited experience with blacks on your part, but I can tell you first hand referring to each other as "my 'n'" is very common in the community where I am from.

I'm not even white, but if I use that same term I will end up in the Emergency room or morgue.

If you can prove it, I’ll go along with it. I can prove that Biden has said racist things.
It's been proven but you don't accept it - there are entire threads about it. You always give it a pass by refusing to accept the evidence. As for Biden, whether he has said racist things in the past or not has no bearing on whether this particular comment is racist, and it isn't.

Right, I don’t disagree with any of that. I disagree with the contention in this thread that the word boy carries the same connotation.

It doesn’t.

You mean like the hypocrisy of the OP of this thread where conservatives are outraged over supposed racism that they themselves are guilty of the rest of the time while denying racism een exists?.

No, the denying racism exists is pretty much a left wing phenomenon.

Same here. But his comment wasn’t about them. It was about people on both sides of the statue argument. It’s obvious that you’ve just bought the lie about what he said, and never actually read it or heard it.

The use of "boy" here is not racist. Every utterance of boy when referring to a Black man is not racist. Some are, some are not. This is an example of one that is not.

If you can explain why the usage here is racist, please do explain.
Because of his history of racist comments.

Here’s your chance.

Evidence for widespread systemic racism.

I don’t want to derail this thread, so I’ve created one where you can present the evidence.

Just so I understand, if Biden had said to his advisor, “Come here, boy”, that would be perfectly acceptable and nobody would be in an uproar?

No that wouldn’t sound right.

Is that how he said it?
