Case closed. They're true.
What case is closed? You did not make one. Neither did you provide any scripture or told anyone what you disagreed with in post # 631 that shows from the scriptures that the only day Jesus claims to be the Lord of is the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:8) and the only day God claims ownership over is the Sabbath day (see Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 31:12-18; Leviticus 19:30; Ezekiel 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:15; Leviticus 23:3; Exodus 31:15; Exodus 20:10) which is the meaning of "the Lords day" from Revelation 1:10.

And yet here you are not even able to show me what it is in that you disagree with in the post and scriptures shared with you after I asked you what you disagree with? Our only authority according to the scriptures is Christ and His Word which we are sanctified by (John 17:17) not the authority of men that disagree with the teachings of the bible. This is shown very clearly in Acts of the Apostles 5:29.
Pot, meet kettle. You cannot prove your stance Scripturally, either.

Well that is not true. Please see the scriptures provided in post # 623 linked that disagrees with your claims here. As posted earlier, if you disagree with the scriptures that have been posted in the linked post please show why you disagree from the scriptures. If you cannot show what you disagree with from the scriptures then why are you making claims here that are not true?

Neither did you.
Sorry I respectfully disagree and have provided scripture showing why I believe that "the Lord's day" from Revelation 1:10 is the Sabbath day. Please see post # 623 linked. If you disagree you are free to show why you disagree with the scriptures provided in the linked post that prove the only day Jesus claims to be the Lord of is the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:8) and the only day God claims ownership over in the bible is the Sabbath day (see Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 31:12-18; Leviticus 19:30; Ezekiel 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:15; Leviticus 23:3; Exodus 31:15; Exodus 20:10) which is the meaning of "the Lords day" from Revelation 1:10. On the other hand, as shared with you earlier Jesse, there is no scripture that says "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10 is Sunday or the first day of the week. This is a man-made teaching and tradition of some in the early Church only found outside of the scriptures that is not supported anywhere in the bible. As shown above according to the scriptures as shown above "the Lord's day" or the day that Jesus claims to be Lord of and claims ownership of is the Sabbath day. The question then we should all be considering, who do we believe and follow; God or the teachings and traditions of men that have led many to break the commandments of God?

Saying you disagree...obviously, you do. But you're wrong, and you can't prove you're right. On the other hand, I have the faith of 2000 years to fall on, and I always will, whether you agree or not doesn't matter. We know who Jesus gave authority to, and you join those in John 6 who chose to walk away. So be it.

According to the scriptures as shown throughout this thread there is no scripture that supports the man-made teaching and tradition that Sunday is "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10 (see the scriptures provided in post # 623 linked). Jesus says those who knowingly do this are not worshiping God in Matthew 15:3-9. We should not put our faith in the teachings and traditions of men that lead others to break the commandments of God over the Word of God and the very words of Jesus now should we?

Something to pray about.

Done prayed about it when I came into the Church. There is nothing against Sacred Tradition in the Bible. In fact, the Bible IS Sacred Tradition. So is most Christian doctrine. Your knowledge of Scripture is part of your tradition. Your interpretation isn't consistent with 2000 years of Church history.

Jesse, there is nothing wrong with sacred tradition if it is supported by the scriptures as it is the scriptures or the Word of God that makes it sacred. Therefore man-made teachings and traditions unsupported by the scriptures is not sacred as it is simply man made and unsupported by scripture. Where scripture says the teachings and traditions of men are wrong and not sacred is when they are not supported by the scriptures and lead others away from God and His Word to break the commandments of God and disobey His Word. See Matthew 15:3-9; Romans 3:4; Acts of the Apostles 5:29; 2 Timothy 3:16. Let's be honest here Jesse, there is no scripture that supports the claim of some in the early Church that "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10 is Sunday or the first day of the week. Yet many try to justify Sunday keeping claiming it is "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10 when there is no scripture that supports this man-made teaching and tradition which is used to justify Sunday worship of the resurrection in place of God's 4th commandment "seventh day Sabbath" of God's 10 commandments which is one of God's 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4. This is a man-made teaching and tradition of the mother Church handed down to most of Christianity today that is not supported in the scriptures and is not biblical leading many to break the commandments of God going against the direct warning of Jesus in Matthew 15:3-9. So the test coming to all of us is who should we believe and follow; God or man?

As posted earlier we already know what the teachings and traditions of some in the early Church were in regards to their claims that "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10 is Sunday or the first day of the week. The purpose of this OP is to examine if these claims are true or not true according to the scriptures and if they are supported in the scriptures and if these teachings are biblical or not biblical.

Is meeting on the first day of the week wicked, as SDA often imply?

Joh_20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Act_20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

1Co_16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

We also have numerous Early Church Fathers that lived before the Council of Nicaea who agree that the early Church did not observe the 4th commandment, which was the "sign" of the Sinai Covenant.

The Apostles also often met with the Jews in the synagogues to preach Christ, because that was the day the Jews were gathered together.

Is meeting on the first day of the week wicked, as SDA often imply?
According to the scriptures, meeting on any day of the week has never been the issue and no one has ever said it is the issue. So implying that people are telling you that meeting on a certain day of the week is wicked is not being truthful and simply a distraction from the discussion of the OP. The OP is seeking to examine the claims of some in the early Church that "the Lords day" is Sunday or the first day of the week is biblical and supported in the scriptures or not. The issue has never been over what day we meet on as the early disciples according to Acts of the Apostles 2:47-48 met every day of the week. The issue according to the scriptures and the very words of Jesus in Matthew 15:3-9 is over following man-made teachings and traditions that break the commandments of God. It is breaking Gods commandments therefore that have always been the issue and that is the problem not what day we meet together.

According to the scriptures, God's people met everyday of the week and of course the first day was just another day of the week they met one according to the scriptures.

Acts of the Apostles 2:47-48 [46], And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, [47], Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Of course the disciples meeting every day of the week does not make every day a holy day or is it a command to keep every day of the week as a holy day. Neither does it say every day of the week is the Lords day of Revelation 1:10. What scriptures did you provide that say the first day of the week is now "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10? What scripture did you provide that says Sunday or the first day of the week is now a holy day that we are now commanded to keep as a memorial of the resurrection? What scripture did you provide that say that God's 4th commandment has now been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday or the first day of the week as "the Lords day" or as a holy day as a memorial of the resurrection? - The answer is none. I see you have not provided a single scripture to support the man-made teaching and tradition of some in the early Church that Sunday or the first day of the week is "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10.
We also have numerous Early Church Fathers that lived before the Council of Nicaea who agree that the early Church did not observe the 4th commandment, which was the "sign" of the Sinai Covenant.
Well that statement has no truth in it at all. You should read up on the differences between the Church of the east and the Roman Church (West). God's people have always kept God's 4th commandment seventh day" Sabbath unbroken since the days of Jesus and the Apostles and early disciples to this very present day (see evidence provided in post 44 linked).

So what scriptures did you provide that supports the man-made teaching and tradition of some in the early Church that Sunday or the first day of the week is "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10? - Nothing. Not a single scripture.

Take Care.

According to the scriptures Jesse there is only one standard of what is true and what is not true and that is the Word of God *Romans 3:4. We already know what the teachings and traditions of some in the early Church were in regards to their claims that "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10 is Sunday or the first day of the week. The purpose of this OP is to examine if these claims are true or not true and if they are supported in the scriptures and if these teachings are biblical or not. You have been shown from the biblical interpretation of the Greek from Revelation 1:10 that τῇ κυριακῇ ἡμέρᾳ translated as "the Lords day" means (1) the Lords ownership of the day. According to the scriptures alone Jesus claims he is (2) Lord of the Sabbath day because he is the creator of it *Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:28; Luke 6:5; John 1:1-4; 14; Colossians 1:16; Genesis 2:1-3 and Jesus and God (3) claim ownership of the Sabbath day in Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 31:12-18; Leviticus 19:30; Ezekiel 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:15; Leviticus 23:3; Exodus 31:15; Exodus 20:10. All of the above scriptures are evidence that agree to the interpretation provided from the scriptures alone in Revelation 1:10 that the day the Lord claims ownership over is the Sabbath day. Are you trying to say that Jesus does not claim to be Lord of the Sabbath day when he says in Matthew 12:8 that he is Lord of the Sabbath day claiming authority over the Sabbath and that He does now claim ownership of the Sabbath day when he calls it My holy day which is the meaning of the original Greek of Revelation 1:10 τῇ κυριακῇ ἡμέρᾳ translated as "the Lords day" or the Lords ownership of the day?"

................

On the other hand, there is no scripture that says "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10 is Sunday or the first day of the week. The question then we should all be considering, who do we believe and follow; God or the teachings and traditions of men that have led many to break the commandments of God?

.................

Now what is it that you do not agree with here and why? (Scripture please).
Now, see? There's your problem. You think Sacred Scripture is THE (exclusive) Word of God, whereas Scripture itself says no such thing. St. Paul tells Timothy "Hold fast to the traditions I have taught you."
And you talk about Scripture alone, yet nowhere is Scripture alone a precept of Jesus.
Then you say "You have been shown from the biblical interpretation of the Greek from Revelation 1:10 that τῇ κυριακῇ ἡμέρᾳ translated as "the Lords day" means (1) the Lords ownership of the day." This is not Scriptural proof that the Lord's Day means "the Lord's ownership of the day." In fact, I went to several concordances where that phrase has several meanings (as I pointed out), and specific to Rev 1:10, they all say it's the Lord's Day, Sunday.
So there's no Scripture that says the Lord's Day is Sunday, but it doesn't say it's Saturday, either. What, about my disagreement (and that of 90% of Christians), don't you understand? Your concordance is out of whack.

So this all boils down to "Did Jesus leave us a rule of faith?" And, of course, he did. In Matthew 28, Jesus tells us "Go out to all the world and teach what I have taught you." (Oral teaching) "And I will be with you until the end of the age." He told this to his apostles. (And they believed they had to pass it down to those they appointed, because almost immediately, they appointed Matthias to replace Judas.) Jesus also told the apostles "Who hears you hears me" and "Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven." and "I will send the Paraclete to guide you into all Truth." All of these spoken to the apostles. Then the apostles went out and taught the world, and removed the burden of Judaic law from the Gentiles. And worshiped Jesus on Sunday. According to ever concordance you use, it is Sunday. Sunday. Sunday.
And again, the Sabbath was provided by God to be a day of rest, not a day of worship. Worship involves sacrifice, the sacrifice done for the remission of sin by the priests in the temple. Every day.

According to Jesus it is vain to think we are worshiping God by following man-made teachings and traditions that break the commandments of God in Matthew 15:3-9. Therefore we can only worship God by believing and following what Gods' Word says as no one worships God by breaking anyone of Gods 10 commandments. On the Sabbath the God's people gathered together to worship God in the synagogue and the temple by reading the scriptures and praying to God which was the custom of Jesus and the Apostles *Luke 4:16; Acts of the Apostles 17:2; Acts of the Apostles 16:13. God's people will also continue worshiping God on the Sabbath in the new earth.

Isaiah 66:22-23 [22], For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, said the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. [23], And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, said the LORD.

According to God's 4th commandment Gods Sabbath is a memorial of creation and a celebration of God as the creator of heaven and earth *Exodus 20:8-11. Sadly God knew we would forget His Sabbath which is why he says "REMEMBER" the Sabbath day to keep it holy *Exodus 20:8 but most have forgotten His holy day that he commands us to keep holy in preference to the man-made teaching and tradition of Sunday worship in spite of not a single scripture in all of God's Word saying that Gods' 4th commandment has now been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday or the first day of the week as a holy day of rest.

In times of ignorance according to the scriptures God winks at but when he gives us a knowledge of the truth of His Word calls all men everywhere to believe and follow it *Acts of the Apostles 17:30-31.

"Fear God therefore and give glory to him for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." *Revelation 14:7-12

There is no problem as God's Word is the only rule of faith according to the scriptures. According to God's Word it is written All scripture (not some scripture) is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness in 2 Timothy 3:16 and once again in the very words of Jesus, Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. As it is written we are saved by Gods' grace through faith it is a gift of God and not of works lest any man should boast *Ephesians 2:8-9 and again this faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God *Romans 10:17. Therefore without faith that comes from the Word of God it is impossible to please God *Hebrews 11:6 because whatsoever is not of faith (believing and following what Gods' Word says) is sin *Romans 14:23. Faith in God's Word therefore is the very rule of faith and the very foundation of Gods' true Church and "the faith" comes from Gods' Word. According to the scriptures and the very words of Jesus problems arise when we follow man-made teachings and traditions that break the commandments of God because doing so we are not worshiping God *Matthew 15:3-9 and if we are not worshiping God it begs the question who then are we worshiping; God or man? Of course the application here is to the unbiblical claim of Sunday being "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10 and Sunday worship replacing God's 4th commandment of the 10 commandments that give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; James 2:10-11.

Take Care.

Do you understand the difference between the word "abolish", and the word "obsolete"?

Heb 8:13 In that He says, "A NEW COVENANT," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

My chainsaw has made my axe "obsolete", but my axe has not been "abolished".

First, it wasn't man-made teachings Jesus was against. Jesus was against the way the Pharisees enforced the teachings of God. But how do you know it's strictly man-made teachings? For example, when the apostles chose Matthias, your eyes see them drawing lots to choose a successor, yet the Scripture clearly says that the Holy Spirit guided them. Also, Jesus looked human, yet was/is God. So the Jews always thought "How can this MAN tell us these things?"
Secondly, on the Sabbath, the people of God did not gather to worship. They rested from work. Also, synagogue was not a place to worship, it was a place to learn. So they gathered to learn, as Jesus Himself proves when he reads the Prophet Isaiah in the synagogue. Not only that, they went to synagogue on Sabbath, weren't the teachers WORKING when they were teaching the people?
Again, we worship every day, as the priests did. Worship means sacrifice, necessarily.

Well, God's 4th commandment is to honor your father and mother. Be that as it may, the requirement of God was to rest on the Sabbath. They worshiped every day.

According to the God's Word it is written All scripture (not some scripture) is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness in 2 Timothy 3:16 and once again in the very words of Jesus, Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Take Care.
Where does Scripture say that it is the only rule of faith?

True we are in the new covenant now not the old covenant. Can you tell me what the new covenant is? (hint, look at the context of the scripture you provided *Hebrews 8:10-12 from Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:24-27). So where is the scripture that says "the Lords day" of Revelation 1:10 is Sunday? - There is none
