Hi guys,

I wanted to reach out to a group today for advice and in the class of following Jesus.

So many people know I’m recent months I’ve been helped tremendously by everyone’s support. But I recently came across idk if it’s a trial or attack. But it’s something that came up when I was in a peaceful moment.Basically it was this…

“Now that your at peace, you don’t need Jesus” and “Do you really want to follow Jesus?”
Now that I look at those I see them as potential lies from Satan. But I feel like whenever I’m at peace I’m pushing God away,I don’t want to feel like I don’t need him,I always need him,but then again I was worried that I’m simply following God for his help and salvation. Can anyone offer some advice as to wether this is a spiritual attack?

Yes, that is a lie. When one gets to "peace" or a comfortable place, that's when they become most vulnerable. They let their guard down which then invites the enemy to come in and deceive. This is what Jesus meant in Luke 11:24-26. This happens to me even. I will be in a bad place, God will deliver me, and then I stop focusing on God because I no longer need to and then, boom, I'm back in a bad place again. Keep your focus on God, keep your eyes on Him, ignore the stumbling blocks that the enemy places in your path. As long as you keep your eyes on God, you will never fall.

Welcome to CF! Our supplications are well recieved by our loving God. Maybe consider thanking Him while you are at peace.
Blessings.

You are at peace and ok because you are with Jesus, it wouldn't make sense to leave the One who is helping you because you are being helped.

If you leave Jesus your peace may leave too it sounds like a trap from the enemy to get you away from God where he wants you

There is nothing wrong with wanting to follow God for his salvation, and even assistance.

John 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

Any guilt you are experiencing on this issue is certainly an attack by Satan.

Just keep consistently praying, and seeking God.

Talk to God about it. You can well believe he'd love to hear from you.

Memorize that verse. Here is a sung version.

Like to use John 10:10 to determine-

Jesus said - "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

Can anyone offer some advice as to wether this is a spiritual attack?

Whether it's a spiritual attack or the flesh speaking, you must know it's surely a lie.

Scripture warns us about this. Then when we are at peace and He has blessed us and we have all we need, then we are at risk of forgetting Him or assuming our peace is because of ourselves. It's a very dangerous mindset to be in.

But as you know it's a lie, whether spiritual attack or of the flesh, either ignore the thoughts or correct them intentionally and those thoughts will eventually leave you.

Remember the times when you haven't been at peace and praise Him in thanksgiving that you are now at a time of peace. Then, when those peaceful times pass (as they inevitably will in this life), you will have a good relationship with Him and the trying times will be easier for you.

Peace

Follow Jesus out of your love for him and for no other reasons. We don't follow Jesus to "get something" .... we follow Him because we love Him and He Helps us through the Holy Spirit to overcome sin.

One can become "comfortable" (by way deception) in their sin ... that is indeed a lie from satan.

"You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

"You don't need Jesus" - deception

Keep walking with Jesus ;o)

Sounds like the flesh trying to control Godly stimuli. It's up to you how to respond to it.

He is indeed the only one who can help you ... and He will teach you to walk in His ways ... and His ways teach us about Love.

You can't fight yourself by yourself, making yourself better for God. That's not what God has said is the way to walk with Him. Wrestling with odd, evil thoughts or feelings, struggling against wicked desires, straining to reform yourself is the method of Self, of the "Old Man," not of the Holy Spirit. Your "job" as a Christian is to do one basic thing: submit. When the sort of peculiar thought you've described enters your mind, submit yourself to God's will and way. Let the Holy Spirit transform your thinking, shaping it according to what He wants, and dissolving these peculiar thoughts, and feelings, and urges. God changes you; you don't change yourself for Him.
