And I agree with you, that is why I specified addiction, instead of just smoking... smoking in and of itself may not be a sin, but for some, the addiction to it definitely makes it sin.

My husband is a Christian who smoked when I met him, but when his wife (he is a widower) asked him to stop he stopped without issue and didn't smoke again for 7 years. After she died he liked smoking, so he went back to it for the enjoyment.

I could never in a million years do that... as a matter of fact when I felt led by God to quit I told God He was asking the only thing that was impossible for me to give, because I couldn't quit even when I wanted to.

Quitting is still my miracle from God, as weird as it sounds. God did in me what was impossible in and of myself. In my weakness, He proved His strength.

My husband has stopped smoking again, but I'm sure when I die if he still lives he'll probably smoke again... lol. Still amazes me he can pick it up and put it down like it's nothing...

Thanks so much for sharing that.

It was a wonderful story from the heart. :)

I'm not having any trouble understanding what Sam, Mark and Jerry are saying, and I can put it in a nutshell like you have. But I can't quite figure out what you're saying and can't put it in a nutshell. Could you help me out with that?
It's quite simple really.
When Jesus suffered and died on the Cross He took from us the guilt, punishment and power of sin, and exchanged it for His righteousness.

He did not make us righteous. God declared us righteous. We are still sinners in ourselves because the presence of sin is still within us and will be there until the day we are gloried at the general resurrection on the last day.

Spurgeon was correct when he quoted, "I'm just a poor sinner and nothing at all, but Jesus Christ is my all in all." Martyn Lloyd-Jones said, "There is no such person as a good Christian. Only vile sinners saved by the grace of God."

But, we don't go on merrily sinning because we have been saved by God's grace. We are to show the fruits of repentance in our lives. But we can't do it by ourselves. But, we can trust Christ to do the work in us through the indwelling Holy Spirit. So, every one who is genuinely converted to Christ and filled with the Spirit will show the fruits of righteousness.

But there will always be our battle against sin, as Paul says, "The flesh wars against the Spirit". We will always have to keep short accounts with God through using 1 John 1:9, running to God's throne of grace when we fall off the wagon of holy living, which we will do regularly.

There was a person in one of these forums who announced that he had not sinned for the last 30 years. The problem with that person was that all he was showing was self-righteousness and pride which is a grievous sin in itself. This is the temptation we face when we think we are getting a measure of victory over our besetting sins.

According to the movie about his life, put out by Christian Films, he smoked cigars until he was told it wasn't a good look so he gave them up. The report that he smoked a pipe was not true.

He's lighting his pipe in my avatar.

Oscarr: "Martyn Lloyd-Jones said, "There is no such person as a good Christian. Only vile sinners saved by the grace of God."

Yes, and Gods testimony says, Jesus is the good Shepherd who has good or evil fruit ?

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Matthew 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Matthew 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Matthew 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

Matthew 13:48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

Matthew 25:21
His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Acts 11:24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

1 Timothy 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

1 Peter 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Titus 1:8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

3 John 1:12 Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.

"But there will always be our battle against sin, as Paul says, "The flesh wars against the Spirit". We will always have to keep short accounts with God through using 1 John 1:9, running to God's throne of grace when we fall off the wagon of holy living, which we will do regularly."

Using Galatians 5:14-24, before seeing (again) 1 John 1:9, the flesh lusts against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh.

Walking in the Spirit ( of Christ) and NO LUST OF THE FLESH IS FULFILLED.

We then FULFIL THE LAW INSTEAD IN ONE WORD, TO LOVE OUR NEIGHBOUR AS OURSELVES.

Now freed from being under the (weakness and non fulfilling of the law in ordinances) NOW IN FLESHY TABLES OF THE HEART.

If yo do those works of the flesh, you will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Because the fruits of the Spirit are instead, ( against and contrary to the ones still in the flesh/sin nature) are longsuffering, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance, this is the flesh crucified, as affections and lusts are gone..

Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

"There was a person in one of these forums who announced that he had not sinned for the last 30 years. The problem with that person was that all he was showing was self-righteousness and pride which is a grievous sin in itself. This is the temptation we face when we think we are getting a measure of victory over our besetting sins."

Christ has given us the victory, it is being born not of flesh, but of God, as the law was the strength of sin (weakness was in man) now we have power and strength from God ( no longer under weakness)..

1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Revelation 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

Jerry: "I did not ask you to confess your particulars in public, only to answer yes or no to a very simple and direct question: do you sin? Since you can't muster strength enough to answer yes or no, I assume it's either your pride preventing you or your guilt preventing you from doing so.

Here's my answer: I am a sinner, I sometimes sin, and I always confess my sin to my Lord who forgives me and cleanses me each and every time"

It is Gods word, to confess your faults to one another, requiring prayer to be healed.

If any errs from the truth, and he gets converted from that error, the sinner that is converted from the error of his way, then hides a multitude of sins ( as before conversion all the sins are still there they never were cleansed)

I did ask you to give example of your sins, ( if they are not too shameful( as it is indeed testified to us, that it is a shame to speak of what they do in SECRET.

Are you now ashamed of the sins you did/do, if you are, they lead to death as testified.

That is why I shared with you, how this is spoke to YOUR SHAME, so awake to righteousness and SIN NOT, as this is the KNOWLEDGE OF GOD ( yours Jerry is your own knowledge to sin, and is the error of the unconverted sinners ways)..

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Ephesians 5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
1 Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
Romans 6:21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

DaDaBrothers: "Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

They weren't naturally born vain nor with a darkened hearth, they became vain, and their foolish hearth was darkened. Because they worshipped the creature more than the Creator, God gave them up. There are multiple verses in Romans 1 where it says God gave them up to sin.
They've gone astray, they became fools. They weren't born fools, ok ? You can't become a fool if you already were, if you become a fool it means you weren't one, and then they became fools."

Notice in verse 18, that this wrath ( the judgement) of God is now revealed ( in the Gospel for us to believe in and therein, in the Gospel of Christ, the righteousness of God is also revealed for the just to now live by faith)

Now, all that may be known of God is fully revealed ( a bit like I m giving a last testimony for people on this forum, which counts as the typical world of Christians these fallen days, to me) showing everything to people, fully answering their deceiving, and the deceived too, and now they see the Godhead( Jesus Christ) they are left without excuse( remember you saw all they do is want to make some sort of excuse for the sin they allow themselves)

Then it is fully exampled, they are vain in these imaginations they hold, and instead of seeing light, they are all in darkened heart, by sticking to their favorite stumbling doctrine, this reveals them as fools, ( which they always were now it is just demonstrated) and they choose corruptible man( and corruption) as their god...

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

This is the testimony with purpose for ending the world, as warning is given, all is warned, and testified, ( including for me) we then are ready for that judgement day to all be judged of what we did and what we heard/believed)

They continue to insist they are cleansed of all unrighteousness, yet are given up to the uncleanness they return to, choosing the understanding of weakness and the flesh lusting against the spirit, as their excuse to themselves, that they are permitted to sin, even to do dishonour, which is them turning the truth of God into a lie ( the love of the truth to do love and not hatefulness 2 Thessalonians 2:10)..

Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

They reject the knowledge of Christ ( remember they do no longer endure sound doctrine is for now 2 Timothy 4:3)

So are filled with unrighteousness( not cleansed from all unrighteousness as no righteousness of the law is fulfilled in them Romans 8:4) only with envy and debate ( that is why I am on their debate forum) using their deceit, who are whisperers and backbiters, despiteful and proud, boasters instead of praying always to b accounted worthy to escape and stand before Christ Luke 21 34-36) as they invent all evil, own ideas and opinions ( not Gods word only but reject Gods word when shown) showing their disobedience, is their lack of understanding ( as a good understanding have all they who do His commandments and love edifies which they have not put on, as it is to put on Christ which is perfectness, as they cant Psalm 111:10, 1 Corinthians 8:1, Colossians 3:14).

Then instead of being in the new covenant, or ever having interest in what it is, they are the same covenant breakers, no natural affection in them, only hardened hearts which refuse to listen, because of being unmerciful( but to themselves they are too merciful/only interest in their life) and they all heard the judgement of God, that anyone who does those evil things are worthy of death, but they do them so must make excuse, and they also are happy when others support their wickedness of antichrist ways.

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

DaDaBrothers, do you not think best you give yourself over to study of the bible, (wholly) and let yourself have the chance that God gives to us all, whatever He will give. It is what I did from age 21 ( I am 48 now, and live in Ireland) to read the scriptures all day for a long time, like thirsting for them so much and wanting to know only the things God might let me know, and learn all of the Lord ( feeling sorry for what Jesus ( Our Lord God and Savior) had to go through but wanting to join Him if I could in His sufferings to take a share, and understanding He has the name above every other name. But you have done well to not be fooled by those who lie in wait to deceive, just don't play their sport with them..

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Ecclesiastes 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Part 2.

But we see the testimony for Christ ( for us to follow) of Him loving righteousness and hating their iniquity, and the word on temptation ( as Christ endured the same temptations as we so succours us out of it) is that we are blessed when God succours us in this day of salvation to endure the temptations, by being the ones who love Christ( not breaking His commands to love ever but keeping them always) but if we do break them, we are transgressors, and instead of being forgiven as they claim, they are told, they are guilty of all, as they should have fulfilled the royal law to love their neighbour as themselves..

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Hebrews 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Hebrews 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Then seeing we purify our souls in obeying the truth ( not their word on disobedience) it is done through the Spirit which is sincere love of the brothers, loving with a pure heart honestly, this is being born again ( now in this flesh) by incorruption.

Not their gone astray forsaking of the right way, as they follow wages of unrighteousnes ( they even said that directly in this thread)

So we are called to hate our lives, ( not love them and love ourselves/lusts) and they overcame this world and the devil by not loving their lives until the death, that is the word of the testimony of Christ they have, but the ones who instead love lies, are the coveting idolaters, and are without by not having the word of overcoming in them..

1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

2 Peter 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

John 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

So many flatterers and deceivers here, but they are told about, they hear the words, but show love only with their mouth, but their heart only goes after coveteousness, as they fail to do what is love ( in deed and truth/without covetousness)

God hates, false oaths, and evil against our neighbour( why do they think Gods law of love is fulfilled in us by us only able to do the things we and He hates?) But we love the truth and peace is told..

Ezekiel 33:31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

Zechariah 8:17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.

Zechariah 8:19 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.

The Pharisees, want you to be the Pharisees, as they know to do wrong, means your destruction. But the Pharisees ignore this judgement of God, which is the love of God. Instead of avoiding what God hates, they do it, loving what comforts them

Then the condemnation is, men who love darkness do evil ( they say they do not love the evil they do )but when they do evil they did not come to the light, ( they say they fellowship with the light by not claiming to stop doing evil/sin) but the ones who do truth, come to the light, and their deeds are in God ( not doing evil or they hate the light by their deeds still being evil)..

Luke 11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Luke 11:43 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

If they loved Jesus they keep His words, when they love Him not, they do not keep them.

To keep the commandments of Christ, is to abide in His love ( keep His love not begin hatefulness) even as Christ kept the Fathers commandments and this is abiding in the love of God ( not breaking it as they lying attack the Son of God)

Which is why, the testimony is given that no creature ( no devil ) can separate us from abiding in that love of God, ( no stumbling and failing as they wish it testifies for them to be in the right)...

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Love fulfills the law ( of Christ in us/new covenant they ignore)

Love works no ill, although they say you lie if you say you do not do unrighteousness/sin/ill on somebody, but they do not love the Lord Jesus Christ this way ( or anyone else but lovers of their own selves) so are cursed, by not being able/enabled, to cease from sin ( comitting/practicing) cursed children which have forsaken the right way and receive their reward of unrighteousness, by their spots who only are seen as sporting and debating in their unstable ways and the beguiling of the devil....

Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Romans 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

1 Corinthians 16:22 If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

2 Peter 2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

They keep saying we are in the flesh, but we know no man after the flesh any more, we know only Christ in the Spirit now, to be that new creature, they think new is being in and dong the old. But the love of Christ stops that deceit and makes us see the truth more honestly than that..

2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

So we give no offence, but approved by, the distresses and afflictions ( of Christ) by pureness and longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by, which is the word of truth, protected from their failing doctrine ways/belief, by the armour of God on every side, left and right.. sincere love

2 Corinthians 6:3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
6 By pureness, by knowledge, by long suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

The love of the truth is withheld, by this deceivableness of unrighteousness, as we are as told, to hate the evil and love the good, not their way of pretense, and instead hate the good and love the evil ( which they allow themselves).

But God requires us to do justly, and to love mercy..

2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Amos 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

Micah 3:2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Thy cannot avoid it now, they do, what they hate, ( because they hate the good and do the evil which they love)

Why does it happen to them ? Because they like the greatest of foolishness, return to their own vomit..

Romans 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

2 Peter 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Don't get me wrong I like the book of Romans. Im just saying the preaching in Asia is not "Holy Spirit approved" from that point on. I didn't entirely denied Paul, neither thrown anything out the window, but because of the teachings of Paul ( in Asia ?) Some people throw the Torah out the window and the Law. The sacrifices are no longer required since Christ' blood covers everything, but the moral law still applies and food laws ? I don't know, I would try to obey as much as possible. Showing my faith by my works.

You should not only obey as much as possible, you should obey, period. And Paul would say the same thing! But we do not obey to be saved. Rather, we obey because we have been saved. As for perfect obedience, I realize that many might disagree with me on this, but I believe a mature Christian should never knowingly sin. Ever. Now there will be instances where the Holy Spirit, through preaching/reading of the Word, will reveal something about that mature Christian that he needs to change - this is called "conviction". God disciplines every true child, and the discipline never stops as long as we are growing. The Christian life is one of continual growth, continual repentance, continual faith, continual obedience. It is not good enough to merely abstain from sin - we must be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Otherwise it is just the outside that is clean - it is the inside, the heart, that God is concerned about. It is not enough to not kill - you must not be angry without cause. It is not enough to not commit adultery - even looking at a woman with lustful thoughts is sin. It is not enough to not steal. Do you wish you had your neighbor's car? That is also sin. It is the inward transformation that is ongoing, to which the increasing outward fruitfulness bears witness. Those who continue on bearing bad fruit reveal that their heart is not being changed.

I cannot stress to you enough the importance of finding a biblical church - preferably reformed - and being discipled. The Bible warns against "forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some..." Heb 10:25 We are told to be "imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises." Heb 6:12 Every Christian needs to be discipled. Your number one priority should be finding a good local church. Do not delay.
