Our generation had a lot of really good music, especially nominally Christian music. I can think of more than a few that were good in the "Christian scene" alone:
Under0ath
Kingston Falls
Demon Hunter
Skillet
Insyderz
OC Supertones
Five Iron Frenzy
Dogwood
Extol
Christian music usually gets a lot of groans and eye-rolls, because it imitates secular music and usually isn't "as good" but I liked a lot of it growing up. I also liked a lot of secular music, a lot of which you'd figure that someone who was a Christian wouldn't be listening to, but that's because I learned long ago that rock stars were not meant to be role models or even taken seriously. Some of my favorite secular artists growing up were:
Rancid
Tiger Army
Johnny Cash, but he's done a lot of gospelish work
Peter Gabriel
311
Sublime
Live
Iggy Pop
The Clash
