It will be unavoidably strong for those God sets the delusion on. They will believe it and follow it without question.

Absolutely. See Rom 1: 28-32 for the typical outrage culture mindset.

Hi it seems to me the strategy of the enemy is to change society from one with absolute values to one with relative values and a series of much smaller lies will precede and condition the masses to believe the lie when you get to the great deception.

You start with lies like life spontaneously arrived and mutated over billions of years to equal everything you see today. This is the foundation for the atheist and the root of the idea of progressive evolution in things like cultures or values and all. You can see the LGTBQ idea used to contained to the abnormal section of psychology textbooks and noted as a disorder and now it is a protected class of citizens on a legal horizon soon to test freedom of religion vs freedom of speech as some consider Biblical passages on this hate speech.

The great deception has to do with the lying signs and wonders when the antichrist is revealed and claims to be above all that is God. 2 Thes 2 and Rev 13. He is to survive a mortal wound and will have false prophet along side at this time. Many speculate that he might claim to be an alien or even an ancient and the idea that God is really higher evolved beings from another planet may be part of it. Somehow people will worship this many and the image set up and he will persecute both Christians and Jews until he is put down when the LORD Jesus comes.

What do you think it'll be? Will it be strong enough to persuade believers?

I find it hard to believe it'd be super obvious. Just me though.

It may be super obvious. In fact, I'm kind of thinking that something like it has already been manifested in a super obvious way some time back ... maybe in succession.

... if we want to understand the "strong delusion," I'd think we'd be looking for "strong" forces in history (even some in our current times) that are allowed to roam on purpose by God as a test, and by which, when they manifest will bring out what is really in people's hearts in regard to their beliefs about the existence of God, the Lordship of Jesus Christ and maintaining the purity of His Church.

What do you think it'll be? Will it be strong enough to persuade believers?

The scripture concerning strong delusion:

2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

What is the lie? The opposite of the truth. The love of darkness. What is the truth? The testimony of Jesus, which cannot be separated from the law of God. Do we love the truth? Do we believe the truth? Are we doers of the truth?

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

John 3:19-21 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil [sin]. For every one that doeth evil [sin] hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth [obedience] cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Malachi 2:6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.

Romans 2:17-20 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
The love of darkness (sin), the denial of the truth in the law of God and in the testimony of Jesus. It not only affects the majority of the population of the earth, but it is at large in the church as well. Will it get stronger the closer we get to the end? Yes, I believe so, because prophecy is going to be fulfilled and a death decree will be given as an ultimatum to those who love the truth.

Revelation 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Revelation 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
The end time began at the end of Jesus' ministry. Now is the time of delusion. The delusion is multi-faceted, but is ultimately the love of darkness and sin and the forsaking of the truth, which is the testimony of Jesus and the law of love. Satan's target is God's people, as described below.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
As has already been shown in the thread, the Sabbath, the fourth commandment, is just one of the commandments that have been forsaken, but is perhaps the most important of all as men profess Sunday. The delusion is well under way.

I will certainly persuade the believers who are weak the areas that the persuade in. If anyone doesn't know the truth, he will be brought like a lamb to slaughter, I suppose, but who goes and when depends on what false information they are giving and when it is given, as well as who is weak in that area at that time. Hopefully we will all be unmoved. Believers should sharpen each other now. This is why the Bible calls us to take immediate action for our own salvation and to spread the gospel, because truth is constantly trying to be covered by lies. Imagine being ill with a bacterial infection, and only taking antibiotics every now and again. You'd never get well. The bacteria would remain in your body.

**I don't like using medical references, though, given how things are going now, as I wonder if we are going to be forced to consume some form of "Kool-Aid" in the future, whether that is vaccines or other medicines on the pretense of it being for our best interest.

Pamela Harris said taking the vaccine is like loving your neighbor, as stated in the Bible, and I think this is a delusion. They aren't loving us at all by giving us something so experimental, that is known to cause significant harm to many who take it.

There were people without faith even when Jesus Christ walked among them in the flesh....there is no compelling reason to believe that humanity won't be susceptible to delusion right up until the end.

There but for the grace of God!

Yeah i see it but i think the vac is just a foreshadowing of something more sinister to come from our gov. I dont think the vax is the mob bc so many prophetic things have still yet to happen that and i believe it wont be an accident if you get it. You'll know. Atleast thats what i believe.

Will it be strong enough to persuade believers? Great question. Going with what Matthew quotes from Jesus ...

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)
... I think we can say that whatever delusive propositions may come, they will be seemingly persuasive to everyone on some level.

Elect cannot be deceived? You are deceived already. Why do you think that Lord Jesus warned us?
Not my invention:

"For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." - Mark 13:22

"But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: 'The Lord knows those who are his,' and, 'Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.'" - 2 Timothy 2:19

The delusion is already here and has been here since the beginning. Adam and Eve belived in a delusion , Cain belived in a delusion, Judas belived in a delusion and on and on. Those who are easily deceived have fallen into delusion.
Blessings.

Vaccination can help them. The vaccination is not a delusion nor is Covid. The Bible says there will be pestilence in the end times.
Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. So Covid is simply one of those, it is a sign of the end, not a delusion. The vaccines are simply mankind attempt at stopping a disease as it has done many times in the past. This vaccination is no different to the small pox or polio or any other vaccine.

However as these pestilence grow, because they will, and mankind keeps scrambling to improve it's vaccines to try and beat it, this will make this area open for some other deception. Because while Covid does respond to a vaccine there will come a time the pestilence plaguing the world won't. Mankind as a whole has to be desperate, far more desperate than they are now. They have to be looking for a savior. I think it could be aliens or it could be a false Christ, but someone or something will swoop in promising a cure for whatever petulance has overtaken the world. That is the deception, the false god. Not the disease or mankind's attempts at getting rid of it. I think Covid is just a taste of what is to come. But this savior of mankind will involve some form of worship, it won't be a simple medical event like getting a vaccination. You won't accidentally take something, people will believe in whatever it is and see them as the savior of the world. It has to be on a world wide scale. Pestulence and global warming/and or pollution are about the only things that could happen globally and could be severe enough to cause people to literally worship something as a solution.

Small delusions sure, Satan has been deceiving since the garden but this isn't what most people mean when they talk of the end times delusion, we mean the big delusion. The thing that will make the world worship the beast.
Rev 13
All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.

To get the entire world to worship this being, would need mankind on their knees. The world would have to be in desperation. Disease and global warming that can't be controlled could very well be the thing that makes mankind ripe for this event.

What exactly do you mean about 'end-time delusion'? We are easily deceived by Satan ALWAYS (the "beguiler", as God calls him). If we listen to the whispers in our mind by him, we might suppose many things; so we must prove all things by "rightly dividing the word of truth", as God tells us. If we stray from Holy Scripture or take verses out of context, we might suppose many things (Satan loves that). We are warned now by God in the Gospels and Epistles (which must be read often), and if we do not have the Lord Jesus in our heart and daily prayers to Him, we will not be ready for the end (see John 3 and John 14).

A "born again" saint (John 3:16) is SEALED as a "child of God" forever, and have the Holy Spirit to speak to us daily --are we all ready?. These saints will be suddenly 'raptured' (lifted up with great joy) to Heaven "in a moment; in the twinkling of an eye", as God says in the end time (which could be any moment); then the rule of Satan will begin on earth in person in the two "beasts" (terrible men with great Satanic powers) as shown in Revelation, for all souls not saved, for seven years ('tribulation period').

After this the Lord Jesus will return with His "bride": the universal Church (called out company of God) and reign for a thousand years on earth (the Millennium) over all mankind left here --and not otherwise yet cast away into "hades". There is much 'delusion' going on here all the time, so let all souls be warned!

Lord Jesus warned us because it IS possible to be deceived. At least four times in the NT it says, "Do not be deceived...." Why? because some were being deceived. The Galatians were falling back into legalism, the Apostle Peter was deceived by those who demanded a return to OT practices and much of the NT was written to counteract heresies that were creeping in already. Nothing much has changed, as the debate over COVID vaccination and flat earth beliefs shows. How anyone can believe that the earth is flat is beyond my comprehension. How anyone can believe that a computer chip can be fabricated small enough to get through a hypodermic needle is just as baffling. Yet some Christians are convinced that the COVID vaccine is the mark of the beast and all who have the vaccine are going to hell.

There are deceptions and there are deceptions.

A basic lesson about spiritual deceptions is given to us with the stories in 1 Kings and 2 Chronicles. In that case, the lying spirit was dispatched by the Lord Himself to give a deceptive prophesy to all the prophets of the land, including the prophet of the Lord, to King Ahab.

But here is the point to note: King Ahab had already declared that he didn't want to hear the word of the Lord.

King Johosaphat OTOH did want to hear the truth, so although he was also heard the lie, he asked again for the truth and got it.

So the Lord was actually giving Ahab what he wanted: Ahab didn't want the truth, so the Lord arranged for him to hear a lie. This point is echoed in Romans 1. Those who do not want the truth are the ones given over to delusion.

But here is where we must each be careful: Can we handle the truth? Are we willing to accept the truth that may lead us where we are not inclined to go, or are we only willing to accept that which fits the presumptions, prejudices, and predilections that we already have?
