I don’t think so but the ones I have I am better able to handle.
There was one jump in a symptom, but am handling it better and better. Keep praying, keep fighting, keep getting wiser just by every day life. Nothing to fear.

Hi all,

I’ve had this question for awhile now and I’d like to ask everyone here,is it true, the longer we serve the Lord, learn more about him,and love him do satans attacks get worse and worse against us?

That hasn't been my experience, and I've been a Christian since 1977.

Can you be more specific?

They get more clever. You might still be buffeting the old ones that used to take you down, but they exist either as constant pressure or as a distraction from the main attack, which will hit you in areas you had not considered to defend. For instance:

Confident in your salvation now? OK, I'll let that pride grow. That will give me more opportunities, I'll get you to either be unloving to the wrong person, or get you with greed, or get you with adultery. And even if you resist them all most of the time, I only need to get you with one of those just once.

That's one example of how men of God get taken down, or get duped into doing Satan's work for him today. He's an intelligent being who has been doing what he has been doing for thousands of years. He's good at it.

I believe so. I think CS Lewis accurately portrays things from Screwtape that if we're just drifting around, the demons don't have to do much. The closer we get, the more they have to work to get us to sin.

YES he does unless you stop sinning. But as long as you commit even one little sin, he will continue to attack.
Matthew 12:43-45 says "When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
May God Bless You

Both yes and no. If you purely talk age, then no. If you talk mental, emotional and spiritually maturity, the answer is also both, yes and no. Yes, as in the attacks increase in number, and because of desperation over losing, gets very dumb, so hit and miss. So it strengthens you, those dumb attacks. That he use his sons and daughters as tools to enact. Since satan use weak people that he could win over, not much of a game really. When you are marked by the holy spirit, Satan himself or demons are not allowed to attack you. If you are an atheist, it might be different, because the rules state that Satan can send demons to spook you, and mess you up. If you have true faith, you can really just, view Satan as a skinny little kid with spaghettiarms. Can said kid beat you up?But of course, if he sends a pack of such kids to attack you, it may be a numbers game

Perhaps it appears that way, the more we come to realize how self serving and imperfect we are as humans as we come to understand ourselves. Setting aside self interest is a lot like dieting. The temptations seem greater.

Its a narrow path all right.

Hi all,

I think when you put your mind to it to really serve God, satan will try to get you off plan. So I think the most dedicated followers of Christ get the most resistance, but at the same time God is also strong to protect those who genuinly follow Him. I think as you grow as a Christian you learn how satan attacks, and are better equipped to handle it.

When we have weak spots satan is quick to attack those weak spots. Like if you have been freed from alchoholism, satan will try to get you into situations where you have to say "no" to alchohol. The Bible do say we aren't temped beyond our power to resist (1 Corinthians 10:13).

So I wouldn't say satan's attacks get worse the better we know the Lord, but rather when we choose to really serve the Lord. But it's from one perspective a good thing, it shows we are on the right path. There is no need for satan to put much energy into attacking lukewarm Christians.

My thoughts anyway.

For me now that I'm nearing 60 as a lifelong Christian, many old temptations simply don't appeal to me any longer. Worldliness in general has lost its appeal. I just wish this had happened 30-40 years ago.

Your animal instincts are wearing out. The only job the Tempter has is to see if we will happily put our will before the will of God, so as it stands his job is not in jeopardy.

While things of the flesh have become dulled, things of the spirit have sharpened.

The body of Christ is structured like a body, so some organs will not experience much of this at all - while some experience this almost exclusively.

If spiritual warfare is getting worse, sometimes it's the environment(s) you expose yourself to, this may change as you mature spiritually.

The closer you are to God, and if there is something from God for you to do, i think the more the devil is going to try to bring you down, not that he would succeed, but..

People saying things got worse when they started to take more seriously the gospel and seek God with strenght, this is true sometimes.

It depends what you mean by “worse” attacks and us becoming “mature”.

But generally, yes. The enemy must be more clever, more subtle.

He never gives up in trying to bring us down though. If we ever think we can become so holy, so close to God, so much like Christ that the enemy wouldn’t dare to tempt us again? We have already fallen into the worst kind of spiritual danger (religious pride) and are at great risk.

I disagree with those who say that Satan's attacks get worse and worse against us. Satan is always "on the prowl" but that doesn't mean his attacks get worse over time. He is who he is and we (in Christ) are who we are. As James, the Lord's brother clearly stated, "So submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7 Yes, he will flee if you resist him.

I don’t know about time but I definetly know for sure that the more ”salty” you are the more attacks you get. The more you try to spread the gospel the more attacks you get. But if you just keep everything for yourself and you are not doing God’s will im sure satan will leave you alone.

That is why God created the Tempter in the first place. The Hebrew people were well aware of it's purpose and existence. It exposes our vanity, reminds us that this world we have made in our own image is not capable of representing the will of God, and exposes our true allegiance regardless of how much lip service we pay the Lord.
