I think building a ship where there is no water is a pretty solid warning sign, even if he didn't verbally scream dire warnings out loud (which he might have done, but we have no record).

Some perhaps are forgetting what the following says.

2 Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

This text says he was a preacher of righteousness. Preachers are typically known for being vocal about things.

If we fast forward from to Noah's day to ours, Revelation is the Word of God on how He is going to end this whole sorrid state of mankind is in and has been in ever since the fall in the garden of Eden. God gives the details, the timeframes, and the participants.

God, throughout, appeals to mankind in Revelation to repent, believe on Jesus, and seek Him.

Like the days of Noah, it is God's desire that man repent, turn to His way of salvation - which is revealed to be in Christ Jesus.

Our bible study group found proof of that in that God gives man 21 more warning signs through the 7 seals judgements, the 7 trumpet judgements, and the 7 bowls of wrath judgements. It seemed to us that God first tries to wake up the lost with a slap on the wrist, then a stick to the head, then a 2 x 4 to the head, then a baseball bat, and on and on with escalating consequences. It seems clear God does not want to lose any, but prefers all men to come to their sense and love God. But, sadly enough, Scripture tells us most do not heed even a 21 step warning of increasing proportions.

Here's something to ponder. Assuming man was living in different regions of the earth at the time, some of them on the other side of the planet, and that the flood was global, how did word get out to someone on the other side of the planet that a flood was coming? They didn't have tvs and radios and phones back then.
The Holy Spirit is worldwide and could have warned those who believed in God. The bible is silent on that so we cannot know for sure. Also, we don't know how many people lived outside of Europe, Asia and Africa. Most did live near Israel at the time.

The way I see it is that Noah didn't have access to a drydock, so he was building on land. The dimensions of the boat are huge, so there would be no way to tow it to the sea when ready to sail.
Not like he could back up his diesel track vehicle and hook up to a tow bar. IIRC, it took him decades to build. Ridicule must have been part of this whole process.

And Noah could of had access to a drydock, he could of entered into the biggest boat competition. with imagination a million scenarios can come about

"even if he didn't verbally scream dire warnings out loud (which he might have done, but we have no record)."

Why does Jesus compare the day of the Son of man, to Noah, if the account is different ?

Do you guys have a problem with reading what is witnessed ? Let me repeat it for you, if that might highlight it.

Jesus comparing Noah's days, describes His days, as the SAME.

Which means, Jesus rejected of that generation, sees how Noah was also rejected of that generation of the old world to bring in the flood on the world of those ungodly too.

Jesus clearly has given warning to Israel, they reject Him, and they perish, not Him.

How then, is it not understood in the faith, and testimonies, that Noah did not likewise, preach the righteousness to them, and warn them, and they reject Noah.

Luke 17:25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 And as it was in the DAYS OF NOE, so shall it be also in the DAYS OF THE SON OF MAN.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

2 Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, A PREACHER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, BRINGING IN THE FLOOD UPON THE WORLD OF THE UNGODLY;

Luke 17:22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when YE SHALL DESIRE TO SEE ONE OF THE DAYS OF THE SON OF MAN, and ye shall not see it.

Luke 17:26 And as it was in THE DAYS OF NOE, so SHALL IT BE ALSO IN THE DAYS OF THE SON OF MAN.

We don't need to assume how man preferred to live after the flood, it was of one language, and not scattered, and God scattered them on the face of the whole earth against their wishes, and confounded their language of all the earth to be different languages, different places, and to distrust one another, and the flood has people hearing that preacher of righteousness, Noah.

Genesis 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

Genesis 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

Genesis 11:8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

Genesis 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

What warning do you consider it to be, that already has the outcome foretold?

Revelation 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

Revelation 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

Revelation 16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

If we want to understand, why the outcome is told/decided already, it's because:

Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Psalm 119:160

While they are saying: Peace and Safety:

This prophecy in 1 Thessalonians 5:3, goes on to tell us: then, sudden destruction will come upon them.

So we need to find out who are those who will say; ‘At last we have peace and safety’, and who the sudden destruction will fall upon.

We can be sure this is about the latter days, as it refers to Jesus prophecy in Matthew 24:8 All these things are the birth pangs of the new age.
We also know that it will happen before Jesus Returns, as Paul tells us in 1Thessalonians 4:16 The Lord will come from heaven with a shout; the voice of an archangel and the trumpet of God.

Whereas at this sudden destruction, before the Return, He will come unexpectedly.

This event is obviously the multi prophesied Day of the Lord’s fiery wrath; the Sixth Seal worldwide disaster. The Lord will not be seen on that Day. Amos 1, Psalms 11:4-6, Habakkuk 3:4

The focal point of God’s Plan on earth, is the holy Land, the place His eyes are fixed upon. Deuteronomy 11:11-12

The situation there has been extremely volatile for many years, but just recently there has been a change, with the United Arab Emirates normalizing relations with the Jewish State of Israel. Also many other Middle East nations are overtly [instead of covertly] in diplomatic and trade discussions with Israel.

This considerable improvement toward stability and peace in the region, has resulted in many comments of optimism and hope for peace and safety at last for Israel and the Islamic peoples. Those diplomats and commentators are the first ‘they’.

EXCEPT for Iran and their proxies. Their Shi-ite version of Islam remains committed to the destruction of the Jewish people and the removal of Israel from the Middle East.

We see many prophecies which say how the Lord will destroy His enemies, Psalms 7:12-16, Psalms 83, Micah 4:11-12 and Revelation 6:12-17, are the most specific. They all say that the Lord will take action when an attack upon Israel is commenced. He will not allow nukes to explode in His holy Land.

Therefore, ‘them’, are the peoples who hate Israel and attempt to wipe them off the map.

It WILL happen, God’s Word prophesies it and Satan is the force behind Islam, plus the leaders of Iran are facing revolution for their mismanagement and incompetence. They must act to retain power by diverting attention from themselves.

Because the son of man was rejected in that generation And there was drinking and marrying as it was in Noah time also not that Noah was rejected in his time, did Noah preach to the seven others yup

Noah a preacher of righteousness, is like the list of Gods prophets and preachers ( the true ones with Gods Spirit within them), Noah being in this chapter and descriptions of:

Cruel mockings,
scourgings,
tempted,
destitute,
afflicted,
tormented.

As Jesus also witnesses how the believers will receive for His names sake when they go and preach, which is hated of all men, as seen in all the Apostles and lots of example of what was done on Apostle Paul.

Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Hebrews 7:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Hebrews 11:36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

So, unless Noah does unlike every example of Gods true preachers in the entire bible, he would not have received persecution, ridicule, rejection, and to also warn the people about the coming evil, as again, all preachers, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, entirely everybody did so, and did the same...

Jeremiah 20:8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the Lord was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.

James 5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

Our Lord Jesus said that the day and hour of His second coming, no one knows, except our Father in heaven. But He gave a parallel to His second coming, which will be like the days of Noah. The people in Noah’s time probably knew that a flood is coming because Noah had been warning them, but they did not know that it is in their times. The bible says they had been eating, drinking and marrying, until Noah entered the ark. The sad ending was that the flood came and took them all away (Matt 24: 36-39)....To read more The Days Of Noah
I'm not sure how you are concluding that "the people in Noah's time probably knew that a flood is coming". No, they did not believe that a flood was coming at all which is why they ignored the warnings. Similarly, Peter said there would be scoffers in the last days mocking the idea of a second coming of Christ (2 Peter 3:3-4) because they don't believe it will happen.

I believe the answer to that can be seen in Paul's 2nd letter to that same church.

2 Thess 1:6 God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. 8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might 10 on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

It should be understood that 1 Thessalonians 5:3 will happen on the same day that believers are caught up to meet Christ "in the air" since 1 Thess 4:13-5:6 is all about one event. Many don't understand this because of the chapter break in there, but it was an unfortunate and inappropriate place to put a chapter break (after 1 Thess 4:18). Anyway, 2 Thess 1:7-10 is about that same event which means that the ones upon whom will come "sudden destruction" will be all of those who "do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus".

The destruction will be global and will come by way of fire, as Peter wrote about in 2 Peter 3:10-12. All you have to do is compare the following 2 passages to see that:

1 Thessalonians 5:1 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

It is no wonder that Paul said "they will not escape", as no one could possibly escape fire coming down on the entire earth.

I guess you could say it's like knowing and not knowing at the same time. The cry has been going out over the whole world "repent".People hear it and ignore it.

I remain convinced that 1 Thess 5:1-28 applies to us today.
It does fit our current situation, the Middle East is relatively calm and most of the Arab nations do now talk to Israel.

I do not see it applying to Ezekiel 38 to 39, as the 'living undefended, in peace and prosperity in all of the holy Land', is not true for Israel today.

The 'sudden destruction' will be triggered by Iran attempting to send nuke missiles to Israel. The Lord will wipe them out, as Jeremiah 49:35-37 says. It will be the Lord's Day of fiery wrath, the Sixth Seal event.

It seems to me Paul is already telling us in this same chapter who it is that are saying peace and safety

1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

This involves 2 types of people.

1) the brethren---the ones that know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night---the brethren that are not in darkness, that that day should overtake them as a thief---the brethren that are the children of light, and the children of the day---the brethren that are not of the night, nor of darkness---the brethren that should not sleep, as others do, but instead should watch and be sober.

The other type.

2) The ones that are in darkness, that that day will overtake them as a thief---the ones of the night, of darkness---that sleep instead of being watchful and sober---the ones that sleep sleep in the night, and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.--it is these who are saying peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. It is these same ones Jesus was referring to in Matthew 24 per the following.

Matthew 24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
