Thanks, Anastasia!

I am trying very hard to do all I can to be accepted for the latest apartment I looked at this past Wednesday. It's perfect for us and in the location I'd always dreamed of being in, but nothing had come up from that area before this. Please, please pray that we will be accepted for this apartment!

Some good news to share. Tuesday I received an email from a manager at Chick-Fil-A. About a month ago, I applied for a few jobs, and CFA was one of them. Just to get something and my foot in the door, back in the workplace for some type of start of a work history. It was an interview invite for that day - open interviews from 3:00-5:00 pm. I had had a bad night of feeling despair (unfortunately), feeling like God wasn’t hearing my prayers. I asked three times in tears for His help around 3:30 in the morning. Anyway, mid-morning I saw this and took it to mean God had answered my prayers of help in this opportunity. I emailed back thanking him for this opportunity, went there around 3:20, interviewed with two guys, and I got the job!

unfortunately one of the applicants in line before me got the apartment I was wanting so much. Good news though is my brother-in-law agreed to be a co-signer for me, and that makes a big difference. Need this and whatever help I can get to start over and get to a place of security both with shelter/housing and income. In 3-6 months I should have a full-time job.

I got a call yesterday from one of the contact people at the rescue mission I’ve been trying to start volunteering at with a chance at being hired on after finishing the required 40 hours of volunteering. Anyway, she called to tell me about the job they’d set for me for the volunteering and possible hiring and that I’d be working with another staff member and would need to do another interview with him. She also asked if it was okay with doing 12 hours of training on the computer system they use for the data entry, which is basically this position. I, of course, said yes. So the interview is next Thursday the 12th, and then training would follow, I’d think.

Tomorrow from 4:00pm-9:00 pm is orientation for the CFA job. So I’ll be going to that, obviously.

Things are looking up. Now I just need a place to live, which has been the most stressful thing of all.

thank you all for your prayers! They’re helping so much!

PS: sorry for the typos. On my phone

Glory to God! Glad for good news. Continued prayers and hoping you get a place to live settled soon.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. I'm so blessed to have you all in my life, if even through this website and/or FB.

A few updates. A week ago, I believe it was, I was informed I was approved by a realty company who manages apartments in the area (I'd been conversing off and on with one of their agents for the past couple of months), due to, thankfully, my brother-in-law's being a co-signer. Thank God for him and my sister! From what I've been told by the agent, they have an apartment in the same building I'd looked at one of their units last month, but this is a different one on the second floor instead of the first, which I prefer anyway, that is being renovated right now but should be done by September 10. If not, by the 15th. The agent told me they'd send over an invite to their online portal for signing the lease, paying the deposit, etc. It hasn't happened yet, but I'm hoping I'll get something sent to me soon. Figuring since it'll be a while until September 10 or so, they've not rushed it over. But I'd feel more secure about it if it showed up in my email sooner rather than later. I'll probably text the agent sometime next week on an update on that. The last I spoke to her via text, I think was this past Wednesday.

In the meantime, I've been working at Chick-fil-A part-time (it's insanely busy there and a lot of work, but rewarding and feels like I have a purpose there, helping the guests and becoming friends with my co-workers). I also have interviewed with a staff member at the rescue mission that I've been in contact with since May (first interview was, I think, in June). I'm starting up computer training this week, in the mornings, when I can fit it in before my shift at CFA. It's a data entry/admin. asst. volunteer position that I am thinking will become a permanent job in the near future. They usually hire volunteers after they finish their 40 hours of volunteer hours. And with all the effort the IT and computer programming guys are investing in me, which I'm so grateful and touched, I'd think they'd want me to come on board. My friend from church who works there said the staff member really likes me and that I should be on board as soon as can be. Then I have to juggle the two jobs' hours, and figure on cutting down the hours as CFA, probably, to fit in the data entry position. The good news is I've been given a laptop for the data entry job and can take it home and work from home for the most part. :)

To top that off, my son, Nicholas, and his cat (although his cat was attacked viciously by one of my mom's menacing cats last week...Tipper, Nicholas's cat, had to be taken to the vet, sedated, and fixed up -- her ear was torn, poor thing, but she's recovering all right. She's just tired of being locked up in Nicholas's room while recuperating) is doing all right at my mom's house down in Northern Louisiana. And yesterday, he went to a meat market/shop to meet up with the owner and workers there that one of the parishioners at the church he's going to down there (great community - Antiochian Church) knows the owner (she's the wife of a priest), and that they're needing some help there, and she mentioned Nicholas! So, they had him fill out an application and told him they'd be in touch with him on Monday to see about where to position him. Nicholas told me he's hoping he gets the job. I told him he's been referred to the owner by friends of the owner -- networking -- he's more than likely "In", which will be wonderful for him!

Also, with my new lawyer I retained in late June iirc, got the court to open a hearing for permanent orders on the final agreements to be figured out (the original memo of understanding agreement was grossly unfair to me, had many errors that my new lawyer immediately noticed, and showed proof that my previous lawyer was somewhat incompetent or lazy, and truly didn't adequately advocate for me, nor inform me correctly or have the knowledge in doing so, but rather pressured me to do whatever my ex's lawyer said I should do). So, I'll be talking with my lawyer on Tuesday to discuss our proposal for the court on a more equitable settlement for me and Christopher, my youngest son.

God's time, not my time. I have had to learn a lot of patience and work through all my anxiety and struggles of holding onto hope these past few months, but I've gotten through it with God's guidance, strength, mercy, and love. And the prayers of the Panagia, other Saints, and all my family and friends. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. Please keep those prayers going!
