And you don't feel that forming a conclusion based upon the opening sentence of a report is misrepresenting the data? Incredible. Well, worse than that really, but incredible will suffice, though best said with a French accent.
It’s a false and misleading conclusion. Obviously, though, some folks don’t mind as long as it fits their viewpoint.

It's a generalization; I don't know if I'd characterize it as misrepresentation.

But if it's enough for you to dismiss the article/study, oh well. Not much we can do about that.
It does call into question the motives of the author and what else they might skew in one direction or another.

The article links to the original study. You can read that without reading the article.

Do you have comment on the findings of the study itself?

The study wasn’t the OP. The article was, and it looks as if it did its job.

“Unvaccinated Americans believe the vaccines are more dangerous than Covid-19”. First sentence. And it’s not true. While I’m sure it does apply to some, it’s not universal. I’d say that it’s way more nuanced than that. So based on that misinformation, I can’t see any reason to read further as it’s obvious a biased article.
The article is reporting the findings from the Kaiser study:

  • "Unvaccinated adults, especially those who say they will “definitely not” get a vaccine, are much less worried about the coronavirus, the Delta variant, and have less confidence in the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines compared to those who are vaccinated. Three-fourths of unvaccinated adults, including nine in ten of those who say they will “definitely not” get the vaccine, say they are “not worried” about getting seriously sick from the virus, less than half say they are worried about the Delta variant worsening the pandemic, more than half (including 75% of “definitely not”) say getting vaccinated is a bigger risk to their health than getting infected with coronavirus, and a quarter (just one in ten of “definitely not”) say the vaccines are effective at keeping vaccinated people from dying from COVID-19 or getting seriously ill."

What a way to miss a point. I haven't read the report, so I don't have an opinion on it.

I do have an opinion on the cavalier approach that judges a report upon a single line. It is illogical. It is unscientific. It is biased. And those are its stronger points.

What purpose should anyone be interested? What benefit is there?

I would think understanding people's views and behaviors regarding vaccination and other measures might be a wee bit important during a global pandemic.

But that's just me.

Why is it important?

Why is it important?

For one, it can inform and/or influence public policy. We're seeing this directly in the U.S. as various strategies are being used to try to get more people vaccinated.

Your memory is faulty.

That is a judgement.

How are you involved in influencing public policies?

I'm not speaking about me personally. Is that what you mean to be asking?

Although on a related note, I do have influence in decision making at my employer that directly affects my employees.

No, my memory is fine most of the time. And the quote proves that I didn’t judge the report.

In that case I'll leave you to your fantasy world in which a clear judgement that a report is biased, where you state that a report is biased, that such a clear judgemen isn't a clear judgement. I don't want to live in a world like that.

The delta variant is spreading across the US. My small town is a hot spot for it. Folks haven't really changed how they do things across the US, just as it is in my little town.

Unvaccinated Americans not changing their behavior, report finds

First I mean this.. not joking or the like ok? Praise God.. this is good news. I know others believe thats not good to that I say also praise God. Not worth talking about.. some stay on one side.. they make fun those that don't get the shot or put most the blame on.. hmm one group of people which is not true but.. praise God. I never understood how say 35% wont vs 30% wont vs 20% wont. Yet in that FAKE % only the 35% is talked about haha.

Anyway something that does not get posted is.. lets be praying.. praying for those that get the vaccine and something awful happens.. even if its just one or thousands. Pray for those not getting the vaccine.

Can we PLEASE PLEASE remember people are dying here. Just read on another Christian forum there close friend just died from it. And people right now thousands are dying NOT from covid but other things. Why focus on something that is by far not the worst out there.
