That is a good angle to look at it from, is the church building the gates of hell on earth, or tearing them down?

Most of the world is in poverty and vulnerable to dictators.

The gates of hell will never prevail against the church

If only you applied the sermon on the mount in your exposition of bible verses. ..

What's that supposed to mean? Another riddle or mystery? Why hide such things from me and or others? Please do tell.

Clarity of communication on your part is important in order to not confuse the rest of us.
You need to point out in the title of the thread and the OP and any subsequent posts that any diverging alternate thoughts may not be true and that you are merely exploring alternate possibilities. But by the thread title, this to me is not even a possibility. There is no possibility of that we are in hell right now. There is no way to misunderstand that truth in Scripture unless somebody starts to over allegorize Scripture way beyond what was intended.
I will continue to do my research. There is no need to come to one conclusion. May God be True and every man a liar as the scripture says.

Amen, and Jesus will continue to build that church. For He who calls us, is faithful.

There never was such a thing a Bible alone.

From the Apostles, people were always taught God's word. Preached God's word.

Bible alone is a rather modern invention.

Obviously Bible Alone only existed when the common man was able to have a Bible to own in their possession easily. For to whom much is given, much is required. Before this point in time, believers were held accountable to what part of God's Word they did have access to.

It's recommended reading, since Jesus identifies that sermon as the foundational teaching "the house" is built on - it's always good for a refresher.

I love the sermon on the mount, and I have no problem reading it again, but that does not help to prove your mysterious point if you offer no clue to what you are getting at. You need to state specifically where in Matthew 5-7 that proves your point.

Lack of meekness is the first thing that stands out, but the lack of ability to be a peacemaker is also another consistent trait.

I can say the same for you in regards to these things, but that really does not prove anything by pointing fingers. The Scriptures are true regardless of any one person’s life. You also are only looking at my posts that you see and you have not seen everything I written over the 10 years on various Christian forums. You also have not seen my real life involving other believers, as well. What you interpret as a lack of gentleness may in fact be a defense of the faith that we are called to contend for. For our enemies shall be even of those of our own household. For Jesus said He came not to bring peace but a sword. Division is bound to happen when we take a stand for God’s Word. For all who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But yes, we are to make peace with all men without which no man shall see the Lord. If somebody keeps giving me trouble or tries to make it about me instead of discussing truths and doctrines in God’s Word, I usually move on from talking to them directly so as not to accidentally offend them or make them think it is personal (When it is not personal) and so as to keep the peace. I can still preach generically like I am talking to a crowd when addressing certain points in their post without talking to them directly. For people can easily be offended by the slightest things these days. I do have a major problem when folks do not accept the Bible alone as their final Word of authority because it is not accepting of the faith. So that does tend to rub me the wrong way, but God does call me to be patient, prayerful, and loving, and to keep planting the seeds of the Word for another to water, whereby God gives the increase (if that person is open to such truth).

Anyways, may the Lord’s good ways be upon you (even if we disagree strongly over certain things in Scripture).

The FALSE IDEA that this present world is the abode of the wicked called "hell" (haides), is NOT written in God's Word.

It is actually a teaching from the secret societies of initiatic fraternities. They don't want their members to think there is any real place as 'hell' in the heavenly that the wicked go to after flesh death. It allows them to think there really isn't a difference between good and evil, that whatever they think to do to meet their goals is justified (i.e., 'the end justifies the means' philosophy of devils). (see the 18th century work, "Proofs Of A Conspiracy" by John Robison (1798). Robison was a British Mason and a naturalist (18th century term for a scientist). He wrote the work based on discovered secret documents of the Bavarian Illuminati which the Bavarian police found on one of the Illuminati's dead agents.)

That's too bad, because God's Word is very clear about the existence of the abode of hell in the heavenly dimension where the wicked go to after flesh death (see latter part of Luke 16).

The scriptures say quite often that "I come quickly" and it is "at hand" the sense of imminent return shared among those who witnessed the second coming seems apparent from the new testament writings.

This implies that the judgment already came and we have been judged.

Currently this giant mass of sin that infected the first creation is being purified in the lake of fire, and our attachment to it creates a matrix of shared delusion to everyone also connected.

However, this will not last forever. Eventually all the sin will be purified, and we will join the rest of creation in the new heaven and the new earth.

of course, the other judgment models follow also i.e. Eternal Torment means Sin is eternal like God, and this will last forever. And Annihilationism means that when sin is erased, so are we.

so choose you own narrative, but we're totally in hell right now - it's the only reasonable explanation for the long period of wait.
The problem I have with that is " on earth as it is in heaven." and Jesus spoke of Lazarus and the rich man. That story was a true story because Jesus never used names in parables. We know Lazarus was real. He saw the rich man in flames and agony. They were separated by a great chasm. We are not in hell now. We are not dead. Hell is for those who cannnot repent and they are awaiting judgement day. We have not been judged because we are still breathing .

This is about the small chance that we're actually all in hell right now, and what we think we see is just a delusion.

This is real. But I think I swallowed the right pill. I'm pretty divorced from it. You see it but it seems far away. I liken it to a holy bubble. That's my final answer. ;)

We experience the love of God, and awesome joy in the hope of Christ. There is marriage, and having children, and grandchildren. There are beautiful sunsets and wonderful meals. There is Coca-Cola (sorry, I had to). God called this creation "good". Yes, sin entered the world, but the grace of God is here, too. This is not hell.

Stick to what the Bible says. If you are truly seeking, go to the Bible. There is a hell, and it is not here. It is far worse than anything you can imagine (and you can probably imagine terrible things).

The bubble surrounding me seems to be consisting of the thoughts and emotions of other people, it is far from holy.

The weeping and gnashing of teeth is a reality people choose every day, the reality that is perceived is a gold plating on a rotten tooth with an even more rotten root.

Once the golden perceptive layer is gone, all that is left is the rot. Thanks be to Jesus Christ, my most precious treasure.

I see it, whether the pill I swallowed is right or wrong, it is what it is.

On the futurist parallel, the lake of fire is later on in history. However, due to the anathemas and unforgiving nature of the church - there's another layer of hell that was created that is more paranormal than spiritual.

On the preterist parallel, judgment already happened, and this is just an illusion.

There are many parallels of perception that come from reading the bible. Since the church collectively cannot agree on what is right, then all parallels have merit - though they're probably all wrong since it is written may God be true and every man a liar.

Consider that nowhere in the Bible are we told to regard prophecy in anything other than "futurist" terms. In fact, Revelation is the only place where people try to do that, and it is completely unwarranted and deceptive. Every prophecy that has been fulfilled had it's fulfillment in a literal, "futurist" sense, and without exception.

That’s unfortunate. We’re a wicked lot.

I see it, whether the pill I swallowed is right or wrong, it is what it is.

There was a time when satan would flood my ears with nonsense. I kept rebuking him and seeking the Lord’s intervention. It eventually stopped.
