Wow, from the rhetoric in the OP you would think SkyNews were permabanned - but it's only for one week.

SkyNews could respect the TOS and avoid the time-out.

Sky News Australia says suspended from YouTube for one week
Reuters said:
MELBOURNE, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Sky News Australia said on Sunday it has been temporarily suspended by the video-sharing site YouTube following the platform's review of content for compliance with its COVID-19 policies.
Spreading disinformation like the plague. Pity the poor conservative!

If you're suggesting that YouTube should be stripped of the legal protections afforded platforms because it's actually a publisher, then I'm inclined to agree. However, YouTube's expended a lot of effort positioning itself as a platform in order to have those protections, and it can't be both a platform and a publisher.

If you're referring to Section 230, said protections have nothing to do with requiring content platforms to let content through unfettered. On the contrary, Section 230 includes protections that allows platforms like YouTube to moderate content.

You can read more about it here: Section 230 - Wikipedia

If only the poor oppressed things had some place online where they can publish their content, like a website of their very own.

Is that even possible? Can a news media outlet even make a website? Imagine the censorship that would occur if wordpress cut off the NY Times access to the internet. The horrors. They'd have to rely on their own webpage (nytimes.com). Cats and dogs living together. It's the end of the world as we know it. (And I feel fine).

I wish I could say I'm surprised that YouTube suspended Sky News Australia, but I'm not.

YouTube’s Sky News Australia suspension ‘disturbing’ assault on freedom of thought

First they came for Trump and other conservatives. Then they came for fringe and non-mainstream news sites. Finally, they have come for large, mainstream news sites.

This is what fascism looks like in the internet age. When Big-Tech censored Trump, it was the canary in the coal mine, but nobody was paying attention, and least of all the mainstream news, who didn't like Trump anyway. Now absolutely everyone who doesn't obey the Big-Tech covid dictators is a target. Conform, or Big-Tech will pull the plug on you.

Well right now there is no one to stop them. We all know some story that was fact true where someone got taken off Twitter or face book and youtube. Praise God you can to go other places now and say all you want RIGHT or LEFT and.. yeah.. not banned.

No one’s entitled to a place at the table on social media platforms. You don’t own the site. If you post materials they deem questionable there may be consequences.

You have the liberty of creating content on the site you own to distribute your message. If you opt to play in someone’s sandbox you can’t complain when things don’t go your way.

The concern here isn't so much who is being banned, it's the reason behind it. They say it's because of misinformation, but that itself is misinformation. The real reason they ban content is because it doesn't support specific narratives.
For instance, this was proved when Candace Owens mimicked a tweet from Sarah Jeong. But instead of mentioning white men, Candace mentioned black and Twitter banned her for almost the exact same tweet. Fortunately, for Sarah, humiliating white men fits today's narrative.

For the sake of argument let’s go with YouTube being totally dishonest about why they banned them, so what? It’s their site, they get to do that.

I think social media should be held alot more responsible for what gets posted on their websites. They are feeding a dangerous culture war that is tearing apart our societies in liberal democracies.

By removed we are talking about removed from YouTube and left to languish with nothing more than their own 24 cable news channel , broadcast channels in every major Australian and New Zealand market as well as their own website (that streams their content no YouTube needed)to put out their narrative on.

You mean stop lying? All big media lies, Fox, CNN, MSNBC. That comes with the business of political commentary. Commentary on anything really.
I looked up You tube Sky news. And the You tube is suspending them for being liars. I don't believe news should lie. And they should be held accountable.

Then Youtube has a lot of accounts to suspend if lies are no longer tolerated.

Freedom of the press does not include being entitled to the use of others presses.

Then these must be admitted to be presses and lose their status of content platforms. In the US that means no section 230.

In the same way when coal companies own a town, they should be able to kill or arrest people standing in their streets saying things the company doesn't like.

Wow.
